Then why is there still fighting between the two? Why are there operators enforcing a ceasefire? We all know the arabs in the sdf are not fighting the rebels; Obama does not have credibility, the rebels will continue to fight the ypg and there will be more bloodshed on the battlefield, especially in Manbij.

I wish Turks would roll faster. The combat footage coming out of Euphrates Shield is fucking solid.
Turks: fuck more shit up and make sure you record that junk.
These descriptions are very ugly, it is offensive and an insult to our religion. There is no moderate or immoderate Islam. Islam is Islam and that's it. - Recep Tayyip Erdoğan

can someone tell me what the fuck is going on? i'm just jumping into this now
why are we against the rebel forces? why are we for assad? order? stability?
can someone give me a basic rundown of this whole thing & the factions, please?
Jason Scott
SDF just took it from ISIS with US air and sf support. I highly doubt the turks would defy US that much also it's unlikely that they have russian permission to go more than a few tens of km inside of Syria. Sure their pet rebels might go by themselves, but they are kinda useless without the tanks and the artillery/air support.
Oliver Hill
You are the most based fucking Turk I've ever seen. Thank you.
Luke Miller
You're retarded, the us agreed to ypg moving east of euphrates. Erdogan is waiting for them to do so, if they don't they will move in eventually. Manbij will be captured.
Adrian Torres
here's the tldr
Isaac Myers
You are on Sup Forums and you wonder why /sg/ is pro Assad? I find it strange that lately we have very many 'newcomers' who demand to be informed. A new thread sliding tactic perhaps? The OP has A LOT of information and you wouldn't be giving such basic questions if you had gone through it, so chop chop.
Cooper Hill
How long until the war is won?
Bentley Ramirez
Numerous amount islamic zealot warbands are trying to remove Syrian state from the maps while Syrian state (And friends) are frying their terrorist muslim asses.
Some rebels are hired by Gulf states, some by turks and some by other countries. But their mission is the same - destroy the syrian state and estabilish their sharia alah - babah shit.
Thats the tldr from the Ivan the anonymous
Jayden Brooks
Shush, it's probably the windfall form the recent media blitz that /Sup Forums received. We should do out best and coax them to the right side. Assad's side.
Bentley Reed
>I don't know this one thing stated by the US therefore I am retarded. Are you 12? Thanks be to the gods that at least you, the enlightened one, are not retarded. You are not the first autist to give "100%" predictions here you know. I don't recall Syria forsaking its territorial integrity, are you trying to imply the turks could just roll their tanks to Damascus? Let's wait and see smartass.
Blake Lopez
I want to clear up a few things for those who may be new here. SG is a pro-Assad general. As the secular, elected, internationally recognized president, his army is the only thing holding Syria back from balkanization. Assad is supreme commander of the war effort, at the head of a dynasty of kebab removal. He is arch-nemesis of the Jews. He's our guy.
-SG tolerates minority opinions, even shitskin ones, (though it may be our downfall) much like the Assad government. Turks, Zionists, takfiris, Hill shills, and moderate beheaders can all be found here, but do not mistake their lunacy for the norm.
As any longtime lurker can tell you, in five years of war Assad has literally never stopped being the strongest force in Syria. Now the rebellion looks like they have maybe another year until they are eradicated.
-lots of people around here admire the Kurds and Rojava. Those same people often realize that, from a military standpoint, their fanclub is basically State Dept disinfo. There is nothing wrong with rooting Kurd or fapping to qts (Kurd posters and anime posters overlap) but its obvious that Kurds can only hold territory when the far larger Arab factions are fighting one another.
Hope you enjoy our threads! Make Syria great again!
We have to dispel this fiction that anime posters are also kurd posters.

This needs to be saved somehow. How was everyone's day btw?

My point still stands, we must not have 40 replies every thread dealing with the greenhorns. Look at the wordpress site alone, so many resources. Let's be nice but succinct.

