So I (like many of you) have been watching Molymeme's videos for a few months now. He has some good videos, and he has enjoyed considerable success, particularly due to the videos related to the upcoming US presidential election and Brexit. Now I heard people on here saying he's a cultist and his philosophy show (and I use that term quite loosely) is a sham and is merely a cult. I thought it was just Sup Forums being Sup Forums, shitting on anything and everything for the sake of trolling and whatnot, so I payed you no mind.
I know what you're thinking: >dailymail I thought the same thing. I'm aware that it's considered a joke in the UK. But then I came across this website: defoo.org/defoo/
Apparently it's a website created by Molyneux that encourages people to disassociate from their families. Here is an excerpt from the bio page about Stefan: On September 24, 1966 a baby boy was born. He was named Stefan. This little boy would suffer unimaginable child abuse at the hands of his family. But it would be worth it. For little did this boy know that he would go on to be the greatest philosopher that had ever existed. He would succeed where others had failed. He would live his values, though the heavens may fall, ridding himself of all hypocrisy. Were it not for Stefan Molyneux, we may have had to wait yet another 2500 years for a philosopher capable of advancing the human condition.
What. The. Fuck?
What the hell is really going on here Sup Forums? Are we being memed?
I mean I don't disagree but Jesus fucking Christ man. That bio is fucking scary. You'd think this guy was the second coming of Christ.
Dominic Reyes
A lot of people in the comments are saying that Moly is a gud boi now and dindu nuffin cause he's supporting trump and spreading the word about Hillary's corruption. But still man. That DeFOO shit blew my fucking mind. I don't know what to believe anymore...
Hold me lads...
Kayden Butler
This site is probably the most fucked thing I've seen associated with Stefan, even more than his "you should cut off everyone who isn't an ancap or else you're a coward" """argument"""
Adrian Russell
sauce? I've been watching a lot of this dude's videos the past few months and didn't know about any of this shit! I thought he was just a redpilled YouTuber. I feel violated, man.
Owen Foster
False phropets Follow the ligths of the Janhans! Don't be blinded by memesters!
Elijah Nelson
That guy's mother is a Labour councillor. If my mum was feminist garbage who worked for a party that let in a million Pakis and suppressed grooming gangs I wouldn't contact her either.
Jose Cox
Why would you not cut off your abusive family thats stunting your growth as a person?
Whats the problem with this?
Lucas Brooks
Keep looking around on defoo.org
He doxes many different people who went back on defooing, talking to their parents again
He lists as much personal information as possible about them along with extremely personal and embarrassing things they told him during "therapy" that he gave them, along with a link to download the therapy session
It's seriously fucked up, and very strange that a man as smart as him feels the need to do this
The content he puts out still has value, but giving him money would be the last thing I ever do
Thomas Robinson
I understand that. But my issue is with that fucking biography. I mean did you even read it? This fucker thinks he's the second coming of Christ. He can do no wrong and it's everyone else's fault that things have gone wrong in his life. Not to mention that he grossly overstates his "entrepreneurship"
Gabriel Martin
being right about something ... doesn't mean being right about everything - get a grip kids
Cameron Stewart
The guy is just really smart and dangerously romantic.
Brayden Williams
He does come across as a bit of a cultist but on one of the Joe Rogan podcasts he was on (538 I think), he cleared up the whole defooing thing, explaining that he always wants people to do it under the arm of a therapist. The fact that he speaks so well and advocates it is really creepy to me though.
Carson Walker
Take it with a grain of salt He keeps talking in his podcasts that "He always knew he will do something important" probably where the second coming thing comes from. And only thing about this entrepreneurship i heard is making a IT company and taking it public
Jordan Clark
...
Christopher Martin
I've never been to his website, but through dude seems to feel strongly that white families staying together is extremely important.
Honestly the only off the wall shit with him is his very loose definition of government force and government programs, and his stance that you should never ever spank a child
Caleb Ortiz
youtube.com/watch?v=CUoZBfz7r0U His redpilled stuff is just a plot to get more viewers and donations from le ebin alt right. He's still a crazy ancap at heart
Evan Bell
defoo.org is a parody site.
but yes, he is absolutely running a cult.
inb4 "not an argument;" IDGAF. Read about the kid who committed suicide after joing his cult.
