If you were to write a comicbook and one of your mission statements was to pander to the female demographic as hard as you could, basically pic related:

How would you go about it?

Kill All Men

These queens be slaying as the smart & suave group of women team up to take down THE MAN.

It'll make Bitch Planet look like a Milo web comic as these women deal with real issues in their never ending fight to rid the entire universe of men, by any means necessary.

tl;dr Women assassins that take Mary Sue to whole another level - each issue has them brutally killing their male villain of the week and making quips constantly. Throw in some fun feminist facts in the gutter boxes, it'll be great.

Fujoshit works well for anime but I'd rather slit my wrists than write that shit.
So romance in general should work.

All male characters are little kids.
All female characters are mature women.

I adapt Yuri!!! on Ice somehow.

No female characters. Sexy men only.
Loads of gay undertones.

It'd be an action comic/ love story hybrid. Where the leading action hero female is a counterpoint to a vigilante boy. The two but heads quite frequently with the boy flirting with her at first and then the girl mockingly flirting back. Then Genuinely flirting back. However because of their pride their constantly in a power struggle in their relationship. Even when they make out or bone they switch from sub to dom constantly because neither of them wants to be the "weak" one.

The leading man isn't weak and doesn't back down which only enhances the concept of power behind the leading female. Before their love becomes romantic they have to finally view one another as equals.

So basically rip off Batman&Catwoman's relationship?

Stronk female protagonist.

Beat me to it

I would watch a cartoon of this, but knowing these kind of people they'll never commit to cool action sequences

Bears or Twinks?

Why not both?

Isn't that what Grayson was? It sure gave me a ladyboner.

jojo?

>Even when they make out or bone they switch from sub to dom constantly because neither of them wants to be the "weak" one.

Women like to be the sub tho.

buncha scantily-clad muscular men with long flowing hair and big hard throbbing dicks who are all really smart and sensitive and funny and want to spend time talking to you about your feelings

Probably best to focus on twinks. Bears are more of a gay men audience.

Make a story about how SELF-INSERT GIRL PROTAGONIST gets with the cutest, richest, most powerful and amazing boys despite being really plain and klutzy and dumb and having no actual personality but she's really a special snowflake at heart - basically take Twilight and make it a comic.
Lots of narration boxes for protagonist's internal monologue.

>How would you go about it?
Cast full of attractive young men fighting and suffering together.

No female characters at all.

Well, what category would the men of Supernatural and the MCU fall under?

Sort of like an... inverse K-on. Interesting....

Yup.
Fact is, a work being widely popular with women has fuck all to do with strong female characters or feminist themes or anything like that. Stuff like that appeals to certain groups of women, but not a majority.
No, the key is that, just like most guys like sexy girls, most girls like sexy guys. Sex absolutely does sell.

All-female (main) casts attract male viewers and all-male (main) casts attract female viewers. It's an evident truth to just about anybody except for the gibbering hordes of tumblr. The exceptions to that rule are main casts full of "queer" people, like Steven Universe and/or webcomics..

What age range?

K-on is shit tho

An anthology series, featuring series where it would be reasonable to have an all male cast of varying body types. For example, and episode about burly and slightly gay barbarians, and episode about scruffy and slightly gay pirates, and episode about intellectual and slightly gay monks.

If a recurring cast is required, make it about time travel shenanigans.

Cute boys (each a basic archetype like the fun one, the emo one, the mean bastard, etc) go on adventures for some common goal, heavy sexual tension between at least two of them and the secondary female character would be a far off prize for one of the love sick ones to long for but never really have until the absolute last second- would be beautiful and competent but have at least one damsel in distress moment for the cute guy to conveniently sweep in and push the ship harder. She'd have her own goal in mind, not really interested (but would be in different circumstances) in the pretty-straight male character.

The baddies would be more mature, sadistic, sexy as fuck and taller than the protagonists. Also sympathetic to some degree. But still way stronger so that way girls could root for the main hard. And make sadistic ships based on the abuse these guys dish out.

Focus on character interactions heavily but also move the story along with them. Really emphasize on the gay sexual tension that would imply many things- would tease a lot but never have them actually kiss or anything.

