Then you got the Rebels, who are made of the former Republic and want to overthrow the empire. Then they do. Then they form a New Republic or whatever the fuck.
The New Republic fucking SUCKS and is too fucking incompetent to do shit. It turns out that you sort of need an empire to run a galaxy efficiently. First Order pops up because whitey is mad that the galaxy has gone to shit. Then you have the Resistance who are made of a bunch of Republic dudes who are mad that the establishment can't do shit against Evil White Males. Their rhetoric is
