aragorn was a hack

the super human

Jaime CANONICALLY defeated Rand al'Thor, pretty sure he can take on some chump Numenorean

Is this pre or post golden hand arc

what product do i need to get jaime hair?

they'd become friends

Who would win between the Night King and Sauron?

who the fuck is randal

>Jaime CANONICALLY defeated Rand al'Thor,
elaborate

/ourguy/ Aragorn is twice Jamies age and would still fucking rek him.

Jon Snow could beat prime Jaimie.

you can't win the genetic lottery with a product

Jamie was about to get beat off Boromir. No chance against Aragorn.

grrm.livejournal.com/147038.html

Jon Snow couldn't beat his own meat

Night king would just snipe his ring finger from 20 miles away.
Sauron is pretty much useless villain when it comes to psychical fighting.

Boromir>Aragorn>Jaime

Gurm has no canon authority there

>fanfiction

>posting fanfiction blogs

Sauron, its not even close

most fair lotr vs got matchups would swing in favour of lotr

lurtz vs the hound
azog vs the mountain
sauron vs the night king
etc

Holy shit. It's real

O.K Jaimie vs Maximus Decimus Meridius.

He doesn't need to, his aunt beats it for him.

jaime easy

who wins without interference?

Maximus beat a Bengal tiger and a gladiator champ. Jaimie got cucked by Ned.

post-arena maximus would probably win after all the experience in the fights, but even pre-arena maximus would have a decent chance

In the books Jaime would absolutely wreck Ned. I don't know why D&D had to make both Ned and Jon such great swordsmen when in the books they are explicitely just above average while Jaime is a one in a generation talent.

can jaime beat the sword(s) of the morning??

the better question is,

who was the retard that green lit the "ebin dual swordsman" for A. Dayne ?

>Nailed it!

GRRM said that Dayne (without Dawn) ≈ Barristan the Bold, while Dayne (with Dawn) would beat Barry. IIRC that Jaime believes Barristan would have beaten him in his prime so it follows logically that Dayne beast Jaime.

i'm pretty sure Jaime was one of the best one on one swordsmen, whereas Aragorn was more of a general ranger / hero. Aragorn was a better man but Jaime would beat him in a one on one fight.

Jaime is more interesting though because he develops and changes from a piece of shit to a likeable piece of shit. Aragorn went from a rogue to a king in a predictable fashion.

imagine if he took the time to write that whole long thing and wrote the ending to book 6 already

>barristan

in a straight up sword fight
book Jaimie>book Aragorn>movie Aragorn>show Jaimie

Wasn't Jon a very good swoordsman (Like top 10 in the North)in the , just not Jaime teir.

>show only scenes
>canon
Good one
Also he took out like 13 SotH before succumbing

He was above average on account of his highborn upbringing and having been able to train in a castle with an actual Master at Arms and castle forged steel his entire life. He wasn't particularly gifted. Even Robb was better than him and Robb was more notable for his strategic mind than his battle prowess.

>Ned was beating Jaime

I don't know why people think this, re-watch the fight - it's clear Jaime is toying with Ned to begin with. Ned is going all out and Jaime has barely broken a sweat.

youtube.com/watch?v=15-op9n7FO8

t. moron

one is a fucking centuries old battlehardened super human swordsman, the other is a pussy whiped regular human.

>one in a generation talent.
Isn't he in the same generation as Dayne?

2:17 jaime wasn't expecting ned to be this good, I'm sure jaime would have beaten him due to age and overall skill but ned isn't a chump, he has more experience and he fought in two wars

I'm not overly bothered by the dualweilding, Dawn being indistinguishable from ordinary swords was far worse

Dayne was the one who knighted him, he was already a legend when Jaime was a teenager

Wasn't Dayne like 30 at the ToJ, Jaime being ~18 at the time?

What's a Numenorean?

super human basically, captain america

>Rand al'Thor
literally who?

Because everything they care about is the show being "epic" and "cool". Ned as the main character in season 1 can't be a wuss in sword fighting, he had to be a fucking specialist even rivaling Jaime himself. Same reason why they gave Dayne two swords instead of his signature one which his whole character pretty much revolves around. Same reason why they made the Hound lose to Brienne. Normies latch that shit up so hard it's not even funny.

by normie do you mean bad taste/gullible/will watch literal trash
or do you mean people that dont spend 15 hours a day on their computer/overweight/unshaven neck

yes

no

>Numenorean king of Men vs Lefty the Cuck
Really nips at my noodle

The Dragon Reborn, The Champion of The Light, Lord of The Morning, Prince of The Dawn, King of Illian, the Prophesied Savior and Breaker of The World

sounds like a nerd

The former.

Aragorn in the books and movies is literally superhuman and has 80 years of experience but is still physically stronger than any man of any age.

I thought it was pretty obvious in the show that Jaime was toying with Ned. Ned's no slouch or anything, but he can't beat Jaime.

IIRC everyone states repeatedly that Dayne was the absolute best, followed by Barristan, and Jaime comes close to young Barristan but even he's not that good.

t. the latter

>the absolute best

Aemon the Dragonknight > Dayne = Barristan > Jaime

> He unsheathed Dawn and held it with both hands. The blade was pale as milkglass, alive with light. “Noh,” Ned said with sadness in his voice. “Noeitenz.”

DABID
waht if we made dayne dual wield
GENIUS
NAILED IT!

the one with a real sword (Aragorn)

> not picking up on the reference
You really are too young to be here

you can't make canon proclamations for someone else's books

you fucking retard jamie was 15 wtf is wrong with you you cunt.

