Admit it. The only reason you fags circlejerk these movies is out of nostalgia. Try watching them today without cringing.

When there's a movie from the original trilogy on TV it makes my day because I'm too lazy to stream it.

They still hold up, especially the Lovecraftian aspects

Fellowship still holds up. The other two suck. The Hobbit films he did recently are total fucking trash.

Anytime I'm hungover I watch this shit with my whoever spent the night. All these movies hold up and if you don't agree then you really must have shit taste.

Don't like the fag Frodo and Sam shit, watch the based Rohirim charges and badass speeches.

Don't like the quippy Gimli and Legolas shit, thats tough because it is kinda shitty, but the movies still hold up

The only cringe is the legolas comic book action moves like surfing down a stream of uraks on a shield while shooting his bow.

That type of action was on its way out at the time and aged very bad.

What lovecraftian aspects?

pleb detect

You're fucking wrong. There were parts that hold up better than others but they by no means are cringe.

I watch them every other month and they never disappoint. Are you an edgy 16yo trying to act grown up or something?

they hold up very, very well

hobbit is cringey though

The ear shattering fart noises in Galadriel's woods.

they hold up fantastic.

fellowship is top tier

>gandalf, aragorn general war stuff
10/10
>HOBBITSES and frodo moaning a lot
5/10
>superhero Legolas and comic relief Gimli
7/10

The only lovecraftian thing I can think of in LOTR is the Watcher. But then again he's just a big octopus, probably a minor spirit. Kind of like the Balrogs.

Of course there's plenty of lovecraftian stuff in the Silmarillion. Everything concerning the Dark, Ungoliant and her brethren, and Earendil's space exploration program is pretty lovecraftian.

>the relationship between Sam and Frodo and Sam's character arc from timid hobbit to war hero not being a 10/10 aspect of the trilogy

Pléb

>you will never be a cast member in a timeless film classic
>you will never form a special bond with all your cast mates while shooting on location in new zealand
>you will never watch the world of lord of the rings come to life in front of you

why live

Sam's character arc is good. Shame Frodo had to be there too.

Frodo's is a bit harder to understand. It's more in the details, and you have to understand what it is he's actually carrying.

Only recently did I notice he has actual friction burns around his neck during the later parts of ROTK, from carrying the Ring. Small things like that really add another dimension to his character.

>The other two suck.
Fellowship is the best but the other two certainly do not suck

>using le nostalgia goggles maymay to be contrarian

saw lotr and hobbit films for the first time a year ago, so I can't say I have any nostalgia for these films.

apart from bad cgi, forced sjw bullshit, oc characters, stretching out a tiny book into a trilogy, I really don't see any difference between the two of the franchises. In both instances, I did not care a single fuck about the characters, or the plot. For me this whole world, the whole middle earth, is boring. It's uninteresting. If the big meteoryte destroy whole of middle earth I wouldn't care. I cannot believe this is the greatest fantasy series of all time. I refuse to believe this shit.

They're not bad films but I will never rewatch them.

LOOK MOM I POSTED IT AGAIN!!!!

this whole post is like something out of a psychology textbook.

t. Hobbit fag

kek, m8, i just replay for laziness and shitposter. an idiot is posting this Lovecraft stuff on every thread

Well he's not particularly wrong

I have no idea what that means, but whatever.

just watched it again user, still a masterpiece and no surprise, you're still a faggot