>sniper shoots at police >police shoots at crowd something doesn't seem very right here
Xavier Morales
that clears up a lot, thanks
i've been browsing Sup Forums for a little while now, and i support the traditional & orderly ideals and naturally supported assad myself, just never really went into middle east politics as far as that. it's just there's some dude i know irl at my workplace who's started to constantly talk about the YPG & SDF and those other rebel factions and is a full-on socialist
thanks for the help though phillipines & russia bros, i can always count you

Wrong. To turn away people on the fence - possible supporters - especially if it only takes an extremely simple effort - a few posts or something, is a bad level of laziness. If we do not provide them our side of the story, then the resident takfirs will gladly do so and make more opponents.
Owen Stewart

You can find out about Assad, Russia, america, the turks and the Kurds from other posts. This post is about Islamic paramilitaries.
REBELS: The sunni majority in Syria rose up in order to gain control from Shiites and minorities. Think Serbia in the yugoslav wars, but unlike the Serbs they didn't get their hands on enough military hardware.
There are way too many anti Assad groups, Islamist or secular, to exercise real control. Hardcore islamists ISIS and al-qaeda (al-nusra) control more trrritory than FSA, and they constantly siphon off resources as well. Since nobody wants them in power, there's not really a legitimate candidate for western support on the rebel side.
On Assad's side there are the yellow banners, legions of Shiite fighters from Lebanon and Iraq. Hezbollah, bane of Israel, is heavily involved on the Aleppo front. These are also assisted by the Iranian IRGC, (Islamic revolutionary guard corps) who created Hezbollah and other yellow banner divisions.
Wyatt Rogers
Or the takfiris could organise a few dozen fake newcomers and let you kill the threads with your goodwill. Stay vigilant. Don't forget, we need not coax anyone. Just give people the truth and the rational ones will naturally agree, the jihadi fans shill so much because their actual case is shit. I've said my piece, goodnight and stay comfy.
Nicholas Cox
assad is just a nerd who doesnt know how to dictator.
Robert Parker
>kill the threads with your goodwill. Literally no such thing. You are saying that they want us to kill our threads by spreading our point of view in a polite and persuasive manner.
Can you see why that is stupid?
Matthew Robinson
>Way back in 2011, some kids were inspired by the CIA-backed "Arab Spring" to write some anti-Assad graffiti. Local police beat the kids up so bad they died >Protests kicked up >Even though Assad not only fired the police chief and attended the funerals of the kids, the protests got violent as bullets started flying from both anti-Assad and pro-Assad >Anti Assad Rebels is made up of Arab Sunnis (many of whom had been fighting in Iraq with Al-Qaeda since 2005) >Pro Assad is made up of everyone else >Kurds just take advantage of the chaos to try and establish their own country >Pro Assad crushing the rebels at first >Obama, trying to make muslims look good, needs Syria to flip into a "democracy" just like all the other dominoes he had lined up >He and his Saudi/Gulf Demon friends send guns and mortars from "liberated" Libya, TOW missiles, money, etc to the rebels, Al Qaeda and ISIS (before they were ISIS) >Things get rough for the regime >Obama desperately trying to shine as defender of democracy >Isnt working out, his other pet projects are turning into unstable, Islamist shitholes >ISIS sweeps through rebel territory and declares itself ISIS, eats into Iraq >Assad is just trying to hold on. Their bro Iran comes to help, but Assad is still losing ground. The end seems niegh >Until Russia steps in >Turns the tide of the war in Assad's favor >Obama and friends freak out, try to undermine Russia and increase funding to rebel groups >Russia bombs them too >Now Obama and friends are trying to get Putin to fall into the PR trap by talking about "ceasefires" and "peace" now, hoping they can lure him away from Syria enough to bring things back to what they were Dont get me started on the Turks
Landon Gutierrez
>Guy in a crowd is standing with rifle pointed at police >He just brought it defend himself
It is alright to point guns at police in Turkey? If police officer is trying to arrest you in Turkey can you defend yourself and arrest him instead?
Jacob Butler
we do have places in Istanbul where a war will break out if you try to arrest someone lol >rifle pointed at police source? and also how can they not when the police is known to get uppity?

>The sunni majority in Syria rose up this meme needs to die, the army is majority sunni and you fucking know it The Serbia comparison is factually wrong too, disinfo on top of disinfo, very nice.

