It means watching a whole episode at 1x speed, which can feel like a 'marathon' if you're used to watching most shows at some higher speed. And yes this is a real thing that real people do to keep up with multiple shows and movies that are currently released as well as catching up on older shows. Amateur fans, film school students, and professional critics all do this and it doesn't need to generate a meme response every time it's brought up.

IT just came out on Netflix. Kind of a comedy/mockumentary about a kid being accused of spray painting dicks all over the teachers cars. A spoof on making a murderer type shows. It's really well done.
