why would Springfield, a town of just a few thousand people have its own nuclear power plant? ... and then Shelbyville, its sister town, have a nuclear plant also? Either these nuclear plants are the most inefficient, wasteful, and costly in the whole history of nuclear power, or something extremely fishy is going on here...

sneed

sneed, doo doo doo doo doo
oh chucky chucky doo doo doo doo doo
you are my feed and seed
oh formerly chucks

You seem to be mistaken, it is a solar power plant.

...

brockman posting

>Either these nuclear plants are the most inefficient, wasteful, and costly in the whole history of nuclear power

Why would you say that?

You mean formerly Brockman?

The Simpsons is real footage.

They also provided power to shebyville

do you realize you can transfer electricity elsewhere, don't you?

...

Why are they privately run? Also I'm like 90% certain that the Simpsons is the reason why nuclear power isnt more popular

There is absolutely nothing fishy going on there.

cmon.....

the plant puts its power onto the grid and probably powers a large % of the state (although grids are often larger than just one state)

Something fishy eh?

people have always hated it because of shit like 3 mile island, chernobyl and the association with nuke weapons.

The Nuclear Plant nearest to me is in a town with a population of 672. OP is fucking stupid, as always

yeah cause chernobyl, fukushima, and three mile island never influenced public perception on nuclear power.

>Why would France have so many reactors? What could they have to gain from a huge excess of power?

>one of the largest hydro dams in the world
>powering a town of 15k

Why are Americans such inefficient idiots?

I'm sure Chernobyl, three mile island, and fukushima managed to turn at least a handful of people off the idea.

>What is the national grid

How come Springfield has been show to be in the desert, near giant snowy mountains, at the ocean, basically in every possibly setting?

Are you in Canada by any chance?

of the three currently operational nuclear power plants in my state, the population of the towns they reside are as follows:
6924
2253
2888

With Fukushima, a fucking earthquake and a tsunami hit the plant.

How many people died? Zero.

How many were hospitalized? Two.

Nope

That sounds like something Burns would run, skimming off the top of government money while barely utilizing the funds on the plant, paying Quimby to look away, and given the people he employees it could be possible it barely functions at all. Shelbyville probably has it's own shadow Burns as well for it's own plant.

m-muh radiation though

When were they shown to be in the desert?

just one of the reasons democrats are a joke

>inb4 some attack on republicans

its just stupid for anyone to be anti nuclear power

springfield is in the pacific northwest, where matt groening grew up, which has all of those environments

Do you live in Wyoming or something?

>not wanting to be a super hero

Multiple times, earliest might've been the episode where Marge drives away with that new neighbour woman (whose daughter babysits Bart)

Homer worked as an oil rigger once.

most people dont know a TMI reactor is still producing power to this day (its shutting down sometime soon though)

thats how big of a deal TMI was

Probably because Springfield is is Oregon or Washington state. States which have all of those settings.

the radiation is practically harmless. You can visit and go on tours around Chernobyl and take in the same ammount of radiation as being on an aeroplane for 8 hours.

Psssssst, you can transmit electricity.

Or they did what everyone smart does: built the nuke plants near podunk towns that won't matter if they get irradiated and wire the power long distance to somewhere else

>doesn't want Pokemon to be real

Well Chernobyl can be hazardous if you run off into the exclusion zone and trip on some irradiated granite. Fukushima is hardly similar.

>chernobyl

seriously this is like refusing to drive a car because some drunk russian crashed theirs

Springfield gorge and the surrounding area?

Why did the Legion want the Dam again?

To hide the transformers of course

Muh westward expansion

Yeah lets just put it in the hart of a city. Gee nobody would have a problem with that. If anything goes wrong oh well it's just an entire city that can't be inhabited now.

Also as others have said what is the national grid?

Simpsons is just liberal propaganda. NUCWEAR ENERGY IS SCAWY

The owner of the Shelbyville plant is a Greek guy who is supposed to be a parody of Onassis

Area denial, and to cripple the NCR who are dependant on the dam's power production.

Brainlet.

Jesus, do you people have a script? Nuclear Power is on the whole cleaner and more efficient than any other power source.

im paid by the democrats to shit on a republican industry on a tv board yes.

reminder, sneed poster is an underage spammer

Sneed.

what the frick is 3 mile island

Because is a top tier industrialist and saw that nuclear was the future.

In Canada, our nuclear power plants are located a couple hundred kilometres away from the big cities. It's not hard transporting energy, and it's safer for the location to be near a small town than a large city.

>and it's safer for the location to be near a small town than a large city.
And by that you mean, it satisfies all the fearmongering nimby's

Chuck's under new ownership

A centuries long rivalry between the two towns, perhaps?

>Either these nuclear plants are the most inefficient, wasteful, and costly in the whole history of nuclear power, or something extremely fishy is going on here...
Both are correct

>powering a town of 15,000
That's not how a grid works, retard. Plus over the past 50 years Hoover dam has produced, on average, enough electricity power 420,000 homes per year, not 15k.

Be honest OP, are you a literal fucking retard?

Michigan

Why is the Northwest so kino and home to so much kino?

The Simpsons is responsible for more avoidable deaths than any other TV series. Literally millions of people have died from coal-power air pollution because of this show.

The main Springfield industry is aluminum smelting, but it's never shown because it's boring.

*assuming that the Simpsons alone is responsible for the public's view on nuclear power
*and that you ignore other preventable deaths being promoted, e.g. smoking
*and that you believe it's safe to directly attribute those millions of deaths to the singular source of air pollution
