I like the director's changes from source material especially splitting anime Light's good and psychotic personalities into movie Light and movie Mia. It made the movie more enjoyable to watch for me. I'm looking forward to the sequel.
I already knew years ago about Death Note and the Japanese live-action but did not watch any of them because anime Light was not a character that I would enjoy watching.
