No. They turned it into a sob story. Häyhä was turned into a girl who takes care of a young boy who lost everything in the war. Then she duels with a Russian female sniper.
In-between they have a bit historically semi accurate exposition. Dunno maybe it's not as bad but even to me who doesn't really know to much about that war it just seemed too cheesy

to answer your question in the village I grew up in there was a small folk festival, it was considered very good though and people would come from around the world, it was cool seeing all the different people and the comfy music