New ISIS magazine launched called "Ramiyah." Features dead Aussie (sorry "Aussie") jihadis, warnings against Australia, chastising women for not donating their jewelry to the Khalifa and more.
I read the copy in French and it appears the English-language one was already nuked.
What is thread sliding? I've lurked /sg/ for years and yes if the threads will be just filled with greeting messages it would be pure cancer for anyone who has been around for more than a few weeks. Not much different than the constant bickering with turks, spamming the thread with pictures of dead kurds that have been posted for 6 gorrilion times etc. You are making it out that there isn't even a shred of reasonableness in what I said. Well I am VERY SORRY I don't 100% agree with you on this one thing. Now would you mind being a bit less of a self-righteous prick? Thanks, goodnight.
Asher Foster
>The sunni majority in Syria rose up in order to gain control from Shiites and minorities. You seem to be leaving out the fact that Western NGOs have been fueling discontent in the ME for decades in preparation for the "Arab Spring". Much of what you said was true, but out of context.
>rebel forces Jihadists from shitholes like Saudi Arabia are not "rebels". "FSA" and other "syrian moderates" are myths which doesn't actually exist outside western MSM and twitter. On the ground, its ISIS, Nursa, Al-Sham and other "behead all kaffirs and murtads" crowd.
Jordan Stewart
>spamming the thread with pictures of dead kurds there absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Jaxon Wood
Last several threads were so infested with moderate terrorists that I thought /sg/ is gone for good.
Juan Price
Context would have taken lectures on Libya, Iraq, Lebanon, and Syrian history. I expect even scrubs to know NATO and Saudi Arabia are funding all this.
Julian Fisher
No, it's because you're being a paranoid little shit. Do you even know what thread sliding is?
The point of thread sliding is - this - thread doesn't get bumped so that shills could make new threads fast enough to push it off the front page. If anything, psyops that make us NOT want to post is a more likely slide operation.
Look, I don't really care if you don't want to give info to noobs, at the end of the day but don't tell them to fuck off either. Just ignore them like you do roaches, and the rest of us will handle them.
Julian Campbell
The problem with the serb comparison is that serbs were very much in control of Yugoslavia and fought to retain the status quo. Well you failed to mention that not all of them rose up, in reality the majority of the more wealthy urban sunnis support the government, because they have a stake in this society. The backbone of the memerising was the rural tribal sunnis who are very prone to wahhabism and similar bullshit. Also let's not pretend that the FSA actually exists at this point please.
Christopher Adams
What are the estimated death totals civilian and combatant in Syria?
Ayden Perry
Pretty sure that's one of Qaddafi's green nuns.
Wyatt Bailey
My two cents, upon learning that this is about sand people. Europe cooperates with other power nations to build wall around Middle East.
Build weapon that makes other modern weapons stop functioning. -use in Middle East inside wall.
Build lots of seating on walls, with speakers, and people who sell popcorn.
AirDrop swords into Middle East at random locations.
Return refugees to Middle East
Refugees and Isis all get swords
Advertise this on all tv
Throw down just enough food for one of the two groups to survive.
Let them fight!
Make profit off of people watching the Middle East continue its regular bloodbath, but with swords.
Let one group win- award with food and other fun stuff like Legos and black dresses that show ankle.
-let them enjoy their victory
-sneakily take all oil
-nuke Middle East
Problem solved. I just stopped terrorism! And the refugee crisis!
Go home, eat burger.
Adrian Bennett
Not really. Even a simple, short phrase like "The west coaxed..." (the sunni majority of Syria...etc) gives a proper context, though the info is still short. The way I read it, it seemed as if the population rose up on their own accord, without the taint pf external influence.
Hunter Fisher
is it bad this gave me a boner?
Noah Parker
Reportedly about 400,000. Nobody will really have a better number than that until it's over and central authority is reinstated.

Actualy they are rather low. About 300k dead militants and like 1-2m displaced civilians.

How can you tell?

And how is this sliding?
Shilling, yes. We've had a lot of shills since forever. What is your point?
