Shit. The last time a big volcano erupted in Iceland, flights were halted and it affected the weather.
I think it was about late 2009/early 2010.
My family live in New Zealand and earthquakes are common. I've been in several. It's really weird - everything shakes and walking isn't easy. I just keep away from furniture and make sure my family are alright. Usually after a quake, there are little aftershocks. Trembles. I was in NZ when the quake hit Christchurch on the South Island. Fortunately homes are built to standards that provide resistance.

I'm a fisherman in north of Scotland. I go out on my boat to catch whatever I can. At the moment there are loads of mackerel. Some sea trout.
Also crab and lobster - I have traps called 'kreels' on the shoreline. They can get in but they cant get out. (maybe a metaphor for human existance). I sell to restaurants. Lobster used to be a food for poor people. Now it's a rich person's dinner. Also mussels and other shellfish.
My wife doesn't like me going to sea. It's very dangerous as the weather can change in seconds. Reading the sea is vital. It's a skill.
I always say a prayer before I go. Respect for nature is in my blood. It is God's design that we can take food, grow food.