The setting would be a mix of supernatural and real life, maybe like some sort of astral plane, I don't fucking know. They'd be a vague young adult age like 23-33 but look really adorable in their own unique ways.

I actually plan to make something like this one day, will dominate the fujo market.

A normal comic, but coated in chocolate and pheromones

I would make DBZ, but without Bulma and Chi-Chi.

Bean poles
gay undertones
leather pants

Do you mean DBZ from their perspectives, or they're the ones that power up and kill the bad guys?

Superheros with hot faces and sexy chest showing all the time. Heroines that have no personality for self inserting in ships with male heros.

A heroine meets her perfect husbando that has chocolate flavored semen that makes her sexy

What?

Put a bunch of yaoi bait in it and have all the girls be wispy insert bait.

I'd try to make the yaoi characters cool in a jojo's bizarre adventure or castlevania kind of way and it'd try to make the girls t least enjoyable in the moeshit kind of way, less sex and the city, more nichijou.

I'd also make it some romantic high gothica, girls fucking love high gothica, but I'd add in some background Warhammer 40k stuff.

I'd add in a ton of romance but make it the kind of freaky dysfunctional 2deep4u shit girls like, and then turn it up to 11 and have the characters go through obtuse machiavelan bullshit to gain romance or break romance, and ham it up romeo and Julie style. Maybe make the main main chsracter some down on her luck fujoshi.

Also I'd draw everyone in it to look like pristine and perfect bishie Greek statue motherfuckers and then juxtapose it with some cronenberg body horror and Gothic Frankenstein shit.

Also I'd probably elegant all the actual good female characters into being lesbians, since for what I can gather lesbians are the only people who give a shit about female characters being actually good and flawed. I'd probably just make them bloodborne characters mixed with steven universe characters.

Also there'd be a lot of cute animal mascots. Bitches love cute animal mascots

I think it'd basically be something like inuyasha: heavy metal edition

Cute boys doing cute things with gay undertones make them buy the porn with hugs and kisses, maybe hand holding.

PROTIP: make them have different hair colors, hairstyles and skin tones but NEVER make them too special snowflake so girls can self-insert in the boy who looks more like them.

Put some funny stuff about guys like dick sizing and whatever guys talk about when they're alone.

I work at one of the big two. Well, worked. Believe me or don't, I really don't care. What I do care though is to tell you that we're awful.

Females—depending on the group within the gender and their demographic—are actually quite easy to manipulate we found. In business, it's true that we actually exploit them. A lot. They are easily one of the most profitable and exploitable groups next to children, all being materialistic in false necessities such as eye-liner, expensive clothes, and many other accessories that their boyfriends, girlfriends, etc. will never notice. Guiding there interest is also relatively easy, we've found, especially in Television. Now like I said, I worked for one of the big two, but I won't say who...but I will say that we decided Netflix would be a better avenue to exploit instead of Television, and that's why WE have Netflix series instead—because theoretically we thought it'd be more successful to females.

Now not all women are vapid and dumb, and yes, males are very easy for us to make a profit off of too...but girls are the most "trendy" and will buy more. It's just a fact! Look at the models, look at the studies!

Females, though, will buy many things if they're 'hipster' enough, and our studies show that lots of upper-middle class girls under the age of eighteen all want to be 'hipster' and show signs of extreme progression, also showing attitude of tomboyish behavior to differentiate themselves among other girls in their age group. When they don't do this, they go to websites such as 'Tumblr' to post about themselves, or "tweet" on 'Twitter' and whatnot. However, these young girls have many similar impulses and habits that are exploitable as women—they like trends. Being against trends is a trends, being against white malesp is a trend, and more diversity is a trend!

1/2

Because of this, our group came to the realization that if we can get these young girls who would pretend to be boyish and against the stereotypical model of women, then we could follow trends and get them to read our works. It doesn't matter if it's good, because sometimes they don't even buy the book, just spread the word and praise it. And you know what? We've gotten a 37% increase in female readers because of it. In total, 40% of our consumers out of 100% have begun reading us, and we don't need to work as hard as long as we keep pleasing them.

