France is an awful country, I've been there countless times over the last 15 years, it is dirty, the homeless are everywhere, everyone is up their own arse and the restaurants have no concepts of hygiene, if you get a picture of a dirty kitchen in a restaurant the staff will try to physically remove your camera from you or simply try and attack you (right up until you stand your ground, at which point they play the victim).