Andrew Richardson
this is all very confusing... makes me want to listen to his podcast more though desu senpai
Ryan Bennett
at some point he realized we will never reach this autistic utopia with multiculturalism and so many dindus
Austin Wood
Well its kind of a shit thing to do to your kid. Shows that you hold social norms higher than his well being
Jaxson Ross
Exactly this. It's good to be able to enjoy some opinions of a person and disagree with others, instead of striving to idolize people
Julian James
Yes the way he speaks is clearly the of a sect leader but then i also think that cutting off a bad family is justifiable i intent to do it myself once i know i will sustain myself for sure.
Liam Foster
Kids commit suicide all the fucking time Hes not running a cult hes running a fucking podcast Of course some moron is going to kill himself if you have a big audience, and of course his shit parents will come out saying > boo-hoo not our fault in the slightest
William Myers
here's one example
Jayden Peterson
That's one of the more serious ones actually.
Camden Brooks
He sold out his Libertarian/Anarchist principles to get subscription money from the Alt-Right. And It payed off! Idiot's removed from their money and the cult of Molyneux grows..
His crazy shows every time he diverges from discussing current events and shitting on single mothers. Whenever he goes on political or ''philosophical'' rants, he's like a completely different person.
Bentley Sanders
It's pretty simple.
If things are great with you and your parents, then you'd never even consider walking away from them for good.
If you're considering this as an option, then the relationship might not be worth holding onto.
It's not like Molly is forcing anyone to do anything.
Stop being such pussies.
Grayson Roberts
Is he fucking many small boys or girls? If so, then yes, he's a cult leader.
Ryan Butler
Before Stefan went into meme status more, he was usually referred to as a lame cultist and people spammed:
I don't know why people overlooked his cult status with his sites as well, besides his decent videos, he seems pretty fucked to associate with. His followers even think he's above academia. And he's a huge jew.
>The Truth about Stefan Molyneux’s Inner Circle. >These are the stories of a few of Molyneux’s once most loyal friends. >Some have remained loyal, but most have reconnected with their abusive families and slandered the Freedomain Radio community. >This article will serve to expose their histories and hypocrisies.
what the fuck
John Diaz
This, something about the past decade is trying to prolong childhood to like 30 years old. You can be 18 and go to Iraq but for some reason moving out and severing ties with a shitty family is a step too far.
Anthony Anderson
Whats wrong with the statement >His message was sullied a bit, because he donated 1$ ?
Carson Murphy
As much of a cult as you can be online I guess. He's got like a special forum or something for big donators, an inner circle if you will.
However it's not like he's inviting people to come live with him on his big communal compound, in fact that's the opposite of his take-care-of-yourself philosophy.
Thomas Lewis
This thread again? At least you're changing it up a bit I don't see any new arguments here Check the archives and try again next time
Jordan Ross
You obviously haven't spent that much time listening to Molyneux. He and Vox Day have a video where they both agree multiculturalism only exists with state subsidization.
Leo Flores
totally normal for the greatest philosopher of our time to put this together to publicly shame people who trusted him enough to tell him these things
seriously read this, what kind of person can do this?
Wyatt Ross
Eh, who cares? People SHOULD cut legitimate abusers out of their lives. It's no one's fault if this kid misunderstood the definition of abuse and over-reacted.
Dominic Perry
My problem with him is that he never argues against any big name liberals or people that can actually put up a fight. He always cherry picks dumb strawman liberals or teenagers that don't even know what they believe. Worse than that he never even plays devils advocate with people with similar views just to see if their argument is sound.
I want to see him challenge himself not just stay in a bubble.
Ryan Miller
Not an argument
Jeremiah Cox
He went on Rogan's podcast a few times, and Rogan didn't go easy on him on a few topics.
He did fine.
Carter Smith
Molyneux started a private section on the boards titled ‘Friends Of FDR’ (Referenced in #1373 at ~ 19:00) for these dedicated few. Donations were necessary but not sufficient to gain access to this forum. One had to prove a serious dedication to DeFOOing. After ostracizing their families these “Friends of FDR” began forming their own tribe. A large cluster of Inner Circle members moved into an apartment in Pennsylvania (Referenced in #1394 and #1861). Stefan would make personal visits to this apartment to discuss philosophy and give advice.