I think you all know which one I worked for by now, and yeah, I got fired.

You want to know why? Because I'm blamed for it. I'm the one responsible for this idea not working apparently, not the writers. And guess what? We're actually beginning to lose MORE,readers by the day. To be honest, we're not doing as well as we thought we were, and our competitors who "Rebirthed" their brand are getting more and more good press spread. However, they fail to bring in females other than one series lead by a particular jester-themed women...

What I'm trying to say is this: don't worry, we're going to suffer for pandering the overly-progressive audience. We'll have to get new writers soon.

If anyone has any questions about BMB (you know, the writer?) please ask away.

First one in the thread to get it

women want gay

> my dad works at nintendo

I'd pander to them by treating them like intelligent adults and NOT pandering to them.

>cancelled after three issues
Good job, now what?

make the gayest comic ever
no women heroes in it what so ever
women don't want to look at women, they want to look at a bunch of sausages

teh yaoiz

>ha ha well i won't say who i worked for but oops you know who i worked for
>look at all these facts about women look at how my idea worked but then i got fired because my idea didn't work :(
Is this just a really convoluted Marvel bashing post?

you went too far with this bait. it was almost plausible in the beginning, but you blew it with the second half

This is what I would do. They would be very pretty boys. All the couples would be straight up pandering seme and uke stereotypes. The uke would be you, the nerdy female viewer, a blatant geeky self insert with zero personality. The seme would be a childish asshole with zero redeeming qualities except for being hot, rich, and good in bed. Repeat exactly with every couple with zero divergence from the formula. All would be 100% Aryan and officially 100% straight with zero diversity. Maybe they'd be competetive swimmers or ice skaters or some other shit "sport" no one actually cares about.

That's for women who when you get right down to it fap to men in practice however they identify.

For women who fap to women, I would make a show about quirky nerdy female alien space warriors, with loads of lesbian subtext. Quirky humor with nerd references and musical numbers, lift some shit from Utena. They would fight to protect Earth. Maybe it could be set somewhere soothing, like the beach.

Women aren't very difficult to figure out honestly, shit like this would be super fucking easy. Remember that Twilight was a world wide phenomenon when it came out, followed by Fifty Shades of Grey (which literally just started out as Twilight fanfiction with the names changed).
>Make boring, bland every girl who doesn't quite fit the popular girl stereotype but isn't a complete loser either, you want the most lukewarm lego brick possible so anyone can self insert themselves as her
>Make tall attractive male lead who is shrouded in mystery, just look at all the current popular boy bands and girl magazines and mix them all together into an unholy focus group hell spawn with a six pack
>Make basically every other girl in the story lust after this dude, especially the popular girls who are often mean to the main, but have the dude fall for the main character for some really contrived reason
>>B-but, what about the plot?
>Who gives a fuck? Women aren't interested in the plot, they just want to see men with perfect bodies walking around shirtless while proclaiming their love for them- I mean our lead heroine, if you feel things are getting too stale even for the demographic you're appealing to just add another stud who falls for the main, make sure he's a minority.

Boom, you're fucking swimming in single early teens to mid-thirties spinster money.

I might do this but I would make a gay version too with a lead who is exactly the same but a boy for the yaoi crowd. This would capture the entire straight female demographic. You could just redraw the lead girl a little as a girly boy and switch the pronouns.

Anime already has pandering down pat.

For boys a bunch of cute girls. Either kind of yuri subtext or they are a harem for an audience stand in or both. The characters are shallow stereotypes and look the same with different hair.

For girls it is flipped. Hots guys either yaoi subtext or harem for audience stand in our both. Same boring stock characters and appearances blah blah.

Plot does not matter for either. Can be written by trained monkeys and drawn by computer. Or just auto generate and recycle frequently just change character names and hairstyles a little. Make sure it's dumb as as possible. Will sell like hotcakes.

Basically whatever works when pandering to men, but with the genders switched.

Or just more sexy shots of males and less skimpy females in books that are already popular.

