What are Russians like today?

In the past it used to be that Russians out of their hate towards their country and the tsar would turn to revolutionary ideologies and set conspiracies against their own state

Is there anything similar today? Because I understand that people in Russia are very aware that the state in general doesn't care about them, is corrupt and throws away their tax money

So are there any ideological niches to which Russians turn? Is there any form of protest against the state at all? Or is it just miserable degeneracy like alcoholism, drug overdose and being cynical?

The 90s that were completely fucked. When Putin came it started to get relatively better. So Russians think that Putin is good, but in fact it was just the rising oil prices.
Then people started to realize that Putin is not that great of a guy, and started complaining. And there were protests before 2013. But when all hell broke lose in Ukraine, Putin started to point at us and say something like: See this shit? Want to protest, then you'll get fucked like Ukraine.
But his kinda right in this regard tbch.
And also people became all patriotic and shit with sanctions and all, it's us vs them.

Most Russians are too stupid to know or care what's going on.

Unlike you americunts.

bump

Pretty correct assessment from my point of view.

It's funny))) Poland, Ukraine and the United States are discussing how badly is in Russian))) Last week I flew from Tunisia, in March, was in Thailand, the new year will go to Cambodia ... In Russia, bad? Well I do not know )))

Beautiful orthodox country

Fine, but anyway Russians don't have it too good right? And everybody has his limits, even the Russians who are very patient. So in the end Ukraine won't serve as an excuse for anything that Putin does, because people are getting more and more frustrated. So I was wondering - how are Russians dealing with their grim reality? Do they turn to ideologies? Emmigrate? Violence? Drugs?

I think they'll turn to nuking poland.

>Emmigrate
smart high educated russians emmigrate to the west

>how are Russians dealing with their grim reality?
I live my fucking life. Living here is not so heavy as to you might seem. Do not believe to the statistics, come over here and see everything with your own eyes.

Probably just like everybody else.

Most are just living their lives. Some are kind, some are rude, but most are just cruising by trying to provide for themselves and their families.

The guys that are typically alone with less than average chances to socialize or hang out with friends are the ones that have the free time to come here, just like most of us, irregardless of where we're from. (That would be the general description of the average user, of course not all of them would be in that situation)

Yep.

But you know I'm not talking about IT specialists right? I'm talking about people working in retail, services etc.

Obviously every Russian is like you. Dude, I have relatives in Russia, so don't tell me that everything is fine and dandy.
> Poland, Ukraine and the United States are discussing how badly is in Russian
Ok, Ukraine has nothing on you, you right here. But really, USA and Poland? You want to tell me that Russians are better off than Polish and Americans?

Dude, I'm just a blue-collar worker. If you do a decent work, then you can afford a good living anywhere in the world.

>Dude, I'm just a blue-collar worker.
What city?

...

Vladivostok. Does it change anything?

Shouldn't you be getting invaded right now, you pussy

>Vladivostok
must be depressing

There is one thing about russians and even all inhabitants of the post-soviet area in general. These people do not know how to live in the capitalist reality. They believe that if they got job or do some work, then it should magically bring them money for living. But it does not work anymore.
Now any employee should reflect on how to capitalize their working, make an effort to make your job brought you the monies. They must constantly learn something new, not just sit on the ass like a welfare queen and consider that they will have payment for some useless or ineffective work.

Why? I like my city.

old soviet industry, russian maffia, chinese maffia, always cold, khrushchyovka appartments, poverty, corruption...

How much do you earn, if it's not a secret?

>>that the state in general doesn't care about them, is corrupt and throws away their tax money

but generally it does not, or we would be like Ukraine

i would give local government 7 out of 10 compared to Eastern Europe

it is not THAT bad, actually

>i would give local government 7 out of 10 compared to Eastern Europe
where do you live ?

Nobody even wants to invade us actually, it's that shitty here.

Im from Alaska

Were neighbors :D

ukraine in EU by 2030 ?

Yeah, right.

50k, its not a secret.
>old soviet industry
Not so old, m8. Local factories either closed and handed over their area or switched to new hardware.

>russian maffia, chinese maffia
>implying that in your Belgium you got no russian or chinese mafia

>always cold
No shit, you should know better about that.

>khrushchyovka appartments
>implying that in Belgium you got no so-called social housing, which represents the same structure

>poverty
What is your defenition of poverty?

>corruption
The only real problem here.

Urals Region.

Do not get we wrong thou, i am fully aware that it will take tremendous time for us to reach at least Finnish level or other Scandinavian countries in terms of quality of life, no fantasies here, but we are getting there.

>Were neighbors :D
>Distance from Vladivostok to Anchorage, AK
>5,308 km
Sure we are, retard :D

Actually, most Russians are much more politically aware than the majority of Americans I've met.

