But Baby Driver was actually good

>Drive(2011)
>Baby Driver(2017)
>6 years
It's the same generation user.

no

forgotten within months, if not already.

Yes

too lovecraftian and unoriginal

>garbage music
>shit acting
>absolutely retarded action scenes
>exposition out the ass
baby reddit. this shit sucked

Who the fuck watches this and thinks "cool"

Every scene is meant to get that reaction from you

"Cool"

It's brutal.

>this movie is tailored in a way to make you think it's cool
>who the fuck thinks this is cool

Am I misunderstanding what you're trying to say or are you the type of guy who thinks sad scenes in film aren't sad because the soundtrack is 'emotinally manipulative'

>baby reddit
yeah fuck reddit lol

Misunderstanding

Enjoy your Sons of Anarchy DVDs

your complex humour is too intelligent for me.

driver for babies

Pretty badly overwritten cliche filled generic mess that goes on for 30 minutes too long.
Also Kevin Spacey playing Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx playing Jamie Foxx.

genuinely can't tell if you're talking about Baby Driver or Drive

Loved the movie but it could cut some 15 or 20 minutes of the movie and make it better.

>drive of our generation?
why the fuck does everyone compare it to Drive they are completely different types of movies just becaues they have drive in the title and involve cars doesn't mean anything you fucking autist.

Do you think Drive copied Fast and furious aswell? go fuck yourself

they're both about cute white getaway drivers who rarely speak and are insanely gifted behind the wheel and get crazy violent

6.5/10

I think people saying it was trash are just being total contrarians. Ik people can have their own opinions but you can't deny it was a very well-made movie with some really cool () moments.
It WAS a disappointment though, with plenty of weak spots, and I think it could have been way better and if it had been done right, and still by Edgar Wright, it could have been movie of the year easily. I'd give it a 6 or 7 out of 10. Definitely expected better but still had plenty of good to it.

this

stop shilling your shitty "analysis" you worthless faggot

Nice spacing

>so whats the verdict?
Worst Wright film, but it's still decent

This character might've been cute, but holy shit was she underwritten. Seriously, we know nothing about her by the end of the film. Only decent character was Jon Hamm's; it's a damn shame since Wright has always been on the ball with this shit.

Was pretty shit really

I really fucking disliked the music bits.
When he's listening to music and dances around like...this ain't High School Musical what the fuck.
Drive is miles better. In fact, they shouldn't even be compared.

this it was obnoxious and it clashed with the harsh way it portrayed the robbing business and crazy murderers like foxx

>this it was obnoxious and it clashed with the harsh way it portrayed the robbing business and crazy murderers like foxx
he literally stops doing it as soon as what you said happens?? Did any of you actually watch the film?

Those are pretty much my feelings about it. It's enjoyable, but has some pretty serious weak spots. Wright has said that he came up with the idea in 1994, and I totally believe that; it kind of comes off like something that had been sitting in his head for long enough that certain aspects of characterization and plot didn't need to be fleshed out to him.

Drive
>retro-80s nostalgia hollowness
>main character is a robot without an inch of humanity throughout the movie
>violence is without substance, made pornographic
>very little dialogue, what it does have ranges from exposition to ham
>cinematography is conflicted, Refn's style isn't used for narrative, but more for flash
>all the women are disposable plastic whores, mutes, or the perfect love interest
>all the men are sadistic cliches or else "a good guy"
>perpetuates the "vicious murderer with a heart of gold" cancer
>ending is a ludicrous shank-off in a parking lot with the main character all but smiling and winking at the camera
>Sup Forums pseud autists fall in love with it

Baby Driver
>soundtrack ties to directly what's happening on the screen, movie is synced to the music
>action scenes are fantastically done, keeping you on the edge of your seat with muscular editing
>every main character is a fully realized characterization, from society-scapegoating ghetto fiend Bats to the charismatic deadly Buddy
>bad guys are bad guys, even if they're likable
>main character possesses human emotions, feeling horror, regret, panic alongside adolescent joy and innocence, his goal is to get out of this lifestyle
>never takes itself too seriously, satirizes and celebrates the genre equally
>violence varies from horrifying to over-the-top catharsis
>ending is a little too sweet, clearly begging for a bonnie and clyde-style tragedy
>Sup Forums pseud autists hate it

"The Driver"(78) = "Drive" (2011) > "Cannonball Run" > "Smoky & The Bandits" > "Baby Driver"

A Generation is 20 years long user, Drive (2011) is the Driver (1978) of our Generation.

>ludicrous shank-off
sounds like my kind of porno

"QUICK WE NEED A CAR"
>fast ass camero pulls out of nowhere

It's just a fun heist movie. Don't look too deep into it. It doesn't do anything revolutionary, but just strives to be an entertaining flick with characters that don't bore you on-screen and some nifty tunes. I'd rather have more of this than shitty remakes and cape crap.

just watched it today. this is by far the worst edgar wright movie. jesus what did people see in it? are his movies really so unaccessible that THIS piece of shit is considered good?
god kill me

This movie was too convenient at times. What were the odds of baby just running into buddy and darling like that when he was fleeing the cops?

Calm the fuck down jesus

If you unironically enjoyed this piece of shit then you're a major faggot

>doesn't bring up The Driver

hmmm....

first act:
>Baby works for me so he can pay up a debt i hold over his head his entire life
second act:
>Baby works for me under threat of me disfiguring his girlfriend and breaking his legs
third act:
> i'll literally die trying to protect Baby

He had a weird thing for baby. If you can't tell by watching the movie...Well I will understand since it isn't shown very well.

>Taxi Driver and Drive
>in the same league, let alone the same sport

uridon is the worst tripfag on Sup Forums. even worse than krager.

Worse than a nigger?!

like 60 seconds before he died, he told Baby to fuck off and stop calling.
this is just shitty writing man

it was a comfy nu-Western flick. bretty good.

>nu-Western
Shut the fuck up

Drive is the Drive of our generation.

Actually chuckled, good bait

the first 6 minutes of this movie is 10/10 amazing perfection, and then it's all downhill from there. lily james is a top tier waifu though.

I didn't get that either.
The dude threatened to kill everyone he loved and break his legs, but sacrificed himself for Baby.

it's not as good as Drive or taxi driver so idc about it. it's way better than baby driver tho

Who doesn't like hats?

I think it's just one of those implied feelings of respect that he tries to cover up with his hardassery in the second act. I think he was just bluffing when he said he would come for Baby and Lily James if Baby didn't do the final job.

In other words, being 'soft' would run contrary to his being able to assume control of the crew.

>ending is a little too sweet, clearly begging for a bonnie and clyde-style tragedy

Explain please.

That dance was cringey, and Lily James had literally zero character.

>all the characters involved in the criminality die
>bonnie and clyde references throughout the movie
>bonnie and clyde one of Edgar's favorite movies

Also it would've been objectively better than the "And they all lived happily ever after" ending we got

Is that from some Skyrim sex mod?

Refn > scorcesse > baby driver director

Why did John Hamm go mental at Baby when it was Jaimie Foxx who got his wife killed

Because it's Baby's fault too, and he's the only one alive to get revenge on

Legit loved it. When Mint Royal came up on the screen for a minute I was smiling like an idiot

Neveldine>Taylor>all those lame-asses you listed

was it autism?

I hate this meme.

I liked this movie.

Filled to the brim with fucking cliches and lame characterization. I hate it when people say a movie has "style and no substance", but it's a fucking perfect description of this movie.

The villains were my favorite part

They were by far the most interesting characters. Baby and what's her face were terribly underwritten.

Was he slow?