Lots of sexy, beautiful men

Get Satoshi Urushihara to make a comic continuation of Front Innocent >tfw episode 2 never.

who?

spicy bdsm

>look past years
You could add
>look past decades
>Buffy
>Sailor Moon

>You can't show violence against women, or women committing violent acts because that's encouraging violence against women and propagating Bitch-Stereotypes

>The queens rely on men to kill men they dislike.

>"cute" artstyle that's basically just Generic CalArts incarnate, pastel colors for everything
>main characters are designed for the explicit purpose of serving as self-inserts; a shy awkward girl who's actually super special, and a snarky tough chick who don't need no man
>also some kind of sidekick mascot character who of course acts like a sassy black woman
>entire supporting cast is basically various flavors of cute teenage boy
>All plot and character interaction should be based around encouraging as much melodrama and shipping as possible, with constant vaguely implied sexual tension between everyone (even between members of the same sex) but no actual relationships ever
Everything else is basically irrelevant. The entire setting can just be a random jumble of fuck and it won't matter.

So, from what I'm getting from this thread, is that the key to a successful girl comic would be to make it about handsome, scantily clad men, or idealized versions of women. Or both.

Isn't there a lot of webcomics popular among women? What are they about?

This desu.

I'm not a woman so I have no idea what I'm doing
Throw in some big muscle guys with huger dicks and have them wrestle each other for the title of biggest cock on the block

Or is that male power fantasies

Fuck man, don't ask the impossible.

I want to see her stroking her ladyboner

A fantasy setting (so medievalshit, supernaturalshit, spaceshit etc) full of hot met that have homoerotic interactions with eachother.

The men need to be diverse in body type and personality for maximum appeal to all type of female taste, but there needs to be an OBLIGATORY "super handsome dark haired guy with a shitty past that's actually really sensitive deep inside" probably. He should have a tsundere dynamic with some other cute guy that's a more twinky happy go lucky kind of person. Female characters are few and far between and all of them need to be the innofensive stronk female that need no man type (power fantasies for the chicks) or innofensive wacky nerdy girl next door type (self insert for the chicks).

If you want to reach men, give them waifus, and if you want to reach women, give them husbandos. Ship-teasing, bonding moments, and gay undertones work like a charm when trying to appeal to women. That stuff is probably more effective than including actual romance or sex into your story. Ship-tease with no confirmed pairings gives the fans freedom to create OC that caters to their personal tastes, and an active fandom can generate hype that markets your work for free.

I dunno about female characters. There are fans who do ship male/female couples rather than just gay stuff, but usually it seems to be all about lusting for the male character in that pairing and self-inserting with the female. If you're trying to pander to girls, I don't think it matters a lot how the female characters are portrayed, it's more important to make the males appealing. Guys with handsome looks, mysterious tragic pasts, some amount of dark/villainous traits for a bad boy vibe, emotional wounds that could be healed by another character, and so on.

Also, anons like this miss the point The social justice brigade does make a lot of noise, but you can't make a product sell by attempting to cater to that crowd.

Well I don't know about other women, but that would certainly pander to me.

>There are fans who do ship male/female couples rather than just gay stuff, but usually it seems to be all about lusting for the male character in that pairing and self-inserting with the female

To be fair, that's also how it goes for men too. A lot of ships happen due to self-inserting as the guy (Starco, RonXany KP girl, the vast majority of Loud House ships), and it's just as effective.

>A lot of ships happen due to self-inserting as the guy (Starco, RonXany KP girl, the vast majority of Loud House ships), and it's just as effective.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold up there, son. That's only half true. We mostly ship straight couples because we're rooting for the guy to get some sweet, sweet pussy.

>girls like gsy shit
I wish this meme would die

Twinks pretending to be bears

who drew this

Not a meme if it's true

Same goes for females too. Way back when the Twilight phase happened I didn't care about it or the characters because I don't self-insert and Bella was just dull.

Or for any videogame with romance routes

Fire Emblem Awakening and maybe the new one too are good examples.

>JoJo
>No female characters
sure if you're an animeonly

It's by far the least popular chapter, though.
But yeah, the cast is all girls (that one guy was meant to be a dyke, but muh children, so Araki changed it to the most gay guy ever drawn).

Tali a best

>Annasui
>Not the absolute pinnacle of manliness
Nigga you gay.

