Disney and the X-Men

So when will "The Mouse" obtain the movie rights to the X-Men?

When it buys Fox.

Never.
Or if the FoX-Men go through a period worse than or longer than X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and X-Men First Class.
Basically 3 or more movies that actually lose money, or barely pull a profit.
Even then they'd set a very high price tag for Disney.

But Disney has no use for Simpsons or it's other cartoons due to NOT BEING KID FRIENDLY.

At least Viacom has the sponge.

I could see Disney buying Star Trek off of CBS/Paramount sooner than I could see Fox giving up their remaining Marvel rights.

fag

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the only thing that needs to happen that FOX doesn't make an X-Men movie for 3-5 years?

I could be wrong, but can't Disney lawyers accuse Fox of damaging the property somehow? Or some legal trickery. They're Disney lawyers after all.

When Fox feels they can get more money selling the rights back than they can making movies

No, Viacom all at once, remember what happen to Compile.

I know that's the case with FF, but I'm not sure about X-Men as they always seems to have one ready to go.
Plus nothing's stopping them from just putting together some super low budget production just to keep the rights extended.

>Fox are capable of sitting on the F4 rights for 10 years
>They don't have money troubles so they won't have to enlist Marvel's help like Sony did
>The egos at Fox are too big to be willing to cooperate with Marvel, despite that being about the only thing that could redeem the Fantastic 4 name in the eyes of the public

In a decade, there might actually be something of a chance for Fox to make a new F4 film without the stank of Fant4stic weighing the property down.

Then again, in a decade, there's also a chance everyone who posts on Sup Forums will get their dicks sucked by their favorite porn star.

I mean, both events are theoretically possible.

Maybe, but you'd think they'd do it by now. Especially with FF since the comic was canceled.

...

I use to have that comic card...

Never ever bump

Hopefully never. I like that X-Men aren't just a carbon copy of Avengers, which is what Disney would do to it.

If X-Men is no longer profitable without jackedman Fox will sell it. Otherwise never.

dude, have some respect.. also, too soon, they are still counting the pennies just to prove how "successful" apocalypse was

Fox has shown they are incapable of properly using their movie rights. The X-men (and FF) rights should be returned to Marvel, by force if necessary. It's better for society and humanity as a whole.

This, fox is just as pĂștrid and egotistical as sony, if only they get hacked...

...

Yes yes regardless of how the films would or would not turn out I'd like if the films all need a marvel/Disney revival. But really, while I agree with everyone who wants marvel to own the movies I don't think there's been that much interesting things to discuss about it at this point. We want it to happen, its not happening anytime soon. Oh well, moving on.

Also I'm gonna need people to post more buff, speedo-clad archangels please .

...

some guy from FOX went on record saying the studio would rather put out some low budget straight to DVD movie than let the rights revert
it was really embarrassing for FOX when Marvel got back Daredevil and made something much more succesfull out of it and they dont want that to happen again

thats genuinely depressing

And petty. If they don't know what they can do with such rich stories, they should give them back to the company that will treat them with respect.

But Marvel hasn't made treated the franchises they already have the rights to with respect.

>implying I'm talking about comics
They'll fall in and give Rebirth to X-Men and put them on spotlight moment rights are back, anyway.

>implying I'm talking about the comics

>And petty. If they don't know what they can do with such rich stories, they should give them back to the company that will treat them with respect.

What company would you suggest then? I don't know of any that's currently making Marvel adaptations.

nigger wat
the MCU has already explored Cosmic Marvel and we are now heading into the Magic side. what happened within FoX-men in the last 15 years? magneto trying to wipe out humanity again? wasting Apocalypse?

>turn Guardians into Firefly
>turn Thor into a romcom
>turn all the rest of the Marcel franchises into ebin memeshit

"No."

>ebin memeshit
is this wat arguing has gone down to in Sup Forums?
back to your containment board

he's right though

>Simpsons
>not kid friendly
wut

Frankly, I'd love to see Marvel branch out beyond "epic action film" with its franchises.

>>turn Guardians into Firefly
What's wrong with that? Firefly is great

>Empire of Evil obtains X-Men movie rights.
>Worldwide celebrations
>Morgan Freeman as Professor X
>Michael B. Jordan as Colossus
>Cypher and Kitty Pryde are cast too, as white people.
>Just like in the comics, Cypher has a crash on Kitty.
>Cypher watches from the corner, Kitty Pryde making out with Black Colossus.
>Will Smith as Cyclops. Jean Grey cast as white woman.
>Media: Why are manbabies complaining about raceswapping male X-Men? At least Bishop is not raceswapped.

That was pretty funny, maybe we should do a "Shades in Luke Cage" to Storm while we're at it?

>Morgan Freeman as Professor X
... OK that's actually kind of something I want to be honest...

>Freeman as Xavier calls the Brood "Shit-Weasels".