David Ortiz
>legitimate abusers According to Molyneux includes everyone who isn't an ancap. Not to mention every parent by default since they haven't heard his gospel of peaceful parenting
Nolan Williams
t. only read the OP
yes, because joe asked molyneux if his wife was suspended from her practice for advocating defooing to people on line
she was suspended, molyneux flat out lied to joe and said that she wasn't and the whole thing was made up
Adrian Baker
>ABOUT US DeFOO.org is a sister project of Freedomain Radio. Our mission is to educate children on the necessity of DeFOOing: meaning to ostracize their abusive parents and family. We know that all evil in the world can be prevented through what we call "peaceful parenting".
This is not a legit website
This is a slander website by some idiot
Nicholas Kelly
>Apparently it's a website created by Molyneux that encourages people to disassociate from their families. I get the bio is weird but where's the "disassociate from their families" stefan pls dont be ruined ;_;
Eli Morris
>never argues against any big name liberals Check his newest video with the Dilbert guy
If you had said "he doesn't do enough interviews with liberals" I would agree
But obviously leftists/liberals are going to be reluctant about calling into the show and it's going to be difficult to persuade them to be open into debates/interviews
Nathan Edwards
>absolutely running a cult where's it located?
Owen Hughes
Stefan makes it clear that it is your responsibility to think critically for yourself. Unfortunately some of his listens don't and just go to him for answers in their lives.
I don't know what circumstances existed in this guy's family life so I can't say whether it was a wise decision to defoo from his family. But if it was an abusive relationship and they wouldn't allow him to honestly and openly talk it out then what else would you have him do? Maintain a dysfunctional relationship with his family?
Ian Davis
read
Aaron Flores
ya, WTF
Ryder Foster
how do they have all the podcasts? and why would someone give out the personal information of innocent people?
did you read the section "about stefan molyneux"? who the fuck would write that? and the section on his brother, where he talks about their childhood?
the section on stef starts at his birth, the section on his wife begins when she met him. he clearly is the author
Adrian Campbell
>Check his newest video with the Dilbert guy
You realise Scott Adam's is a Trump supporter?
Oliver Gonzalez
>Stefan makes it clear that it is your responsibility to think critically for yourself. If he's half as smart as he thinks he is, he should know that many of his listeners are young, mentally vulnerable and easily influenced. It's all well and good for him to say "they have to think for themselves", but in reality many of his listeners can't.
Personally, I think the "pathological bullshitter" theory holds a lot of weight with regards to Molyneux. He doesn't know he's talking crap.
James Carter
> he's a Hillary supporter
Connor Carter
whatever personal issues he has shouldn't "ruin" him for you
And the stores and biographies are just that. Theres no citations, you should take it with a grain of salt Knowing its coming from a very bitter person about something to go to this trouble to create a page like this (And its really not an argument as well)
Gabriel Perry
Of course I know that Watch the whole thing if you haven't already, he's more like a left-leaning centrist on some stuff
Michael Phillips
wow, this is some Scientology shit
Christopher Walker
>defoo looks like bullshit website
I have a theory that Stefan has always been red-pilled and that his philosophy show has really been a ploy to just slowly bring people into the views he's currently expressing: nationalism, race realism and even now, aversions to unrestrained free trade.
If all of us believe in that classic conservative continuum: "liberal" > libertarian > paleoconservative > fascist > traditionalist, then you could theoretically walk an audience through these steps. Most of us hopped on the Moly train during our own libertarian phases when he was defending Ron Paul and anarcho capitalism.
Moly's a smart dude and may have thought about this all ahead of time.
Joshua Adams
He does do interviews with liberals though, the problem as I stated is quality, not quantity. He should be more like Alex Jones and go right up to the young turks and start an argument.
Connor Long
Okay, so he should tell people to listen to him and only him, then? What would you have him do? What would you consider to be satisfactory? >inb4 commit sudoku
Cooper Ortiz
>he's a Hillary supporter
Yes, he means in an ironic way. Because he doesn't want to be attacked where he lives (California) He more or less advocates for Trump, by complementing his persuasive skills.