The swordfighting in the show has never been its strongpoint. There are some good fights here and there (Jorah vs Peaceful Refugee, Bronn vs Vale Knight, Oberyn vs Mountain), but they're generally badly choreographed crap. So I don't think Dayne with just one sword would have looked much better.

>I don't know why D&D had to make both Ned and Jon such great swordsmen
Do we see Jon being a great swordsman, though?

>beats untrained Night's Watch recruits
>"beats" Half-Hand (who wanted him to win)
>loses to Karl Fookin Tanner
>loses to the Wildling with the hammer
>beats White Walker (only real victorious duel)

Every time he faces someone who actually knows what they're doing, he seems to lose. He just happens to be in a situation where almost nobody north of Winterfell has any formal training in swordfighting.

Jaime with sword hand >Aragorn > Jaime without sword hand

LOTR universe has a much higher power level than Planetos. Aragorn destroys Jaime.

He's not toying with him they're both straining and clearing putting their all into the fight just cuz Jaime makes that one dumb ohhh he's pretty good face doesn't mean he's toying with him jaimes just an idiot. Ned would've won hands down he fights with a lot more ferocity

This is bad...as in not very good writing.. seriously Harry Potter is cleverer than this

plus ned has the better sword

He didn't even spell Aviendha right :(

Jaime was 15 when he was knighted which was after the fight with the Kingswood Brotherhood, which was years before Robert's Rebellion

But I mean really? How do you bookfags defend this, what right do they think they have? You should all be grateful for what the show creators have given us because it is infinitely better then reading that self-indulgent bullshit

Childhood is idolizing Lord of the Rings

Adulthood is realizing GoT is the superior medium.

Have you read Lite? Admittedly I am only familiar with the hobbit text but it is so much better than GRRM it's not even in the same league, it's hardly the same sport

Aragorn is like 6'6'', i would wager he would win

kek
Best comment i read in few days

False. It's stated in no uncertain terms that while Jaime is a great talent, he's flamboyant in his fighting style. Ned isn't. Ned's a classic 'good guy'. Meaning he goes in for a quick efficient kill. He want's the fight over.

Ned would fucking destroy Jaime. Jaime's only advantage is his youth.

>Ned would fucking destroy Jaime. Jaime's only advantage is his youth.
Jaime is literally the best sworsdman in Westeros. This is stated time and time again in the books, and in both book and show Tyrion is so confident in Jaime's ability that he calls him to be his champion in the trial by combat (instead of The Mountain, who is basically invincible).

Jaime
>excellent swordman regarded as one of the all time best by his contemporaries
>despite this, we literally never see him win a one on one fight
>in the one battle he fights he gets captured
>lots of hype, never really backs it up
vs
Aragorn
>a literal superhuman with a magic sword
>frequently see him defeat enemies
>wins a one on one with a very strong orc, basically a super orc
>survives numerous battles, always outnumbered, always comes out on top
>didnt get his dominant hand chopped off

It literally would not even be close for Aragorn. GRRM is a fucking childish hack

Read the books and see who calls Jaime the best. It's all his family and friends. The people who talk about Ned's prowess are people Ned fought along side OR Ned let live. Jaime has a fanclub after his gold and/or cock. Ned has respect.

remember when GoT had decent writing, non-retarded plotlines, and quality actors?

where the fuck are you getting this usperhuman guts vibe? Aragorn is maybe 6'2" and he's not a super human. He lives till he's 140 so he's a fit adult for 100 years. He's extremely capable since he has decades of experience surviving in the meanest wildest parts of middle earth and he's had training from peerless elf swordsmen. Strength wise he's only as strong as Boromir or weaker.

What are you on about? You are unironically stating a childrens fairy tale is more engaging than GoT?

most stories started as some children's fairytale you fucking dope, unironically

GRRM has stated that he loves and draws influence from Tolkien. why is is difficult to believe that the copy isn't as good as the original? even Tolkien didn't create the concept of folklore

2/10 apply yourself

Nobody ever calls Ned the best or anywhere near the best.

Jaime is a fucking coward.
The only reason he survives past 15 in GoT is because of his name and money.

no

>in the one battle he fights he gets captured
to be fair he slicing through the northmen like cake and only got captured because his sword got stuck in a soldier's skull

aragorn is 6'6 and can live up to 200+
he is weaker and a weaker fighter than boromir tho

Except Jaime slices through Robb's kingsguard, on his own, like they were nothing. The only thing stopping him from killing Robb himself was his sword getting stuck in a guard's neck and subsequently getting jumped by a dozen northmen. Jaime was knighted at the age of 15 and won duels against grown men at 13. It's not about his family fanboying him, he's actually that good.

Again, Tyrion had his life on the line and could have picked virtually anyone to fight for him. He picked Jaime, when he could have easily picked either Clegane brother or even Barristan Selmy. That alone implies that Jaime's skill is real and not just hype, because Tyrion wouldn't be stupid enough to risk not only his own life but also his brother's otherwise.

>one author created his own language and built a thrilling world full of magic and adventure and tales of ultimate good vs ultimate evil that still resonate with us 50 years later and will forever more
>one author is a morbidly obese man who can't be assed to finish his own story, choosing instead to have it be butchered by two subnormal faggots, and as soon as the tv series ends, ASOIAF will go back to being as irrelevent as it was before HBO uplifted it.

No

*But to stay on topic with this thread, Aragorn would destroy Jaime. He's canonically a superhuman with like 50+ years of experience and charges 20+ enemies without even getting a scratch on him.
