I know that feeling but after a certain point it becomes really automatic. Once you've been driving regularly for a few months your brain literally just switches off when you get in the car and you do everything automatically.
Passing the test was shit though. I failed once from speeding, once from taking a corner too fast and then finally passed with 14 minor faults (15 is a fail) after pulling an all nighter before my test.
