Watching taxi driver with my step mum and dad

>watching taxi driver with my step mum and dad
>step mum says "this is so boring"
>turns to me for reassurance
>umm actually this is a really great film
>she laughs at parts that aren't funny
>she goes to the toilet
>my dad tells me women aren't intellectual enough for a movie like taxi driver

Why are women such plebs are their brains so mushed that they can't sympathize with a man who sees how disgusting society has become and his struggles to fix it?

Women are from Venus and men are from Mars.

my mummy loves taxi driver

This movie is overrated anyway.

...

She's right though. Taxi Driver sucks and only fedoras like it.

Its basically Fight Club of the 70s.

>can't sympathize with a man who sees how disgusting society has become and his struggles to fix it?
the whole plot of the movie went over your head. the whole degeneracy theme isn't emphasised at all. in fact it would be critical of today's Sup Forums browsers for developing the same dissociative and sociopathic tendencies as the protagonist.

don't forget that travis is scum too. the guy takes his hookup to a fucking adult theater, how more degenerate can you be? plus he sees women as walking vaginas, about the same as most poltards.

I don't know, why don't you quit being such a pussy, and beat some sense into your step-mom, preferably with a hammer, you fucking faggot.

sounds like something a nigger would do desu

Women are simply retarded, it's wishful thinking that they are just "wired different".

>fight club
>anything like taxi driver

good b8 m8 I r8 it 8/8

>look guys i can't socialize normally because im all deranged and stuff you know?

Edge: The Movie.

I like your pops already.

taxi driver is shit.

>i totally missed the point of the movie

Fight Club is much more exciting than Taxi Driver.

if you could go duerte on all those skunk pussies
Dead mans shoes is a better revenge red pill film though. get your mom to watch that will hit her in the feels

How old are you?

If you're not American and at least over 30, it's highly unlikely you understood the movie. So of course you wouldn't like it.

i watched this movie when i was 17 five years ago and i understood it well

pretty much only people with very low attention spans don't get it tbhfamalam, same people that said space odyssey dragged on and on

>revenge movies
The Crow

Your mother sounds like a fucking idiot, and you thinking all of our mothers are like that means you didn't fall far from the retard tree.

the movie was boring

>stop not liking what I like
I'm 34.
The movie was silly.
>astusimo can't onto women
>shoots up a pimp or maybe the last part was in his mind.

taxi driver was boring and mediocre. The main actor is this grumpy autist who hates people.

No it wasnt

Michael bay pleb detected.

it was fuck off

If that's your interpretation of the movie then you're either lying about being 34 or you're an idiot. Probably both.

idk i expected more and some interracial sex scene in that movie so i was disappointed.

It was 7/10 at best, casual shitter detected.

Fight club is a more exciting movie than taxi driver. That doesn't mean it's better.

1488 get

Whose wife's son are you?

that happened with my ex gf many times

when I play a movie that I like or a documentary or something like that she start to use her smarphone, fall asleep or don't care at all

all they like are sexual/romantic or fantasy/cute movies, I don't undesrtand it

Travis Bickle struggled to fix society? I'd say he was unable to cope with it and copped out on becoming a martyr for a cause he fell into by happenstance.

It's like he was a marine,twice.

should have watched "blue valentine" with her then to crush her fleeting romantism in one flail swoop

Tell her to watch Falling Down. Chicks can typically get into the overall disappointment in life/fucked by society thing without realizing it's a straight anti-woman flick.

No she made me watch fucking THE NOTEBOOK

aka noah's diary

I've only recently seen the film for the first time. I thought it was an excellent first person character study. I do agree that it's kind of one of those movies that on the surface is JUST depressing, so if you don't care to think deep about the context of the story, then you aren't going to enjoy it.

I think women just don't care to think deeply about anything other than themselves. Growing up and finally realizing that. Glad I'm a dude. Life's definitely gunna be more enjoyable. Who's with me?

If you want a superior flick about a former soldier losing his shit and killing people because he didn't fit with society you should check out "The Deadly Tower" It has Kurt Russell.

Checking this out, thanks.

I'm British and younger than 30 and I understood it totally and enjoyed it. Maybe you have more intimacy with the subject matter being closer to the 70s and seeing New York as it was then but don't underestimate suspension of disbelief and the effects of good screenplay writing and directing.

>when I play a movie that I like or a documentary or something like that she start to use her smarphone, fall asleep or don't care at all

That's just a hint.
When your girl pretends to fall asleep during a movie she just wants you to put it in her butt.

Spit first.

from your information I will share what I've gleaned.

1. Step-mum
> your Dad was not able to hold down a proper relationship to start with and has a skewed view of women (or your real Mum is dead, in which case apologies)

2. ... turns to me for reassurance / laughs at parts that aren't funny
> Your step mum is retarded, or trying to fit into your societal group, probably feels lonely as fuck and has a low opinion of herself. You may be her only link to happiness, yet you cut her off.

3. Dad tell you women aren't intellectual enough.
> In his experience. You might come from a hill-billy bumcrack town, or your Dad has only got the charm to attract mouth-breathers.

Summary
Don't listen to your Dad. There are intelligent, red-pilled women out there, but only if you have the fucking balls to find them.

You should watch the movie "hardcore". It's about a Christian father who has to hunt down his daughter who's run off and joined the porn business.

Since when is his step mom his mom

women are stupid and i dont respect them

i just have sex with em

> Downloaded Taxis in Blu-Ray 4K
> Still 70s a movie

I don't know what fucking movie you guys were watching.