> meme
> women like gay shit so much that they literally invented a term for it
> TWICE

Oh man, I'm still upset how them subconciously influencing the fantasy world never came up again (except for the threatre episode). I was hoping more gayness would come out of Yumeria being a fujo, but alas.

The men look like women and the women look like porn stars

But how would you pander to fat women without triggering them by pandering to regular women?

But it's true and it's bullshit that people are "cheering the guy on" any more than projecting onto them, most people here just self insert into some dull MC like Finn, Marco, Dipper, Wirt, whoever and give them a harem with the female characters they want because it's the same harem they the viewers want. Then a tiny but vocal group of shota loving pedophiles. But people who give a shit about them as characters. Same for girls.

The only group that isn't really just about self insert obvious fantasies most of the time are yurifags.

Make the main character a witch. Bitches love thinking of themselves as having innate magical powers.

Tali a shit
Miranda a best

Oh forgot Lincoln from LH. The whole reason that show is popular here is it's like a harem anime with incest guys just selt insert as Lincoln and they have a sisterfu harem. Men and women mostly just self insert with a fantasy waifu or husbandfu for shipping.

Look at Star vs. Guys project and self insert with Marco and give him Star or a harem of the other cute waifus. Girls self project and insert as Marco and ship him with their husbando Tom. They don't insert into Star at all because Marco is the POV character so girl self inserts are boys a lot, maybe more than half the time, leading to yaoi and slash with their husbando.

Weather Report is the epitome of masculinity.
His looks, his backstory, even his stand, he's fucking perfect.

twink men and bara women

and "not-really-penises and not-really-vaginas" genitalia because a lot of fujos like that for some fucking weird reason

>and "not-really-penises and not-really-vaginas" genitalia because a lot of fujos like that for some fucking weird reason

cuntboys, omegaverse and "robot" genitals are the cancer of fujos and I'd wish anyone who liked them would drop dead.

Someone explain this to me, I'm lost

for some god awful reason, the new(er) generation of fujos (mostly the tumblr crowd) seem obsessed with putting vaginas. on. everything.

The result is trans fetishists ruining everything by insisting that "it's still yaoi because it's man, even if he has a vagina!!" and literally 99% of fandoms involving robot (Transformers, Overwatch, etc.) having holes that are, for all means and purposes, vaginas.

Omegaverse is just some dumb shit with pregnancy and dog dicks, but Mpreg is nothing new.

It's because girls self insert into one of the guys for yaoi so thet invented this thing called ABO where guys have vaginas and babies. The stories are exactly like every other bodice ripper romance novel. Girls pat themselves on the back saying they're not like other girls because they self insert as a guy or that it's progressive because it's gay but neither is true. They "hate female characters" but the omega is actually a female character but a self insert. What's really true is girls hate other women except for theselves and hate all men except idealized romance novel men.

>The result is trans fetishists ruining everything by insisting that "it's still yaoi because it's man, even if he has a vagina!!"

Just like Futafags, got it. Jeez, fetishism is getting out of hand

I don't mind futafags and peope that like cuntboys, but jfc, it's entire separate fetish from yuri/yaoi.

The problem is also that the fuckers don't tag/mark their shit properly, so you can't just ignore it by blocking it.

Nope

Perfectly understandable feeling. Hell, I do it sometimes. But I think people like seeing the underdogs (Dipper Pines, Marco Diaz -- yes I consider them underdogs) winning/getting the girl in general. Who doesn't want to underdog to get some? Totally not projecting/self-inserting here, and I say that with sincerity.

Strong female protagonist who fights the bad guys and looks beautiful. Her main villain is a handsome rich older man. Almost the entire supporting cast is handsome men, some protagonists and some antagonists. There are some female characters but they are mostly fuckups who exist so the protagonist can save them from harm, asserting herself over them in the process.

Make a Barbie Life In The Dreamhouse comicbook and try to be as good as the web series

Nah, women that have even the slightest justification for using violence will get praised specially against a scape goat male villain.

Just look at Cain's Mockingbird - if they just left it at her getting revenge, it'd still be praised by Tumblr specially the tampon killer girl.