This is why people can't stand us, we go and talk shit about countries which we've never been in and act like we fucking know everything, just stfu for once.

We can teach them America, they can teach us Russia, we can't teach them about their own country based on a bunch of media propaganda bullshit.

Shitty economy and corrupt government is still better than democratic missiles bombing howitzers in your backyard and moderate democratic terrorists chopping off heads below your windows. So, over 80% of the population supports Putin and over 50% supports the Parliament.

The 15% of anti-Putin people are divided between:
1) nazis who are your typical white trash scumbags just looking to beat someone up;
2) neo-stalinists who want to reinstate the USSR;
3) and the "liberal democratic opposition" who want the West to oust the democratic Russian government supported by well over 80% of people, put them into power instead (none of the leaders of the "liberal opposition" have a rating above 3-5%), censor all media in a "progressive" way and violently repress all "anti-progressive, anti-democratic" opposition. To achieve that goal, they've sold their souls to all kinds of degenerate globalists, especially Soros and the likes, but since those bitches (Open Society Foundation, etc.) are forbidden in Russia, they are out of luck as of now.

Well, it's decent. But don't tell me that you earned the same in dollars before 2014.
Also my brother in Rostov is an engineer and his salary is like 30k, and it's kind of average for his city. He goes by, but his parents help him out a lot. Otherwise it'd be tough.

>is still better than democratic missiles bombing howitzers in your backyard and moderate democratic terrorists chopping off heads below your windows

I'm no fan of egalitarianism and democracy, but that doesn't mean that you can't demand from the state that it respects your hard earned money, or that it protects your basic rights and doesn't act arbitrarily, and it doesn't have to do with any missiles or terrorists

But do you think that let's say, somebody like Pugachev in Russia can emerge out of the growing frustration? Or is the living standard still too fine for that?

Im in dutch harbor :(

Why so mean?

Why your city skyscrapercity forum section does not have a specific thread, dedicated to good photos and skylines of Vladivostok? I wanted to see some nice views of the city and could not find any content. Maybe you can point me out a link to a page?

What is Putin if not a neo-Stalinist trying to recreate the USSR? Please tell me you understand that the "news" you're shown in Russia is pure propaganda.

I hope Russia can become prosperous again, it's better to have world power shared between multiple developed countries even if you don't always agree with each other.

He is anti commie, you mongoloid.

Does your brother have a girlfriend and a car? Is he a young professional on a new job? That would partly explain the hardness.

I wanted to visit picrelated for a long time miself, because of the Kasta old songs praising that city.

Posting from Crimea or Eastern-Ukraine?

>oy wey at least we are not at war!
What is wrong with you Russians.

Great people. Based and uncucked.

30k rubles?

From Central Ukraine.

It feels like Russians just live through their problems. I am South Korean and foreigners always ask me how can we live through our daily lives with the constant "fear" of a North Korean invasion or nuke attack. They think we are always in fear and we all prepare for the worst. We accepted this possibility, but frankly, we don't really give a shit and we don't care.

Im not telling you that tho. Sure, it's not much in dollar equivalent as it might be, but I remind you that I still pay my bills in rubles.

Because fuck you, thats why :D

Idk, just check google maps for panorama vievs, I guess.

Also, I'm going to moscow this november as tourist. Pro tips how to not to get killed?
I have BASIC understanding of russian.

Avoid eye contact. We attack only moving objects.

Muslims, Christians and Buddhists live in Russia since the beginning of time

>I still pay my bills in rubles.
As do I pay mine in hryvnias. But life doesn't end with bills and food. A lot of things are imported, both in Russia and Ukraine. And those things are priced in dollars.
Both you and I became poorer. It's just that Ukraine managed to cuck itself more.

This is why no one takes Russians seriously, gb2 VK and use your brackets there, faggot

bearsmart.com/play/bear-encounters/
That guide will help you well, m8.

Just be careful and watch around if you carrying cash or expensive gadgets. Don't be light-headed in public because someone can steal your stuff from you. And don't walk around careless at nights

>since 300 years ago
You have problems with history.

Russia today.

The poor bastards have been scammed too many times by shit ideologies and have returned towards the light of nationalism.

Pretty accurate desu.
Only good thing about this country is being able to get muh guns and live relatively cheap (depending where u live)

>200 years
Still proves my point

Mmm thanks, I guess it's more or less similar to Barcelona, adding the "don't walk around at night".

>The poor bastards have been scammed too many times by shit ideologies
Russians themselves embraced bolshevism. People in Russia don't like the Orthodox-KGB Church, but they just won't admit it in public

With our shitty government we just need to wait a little longer. Prices of hydrocarbons can not always be low.
looks like a Murmansk.

