Now we wait for the drop

>Champions had a Scholastic push
>still couldn't beat Big Trouble VS. Escape NY

Huh...well then

So Marvel won again? Top lel.

Publishers' market shares for October 2016

>Marvel's quality at it's lowest.
>Still beats DC.

House of Ideas baby!

>1. BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA/ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK #1 (BOO)

DC is dead again! Go Marvel!

Wait wasn't DC beating Marvel sale.wise and Retail Market-Share?. What's happening?

>inflated Champions numbers still can't get the top spot

Loot crates; the only way Marvel can outsell DC nowadays.

Champions is getting like 300-400K this month due to Scholastic bullshit.

justice league vs suicide squad next month. Enjoy the sales bump for now marvelfam

Champions also was ordered by scholastic. Expect a huge drop now that they realise that it's not kid friendly. Doctor Strange got a movie+relaunch bump.

YES! MARVEL'S BACK, BABY! DC BTFO! HOW WILL THEY EVER RECOVER NOW?

Is BP the only trade Marvel can sell damn

I have quickly imagined a crossover title: CRATE LEAGUE VS SCHOLASTIC SQUAD

I can only assume DC's titles are now all or nearly all direct-only once again after their disastrous foray into sale or return. Next month their share of dollar/unit will be lower again if there are any sale or return titles left - they'll all be gone by then.

It's bizarre that they even tried it without pushing a simplified newsstand line - even just quietly exempting the main Batman title from crossovers and keeping it free of continuity clutter would have worked out for them - but nobody other than LCS owners was ever going to order the bulk of their titles, so making them returnable was never going to be sustainable. Under the sales figures all publishers enjoy there's a lot of unsold and slow-selling books that are the retailers' problem. The fact that Diamond's shitty reporting is incapable of accounting for returned copies probably has nothing to do with DC's reasons for trying it out.

Can't say I've been keeping up with October's cover prices either, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Batman went back up to $4 along with other solid-selling titles. That would certainly prop up their dollar share for a month or two, but eventually - DC fans apparently being those who think $4 is too much for a comic book, regardless of the facts - the sales will slump back to around 100k/issue. Regardless, they're gonna do it if they haven't already.

Honestly? I can't help but feel DC could put out half as many titles and still get just the same unit/dollar share if they targeted the right books for cancellation. Half the production cost, same profit, and they'd almost certainly (legitimately for once) occupy the top 10 every month with actual sales.

But what do I know? Giving out pizza on company expenses at cons is clearly the way to go.

How the fuck is big trouble in little china on number one ?

Nice pasta, Marlel.

Lootcrate most likely

BOOM! is an exclusive client of Diamond so all floppy orders must go through them.

>Marvel over DC again

Wow, what everyone said would happen, happened. Incredible. Truly unprecedented.

what the fuck are you talking about ? its only a 5% boost and its because they literally had a relauch

Those LCS owners bitching on twitter must be crying tight now.

M-Marvel is finished, r-right?

Not really, this happened because champions was ordered by scholastic

most people saw this coming. Champions has inflated numbers.

Civil War not being able to beat Batman is still a thing.

And even then, they WANT people to buy Marvel, for obvious reasons

>0.10 $ have been added to your account

>all this DC damage control

>Big Bang Comics on suicide watch

They still have Doctor Strange and The Sorcerers Supreme and Civil War 2 as high sellers.

>Doctor Strange and The Sorcerers Supreme
Because of the movie.

Civil War II with Carol Danvers as a lead not beating a Batman relaunch shouldn't really be surprising

Both books are trash tho

>> 1. BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA/ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK #1 (BOO)

This deserves it. It's an amazing crossover.

>if Marvel sucks, so does DC!

Uh oh the mouse kikes are shitposting again

Better call the Trump troops to trigger them

Movie sales translate to tpv sales not floppies. And even still, it sold, it's #3 after two titles with inflated numbers.

All I read from DC is Sixpack & Dogwelder, I don't give a shit. I'd be honestly surprised if someone didn't realize this would happen. It's pretty much the same thing as how the New 52 went. Few months of being #1 then dropping back down after Marvel drops a few big books.

>So Marvel won again? Top lel.

HAHAHAAHA no

Rebirth is finally dethroned? Are people finally starting to realize how shitty it is?

Lootcrate orders from Diamond.

