Why do we hate him again?

Why do we hate him again?

Because he can take it. Because he's the hero Sup Forums deserves, but not the one it needs right now.

Because Dunkirk was shit

Because the House of Mouse fears him. Nolan is a champion of author-driven films. It's driving Disney insane.

Because DKR was really bad compared BB and DK.

i dont hate him,
his movies are good filters

WE DON'T, WE LOVE YOU CHRIS!

because his films are all white oriented

think of the last time he had a black guy in his film besides morgan freeman

it's the best movie of 2017

Think of the last time a black director made a film with a white lead.

shame

we don't you retard newfag

Because we're all aware of his actual capabilities.
It's like an extreme love-hate relationship. Most of us actually love his ideas, his artistic integrity and the execution of grand set pieces, but the hamfisted exposition and clunky dialogue/blocking keep his films from being truly "great" films.
You do not hate him like most people hate Uwe Boll, but you hate him because you see the potential of him making great films while keeps making the same flaws over and over again.
Not one of his films is below average in quality, but anons here must call it "complete utter dogshit" to balance out the general opinion of him.

We just think Nolan is capable of much more. And it seems like he finally listened to all of his critiques with Dunkirk (almost no dialogue, no hamfisted exposition, no poor close quarter choreography, a simple straightforward story with the focus on visual storytelling)

See my point?

Because you're contrarians

no not really

you act as if there a million black directors and they aren't automatically assigned to black projects like black panther and creed

he shouldn't have been allowed to get large budgets.

Old Boy by Spike Lee. It's shit though.

sex scene is great tho

Dunkirk is the strongest argument against your post.

He's overrated.

i dont hate him he's just mediocre and easily ignorable

Don't know what you mean with "large" budget but Dunkirk had a budget of only 100m. That's modest for a blockbuster summer film.

Because he can take it.

"Other people likes him too much" is never an argument for anything. Either you like him or you don't. Don't use the opinions of others as an argument.

you couldn't really call Dunkirk a blockbuster though

reckon there's any truth to people saying he's crypto reactionary?

I don't hate him
I'm not a big fan of his movies because the dialogue is 90% exposition and usually set up a disappointing ending.
Plebs love him because most of his flicks have a twist at the end. So then they can call it a "mindfuck" movie and boast about how smart they are for getting it.
So basically I like him as a director but despise im as a writer. It cancels out, so nah, no hate senpai

>exposition
why does this trigger so many people

Reddit likes him so we can't

Autists can't relate.

it's necessary but listening to characters explain shit for ages get's dull pretty fast, especially if you can show it instead.
But I honestly dont think it's that much of a problem in Nolans films in general, only Inception and parts of Interstellar.

Why is he so pretty, Sup Forums?

Because he thought we could be decent men in an indecent time.

His brother is a murderer. You can't support a director who may also be a murderer himself.

Fucker makes an almost experimental original film that no one asked for with basically no dialogue in 2017 that is not a remake/reboot/sequel/prequel with a full white male brit cast and STILL makes mad box office money.
How the fuck does he do it, how?

Nolans a big guy

Because he can take it

He don’t owe us people any more. He’ve given us everything.

Hack

...

know how I know you're not from the catalog?

The Batman Trilogy was a masterpiece. It showed that superhero movies don't have to be all memes and quips to get the point across.

TDKR isn't the best in the series, and it felt like a dog limping home to die...but it wasn't totally awful. And, it gave us Baneposting...something we can all agree is a gift from God.

I love Chris Nolan movies.

S U B T E L T Y

...

Hes never made a film that I remembered past the theater lobby

only (((They))) do, because he still makes box office kino

Because every time I'm skimming the catalog and see him, I think it's a Harry Enfield thread.