>I'm no fan of egalitarianism and democracy, but that doesn't mean that you can't demand from the state that it respects your hard earned money, or that it protects your basic rights and doesn't act arbitrarily, and it doesn't have to do with any missiles or terrorists
You mean, like in the US, where the government is wiretapping and recording all of its citizens and puts people in secret prisons indefinitely without any trial? There are very, very few countries where that is the case, and all of them are small states with small populations.

Russia is a hugely criminal country, with strong criminal mentality and culture. If we started obeying the law, we'd have to put 100% of business owners, accountants, financial directors, a vast majority of government employees and 30-50% of the remaining population in jail. That includes all opposition leaders too.

>But do you think that let's say, somebody like Pugachev in Russia can emerge out of the growing frustration? Or is the living standard still too fine for that?
It's not connected to the living standards. Opposition is kinda strong in Moscow and St.-Petersburg, which are the 2 wealthiest cities in Russia. It could happen regardless of life standards or frustration. I just hope it doesn't, otherwise the country is falling apart and there will be shit like in Syria all over the place for the next several dozen years at least.

Bliad, have you ever been in Tataria and Bashkiria region? Look them up.

We do not divide people by religion here, it is a private fucking thing.

If person does not want to integrate in society or somehow can not do it the religion would be the last thing people will be concerned about.

Looks like shit

>Russians themselves embraced bolshevism.
Yeah, that totally explains 80% of the inner party being Jews and other non-Russians.

>What is Putin if not a neo-Stalinist trying to recreate the USSR? Please tell me you understand that the "news" you're shown in Russia is pure propaganda.
You don't have a single fucking idea about USSR, modern Russia, Stalin and Putin, do you?

Yes, Russia is a shithole full of retarted idiots and I'm stuck here. What do you want to know?

Russian girls are very beautiful

communism gutted russia of its "good" people. the rich european class was either hunted down or fled, the christian peasants suffered ever since

it's sad really, russia was on the verge of their cultural golden age in the late 19th century when (((they))) decided to fuck everything up

nowadays it feels like a dog-eat-dog society. people renovate their apartments to euro standards, while the building itself crumbles away. roads are shit but bmws are everywhere, etc.

>oy wey at least we are not at war!
>What is wrong with you Russians.
We're not Ukrainians. Thanks god.

models are always beautiful

So what? Jews were like what? 1% of the bolshevik movement in general? Russians just hated the tsar, like Pugachev. Bolshevism was only a pretext to snap back at the state

which city is this in your pictures ?

As a blue collar worker you should know that the lower oil prices stimulate domestic production of goods in Russia, so you gonna be fine.

Ruskybro's, how easy is it to get a qt Russian gf for a European who cannot speak the language?

USA has nothing on Russia either.
The US is as corrupted as Russia, except that americans know how to make it appear nice and "normal". But the US has the exact same issues as Russia.

Why is it that Ukrainians and Russians seem to hate each other? Yall are like two brothers who can't get along.

Did i say "Tatars" or "Bashkirs" you mongoloid?
You are so afraid to fight for your rights that you'd rather embrace your shitty life and wait for something good to happen. Not something to be proud of tbqh

Wut? It sure stimulates russian brands for produsing more cheap shit in China, but not in Russia.

>brothers
This. Some Russians have an attitude of older brother towards Ukraine. Like we are still one country and not independent so they have to tell us what to do and get pissed when we don't comply.
Prior to 2014 no one seemed to mind but war changed things quite a lot.

>>skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1181391&page=102

Just approach her, say that you will take her to Western Europe and you are already got 10/10 russian golddigger. Vise man will fuck that chicks, but never give them what they want.

...

>it's sad really, russia was on the verge of their cultural golden age in the late 19th century when (((they))) decided to fuck everything up
In the late 19th century Russia was a poor-ass agrarian country, with illiteracy rates probably well above 80%, almost 50% child mortality rate and famine every few years. While the top several % of nobility and merchants lived in luxury, all the rest died of hunger and diseases by millions - that's why people who had nothing to lose anyway ended up doing a bloody revolution and gunning many of them down.

Say what you will about them, but after initial chaos commies built decent education and healthcare systems that spanned the entire population, as well as a powerful military and industrial complex, science, etc. Too bad they didn't embrace private property and basic freedoms somewhere in the 70-s.

Your colleagues on UAZ car manufacturing plant would disagree.

Problems exist, but exaggerating them is not a good and healthy thing IMHO.

And Nazism gutted out the intellectual elite of Poland.

are you fucking retarded?

thx

>Why is it that Ukrainians and Russians seem to hate each other? Yall are like two brothers who can't get along.
Well, when the West seized power in Urkaine, NATO announced it would eventually set up bases in Crimea instead of the Russian ones, and Ukrainians were kinda supportive. Russia didn't have much choice but to secure Crimea for good. Which essentially meant starting a war.

And since then there's that bloodshed going on, which naturally causes enmity. Especially from the Ukrainian side, since the war is happening on their territory and they are losing.