Garth here is such a qt.

And that makes you a happy marvelfag, of course.

>But what do I know?

exactly

>trade paperback volume

TO clarify because of you:
>All orders of BOOM!'s floppies must go through Diamond

It's just mediocre really with a few stand out books here and there.

My favorite title is Aquaman personally.

It's Batman #8 and #9, not #1, #2...
And it's Civil War 2, a crossover event, sequel to one of their most well known crossover and it comes after their billion dollar Civil War movie.

Also, Batman is great.

Marvel pulled every trick in the book to get Champions big numbers for #1. Now it'll drop by 80% and no one will remember it even exists.

Marvel's CEO is a Trump supporter.

>1. BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA/ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK #1 (BOO)
I did not see that one coming.

I thought comic sales were affected by the movies though.

I hate Rebirth but it's still better than Marvel's lineup.

Retailers.

*weren't

So these sales are actually gerrymandering?

Marvel is dominating DC again.

>I hate Rebirth
It's DA KEWL thing to do, baby.

They aren't dominating DC the same way DC weren't dominating Marvel

Marvel were dominating DC last year though

>I hate Rebirth

It's a #1 with a movie out. Even if customers don't end up buying it retailers are going to order a fuckton.

Bonus if you hate King's Batman.

Shh, let them shill. It's their unpaid job.

Yep, I was being sort of tongue and cheek. DCfags acted like DC was anally raping Marvel for the last couple months.

>I was being sort of tongue and cheek
>but I'm still butthurt

The only thing that matters is the comparative sales here. Year-to-date shows that comics really are growing instead of dying.

DC's boost was due to a relaunch, they don't have any big #1s this month and Marvel does.

...

Nah, the cool thing to do is be a little sheep. Rebirth is beyond boring for me and just because Marvel is worse doesn't mean I'm going to sing Rebirth's praise. If I count minis, Hanna Barbers, Vertigo and Young Animal then I can find almost a dozen genuinely good DC titles, if I'm looking strictly at Rebirth I can barely name 3. and the upcoming titles don't sound too good either.

...

Movies don't convince new people to get into comics, but movies do trick more sales out of the suckers who are already into comics.

Yeah but it's okay when DC does it.

...

...

...

>mouseketeers run out of arguments
>better post ugly pics
Bravo Marvel.

>This can't be happening! I'm in charge here!

>they spill over the thread about the latest Frank Cho interview

And company wars threads:

Yeah, I don't like Marvel but I'm ok with this. Their biggest mistake this year was Civil War's interloping with all the books making a lot of them unpleasant reads. Now that it's winding down and there's interest in the likes of Riri Williams and the return of the Spider-Marriage to the mainstream, business will be picking itself back up

...

You can thank Drumpf for that. All the sjws are buying more Marvel after the election.

>comic book sales threads are company wars threads by default
>implying that shitposter is the same faggot who posts NSFW pics here

#1's and events are the only reason Marvel outsold them this month, also Champions got a pretty huge boost.

I hope they permaban this fucker posting these images

So... what you mean is that's actually a shitposter, huh?

Then, why, I dunno, REPORT THE FAGTRON, you imbeciles?

So which are you? The mouseketeer or the NSFW pic poster?

>Marvel does well in sales
>DCfriends scramble to make excuses and call anyone saying anything pro-marvel a shill
>posting non-work safe images in an attempt to get the mods to delete the thread

this is why sales threads are cancer

Isn't that the same reason why DC was outselling Marvel

Neither.

t. OP

I'm out of this thread. for a different reason.

Hey, I did that three times already. I don't know how many times I can do it until they wanr/ban me for "abusing" the system.

>Marvel does well in sales
lol
>anyone saying anything pro-marvel a shill
Well, yes. Marvel doesn't have fans anymore, only shills.

>Well, yes. Marvel doesn't have fans anymore, only shills.

When you have so many fans abandoning ship, what remains? Exactly, the employees of the company trying to pass as fans.

I'd give it until January to really see if Champions actually has lasting power or if it's a one hitter quitter. I honestly don't expect it to sell gangbusters at all and probably settle around 40-50k.

The salt is real.

Good thing I'm phoneposting XDD

Oh yes. Now this is very true actually.

>thread already dying

MOUSEKETEERS BTFO

>implying it's not a DCcuck posting these ugly images.
