There are some poops that are basically just sentence-splicing, which I always found to be rather rote. I don't have examples.
Repetition has always been a staple of YTP, though spontaneity is always very important, as being caught off guard is kind of the name of the game. Any jokes should always be very fleeting and implicit, as too much time given can feel insulting to the viewer and boring; give just enough to give your viewers the gist, and then move on. You should also let the jokes come from the source; it could literally be anything, like a millisecond of sound or audio that pops up every now and again throughout the video.
I've historically been susceptible to very harsh, abrasive, and rapid editing.

Start with a source that is familiar to most people. If you're not sure people are familiar with it, use the first episode, first season, or first movie as a source just in case.
MLP poops died out because people stopped watching the show around S2 when the hype started dying. Nobody likes post-movie Spongebob poops because the episodes are unfunny which really tie down inherent creativity when even altering them. People like early KotH and Fresh Prince episodes because they involve colorful, exaggerated characters in subtle situations, which lend well to exaggerated alteration.

I just installed Sony Vegas today and tried out some common YTP effects, turns out sentence mixing isn't that hard because even if it doesn't sound exactly like what you want your mind fills in the blanks, some people put in an image of what they are staying to help the sentence mix get across.
Literally all YTPs came from people just messing around with video editing software, just download one (I recommend Sony Vegas), watch some youtube tutorials on how to do different effects and try them out, everyone sucks at first so just fuck with edits until you find some stuff that sticks. I just looked at a video in Vegas and messed with it till I got some fun pitch shifts, reverses, mixed sentences, split second text to fuck with people and a short YTPMV, making the video is actually fun even if the humor isn't that funny. I will just keep messing around in Vegas and see where it takes me.

Why are these two so good? Because they aren't just random beeps, bloops, and making Mario say "Fuck" a lot.
It's because they have a story, a logical beginning, middle, and end. Even if the entirety of the content is nonsense.
It's way funnier if it's something you can follow as have structure, but being comprised of chaotic elements.
I don't know if this makes any sense, but humor in general follows that pattern. You have to subtly let the viewer in on the joke if you want to make jokes that they laugh at.