Justin Harris
yes
Noah Hill
What "citations" would you possibly expect to see?
Colton Brown
eww... what's that fucking foul odor?
Oh...
OP is a Jew!
Attempting to discredit Molyneux because Molyneux is getting extremely close to calling out the kikes... last show he did with Vox Day, Vox openly talked about people with echoes railing against the Alt Right and Trump...
Dominic Rodriguez
>What would you have him do? Have him stop giving bad advice to vulnerable people. And if he's incapable of that, have him commit himself to an asylum.
Adrian Perry
the claim stef makes about his wife not being suspended is verifiably false, he is lying
maybe the guy who advocates never talking to people again is this same bitter person who is writing these things and maintaining the website
and I still watch his videos, his arguments stand by themselves and this has no effect on them
I think it just shows the heart he has, and that maybe defooing can create a kind of horrible bitterness
Nicholas Peterson
kek
Adrian Lopez
A lot of gullible people act like a cult around him. But these are the types of people who would've became cultists or fanatics regardless of if they found and listened to molyneux.
Some people will cling to the first smart guy they hear because they never heard of someone smart in their life. As long as he isn't making a camp for people and giving them orders then it's not my problem. But if there is I'd like to heard about it.
Carson Barnes
Lmao Molyneux is a Jew himself and openly ridiculed the idea of any sort of Jewish problem on multiple occasions. Including his recent "Soros a gud boy he dindu nuffin" video
Julian Russell
>rare Esoteric Jahans saved
Isaiah Bell
I'm not a Jew. Matter of fact I don't belong to any religion (but I do believe in a higher power). Fite me fgts
Lincoln Cooper
I know he has some Jewish ancestry but I don't believe he was raised Jewish.
You also apparently missed the meaning behind the Soros video. Soros is only a symptom of a bigger problem. If Soros had right wing views, and was pushing the exact opposite agenda, you would be singing his praises while ignoring the corruption of the gov'ts that bend to the will of financiers.
People are waking up just now? Here's a thing for you newfags: Alex Jones, (((Stefan Molyneux))), Steven Crowder etc. etc. are cancer who you shouldn't be watching.
Carter Diaz
i got the point, it was just a stupid point that he made in lieu of taking the opportunity to talk about one of the major players behind the current wave of degeneracy in the western civilization Stefan claims to love so much. Really forces you to contemplate.
Joseph Morgan
>Have him stop giving bad advice Okay, but that's your opinion. It's up to the person receiving the advice to: 1. Decide whether it's good or bad 2. Decide if they should apply it/put it into action.
Sometimes a person won't like the advice, but sparks an idea they can combine with something that they already know. Or they'll come up with something entirely new.
Charles Taylor
On September 24, 1966 a baby boy was born. He was named Stefan. This little boy would suffer unimaginable child abuse at the hands of his family. But it would be worth it. Were it not for Stefan Molyneux, we may have had to wait yet another 2500 years for a philosopher capable of advancing the human condition.
In order to bring virtue to the world, Stefan would have to prove that there was even such a thing as virtue. He would have to prove that morality was not just subjective preference, but based on objective principles. Knowing that he was the only one capable of such a task, Stefan set out on his quest. He would enter the dragon’s lair and slay the beast. Lest the world be lost for all eternity.
Alexander Cruz
And you are just now discovering this... his delusions of being the neo-Socrates is fucking hilarious.
Molyneux is mainly entertainment.
Jason Phillips
That must be why they all have ear protection and stare off in the distance
Tyler Scott
So lads is this defoo site ran by Stef or some random?
Brody Ramirez
She's probably just mad her kid she was trying to take advantage of financially decided fuck this and left to make something of himself on his own.
Andrew Wood
Alright neo-Aristotle.
What a joke... albeit a funny one. I'd urge people to subscribe for the way he speaks and shit, something to waste time by.
Jaxon Foster
>send kid to school >nothing happens for years >they get raped by the gym teacher >rational reaction of the child is to leave the parents forever
ok
Christopher Nguyen
>pretending you haven't been shilling against Stefan for years