>I'm British

Teeth or GTFO.

Fucking Giuliani turned the asshole of the world into Disneyland by the time I first visited.

The only hooker I met was a farmgirl from Iowa wearing a tight, white, slut dress while walking down Broadway. Her parents gave me dirty looks, but the pig still came to my room later.

Take away the degeneracy, and New York is just any other urban shithole, only 10x bigger.

Just thought I'd stop in to say how offended I am that people are comparing this movie to fight club. Fuck fight club, Taxi Driver is the greatest movie ever made.

If you guys were trolling, great job I am 10/10 mad.

My sister loved the movie. Get bent /r9k/ faggots.

>hurr durr woman stupid
>sincerely, some 50%er nobody faggot

>My sister loved the movie

I want to meet your sister.

What'll you take in trade?

8 of your finest burgers

This. The movie is both about the degeneracy of new york and the irony that Travis fails to see he is part of it.

>ScarJo WITH a hymen

Nah. Got anything cheaper?

Are you even white?

Thanks guys, now I know what to watch this evening.

Taxi driver/dog day afternoon type tales are dull in their nature. But amazing if you relate to them. Your mother might just be content with the world, therefore the theme as redundant.

I used to find fear and loathing a messy waste of time. Then I tried drugs... suddenly the movie speaks to me.

Be nice to your parents OP. I bet she doesn't whine about your lack of appreciation for Sex and the City.

last family event i had here we ended up watching jaws.
every 5 fucking seconds my older sister would have to get a rundown of what the fuck was going on.
>theyre on a boat
>a shark is trying to kill them
just shut the fuck up and watch it

>dog day afternoon

Am I the only one who thought Pacino looked like a younger, more faggoty Matthew Broderick?

He didn't cop out on shit. He had disillusioned ideas of what fixing society would entail, like assassinating a political candidate. He failed doing that and settled on helping Iris.

He's just fucked, hard to tell if it was just him or if Nam fucked him.

>watched the movie part of some film history class when I was 22
>enjoyed the movie a bit but thought it wasn't anything special

that's right

>there are people on Sup Forums who don't recognize Taxi Driver as the greatest American film in history.

>space odyssey dragged on and on
It fucking did m8. The book is shorter than the movie, and its a pretty good book

true

>Taxi Driver
>greatest American film in history

A Boy and his Dog.
Most honest ending ever.

or maybe he understands perfectly without writing an essay that would appease your english professor

explain what's so fucking deep about the movie that he didn't specify

you're probably just going to keep saying "you don't understand" because you can't accept the possibility that he does understand entirely but doesn't think it's profound at all, and that it's your own fault to find it profound because that means your mind is simple and easily confounded

>really makes you think

wow dude, you must be like a genius or something, how foolish to think that this humble movie could entertain such a great and powerful mind as yours

taxi driver is slow, but all of the death wish movies are fantastic.

we need more charles bronsons

>death wish is another great gritty NYC 70s movie

WE LOVE YOU user.

Watch Synechdoche New York with Sisters, literally walked out half way through because "this isn't fun." Then they turned on a fucking romcom.

>Why are women such plebs are their brains so mushed that they can't sympathize with a man who sees how disgusting society has become and his struggles to fix it?
they can, it's just that they're part of the problem

I live that movie, sometimes I just wish I could Shoot up a place of degeneracy to and be called a hero or at least think I'm one when I'm in limbo

>A Boy and His Dog.

Surprise, Sup Forumsacks.

youtube.com/watch?v=5BDxqhI9qDw

You can watch it for free.
Don't say I never gave you nothing.

Probably THE most red-pilled movie ever.

Eh, it's a good movie and I get the point but it's really slow

You should probably kys before you embarrass yourself on the internet like that again senpai

Taxi driver is propably the most touching movie ive ever seen. Im not even r9k anymore but still

You guys seem to have a different view than the majority of people. Most people think he just went full whiteknight mode. Then as usual didn't even get any pussy

To me he's an idealistic kook under the influence of a bunch of drugs, its hinted that he was a Marine in Vietnam but I have feeling that that might not even be true.

Its like watching someones descent into existentialist madness an trying to find some meaning in the form of saving a teenage hooker.

He's so set on fulfilling his own narrative, he ignores the fact Isis doesnt want to be saved and does it anyways because in his mind he's a big hero which is why I think he died, I doubt anyone would give a shit about a crazy fucker killing a bunch of gangsters and pimps in Jew York

>>Who's with me?

Mister, take your reddit faggotry and walk right off of this board.

blast from the past desu senpai

we should have a Bollywood version of taxi driver.
he could drive a tuk tuk and go on a shooting spree because the street shitting pushed him over the edge

>gypsy thinks his opinions matters

To be fair, that movie is pretentious garbage without substance.

El Topo
best film

But SO did drag on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on

>step mum
'Til death do US part. Your father is a degenerate and so are you. I hope your step mom leaves your family.

Also this is a good movie, but don't take it so seriously, feels like some stuff was just thrown in to be edgy. Good stuff about the underbelly of society.

Great movie but i still don't understand what was he thinking bringing girl to a fetish porn theatre
Like wtf was he expecting?

the character is like a literal aspie thats the point. its basically a portrait of the types of mass shooters and lone gunmen we have today which is pretty spoopy considering how old it is.

>step mum says "this is so boring"
>she laughs at parts that aren't funny
>she goes to the toilet

Wow

+1

You seen the "yms" breakdown of it? I think it will give you a big appreciation for it.

>yms
Huh? I tried searching YMS Taxi Driver, found nothing.
