Most people would not really know who he is. They might know the name, but not the face.
Here the Russian revolution is not taught in history lessons, but instead in literature lessons (English). Its done so through reading and writing about Orwell texts (Animal Farm specifically in my case).
As a result, communism and the ignition for the revolution is never really explained. We are simply told that some fat pigs took over a country by killing the royals and did this all for there own greed.
