The reason most humans don't eat dogs and cats and horses is because we evolved to have a relationship with those animals.
It's in our DNA to hold them to a higher standard because we've been co-existing with mutual benefit with them for hundreds of years.
Dogs are called Man's Best Friend for a reason. We do not have this kind of relationship with other animals, though, which makes it easier for us to eat them without feeling bad.
