Voluntarism is a meme. Nobody truly interacts with society voluntarily and there is no economic or political system where that is true.

Not exactly. There's no commitment to absolute equality, there will always be differences between people in terms of skill and talent, only that the class system will be replaced by a classless society, and productive property will be held in common so the economy can be run for interests of the whole community, not just the capital owners.

It is precisely because humans are social animals that we cannot be in society voluntarily. Any society worth its salt would not allow people to leave without the threat of coercion since society relies on the division of labor and collective actions to exist at all.

Because first you have to develop property. By saying that you own something, you are necessarily saying that someone else does not. Society gets to decide the property laws, as it has done throughout all of history, and the cases when it has not it was only through the coercive power of an individual over others, forcing them to recognize their property. Property is not voluntary. Or if you prefer, property is theft.

The Soviet Union was, technically, a Workers State ruled by a Communist party (note the big C) and which adhered to a particular variety of Marxist theory called Marxism-Leninism. They never even claimed to be communist, but simply "moving towards communism" if you actually take them at their word (and I see no reason not to)

Words having meanings - communism (with a small c) means a stateless, classless society where property rights are communal and where wealth is produced and owned collectively. When you get a country that meets the definition then you can call it communist, prior to that either socialist, social democratic or workers states is the correct terminology.
