> judging a show before even watching a single episode

>inb4 ESS JAY DOUBLE U FORCED DIVERSITY JOOZ!!
It won't be as good as TNG or TOS, but anything is better than DS9 and everything is better than the other 2 abortions.

Not even a (you) for this low-tier chum.
Hey reddit
>bothing to watch shows that can't even manage being on tv or american netflix.
ahahahah
I'll give it a chance because there's not enough sci-fi on tv, same reason I'll give the orville a few episodes even though I can't stand mcfarlane's smug cunt face.
don't have high hopes for either though.
What's "reddit"?
>, but anything is better than DS9
jesus christ gtfo
>we live in the timeline where we got JJTrek and STD
>instead of getting to watch Shran and Archer fuck shit up in the Romulan War
Will this show give me AIDS?
>still overrating that mediocre series
You take your own advice.
I mean, I'll try and give it a fair shake but honestly the signs are not good at all
>those horrendous looking Klingons
>the incident with Jason and how the show is militant atheist
>no previews or prescreenings
The fact that this show is radically redesigning and repurposing the Klingons instead of having the mild boldness to create a new alien race tells me all I need to know. It's stuffing words that normies know into the trailer ("ZOMG Klingons lmao!") in a desperate attempt to get the "hip" audience while totally shitting on existing fans.
This show can fuck off. So can CBS money grubbing.
>militant atheist
Yeah why can't they bring Christianity to Star Trek? That's what the series really needs.
YOU FUCKING MONGOLOID RETARDED ASS SPASTIC
I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE CONCEPT OF THEOLOGICAL MERITOCRACY BEING EXPLORED THROUGH PERSONAL NARRATIVE BUT NOOOOOOOO, YOU HAD IT SHIT IT UP WITH YOUR AGENDA SLINGING BULLSHIT
>hurr durr it's not my religion so it must be trash hurrrrrrr
IF I COULD REACH THROUGH YOUR MONITOR AND STRANGLE YOU FOR YOUR WRETCHED IGNORANCE I WOULD CUNT
When a show is selling itself on certain things, you can smell the desperation. Previous Treks had mostly non-religious/aesthetic crews, but they didn't shout it out in interviews as a selling point.
Same shit with the diversity. Other Trek shows had plenty of diversity. Long time Trek fans don't care about a diverse cast. The worry is that when a show is making that it's main selling point it tells us that there must not be any actual other selling points.
>instead of having the mild boldness to create a new alien race
ENT did this with the Xindi... I mean it was okay, but you can't just shoehorn in another alien race that got never mentioned before, but suddenly is a huge threat to the federation and shit
about the series now
STD (very unfortunate but fitting abbreviation) won't have any creative liberty in any direction really, there's no way this wont suck
they should have made a sequal like everyone demanded it anyway
haha look at this guy
god bless
Yeah no one really cares about any of that except the hyper-delicate kids who spend too much time on twitter. Long time Trek fans aren't upset at all. Just dweebs from Sup Forums who have the same complaint about thsi show that they have about everything else.
>anything is better than DS9
kill yourself my man
reddit pls
Ok, go flesh out a race that we've only seen a few times. The Klingons have been done to death. Like holy shit, it's insulting when STD cast in interviews act like their culture has never been explored before. Make the new villains the Sheliak or some other one-off race from a previous show.
>Sheliak
Oh my god kill yourself
>but anything is better than DS9
the main rival in the series should be the pakleds.
But the fact that this show is pushing its diversity is a mark it's shit. You've got cast members acting like they are breaking new ground. Putting identity politics upfront is actually super anti-Trek. Now you've got that one guy daring people not to watch the show.
This is going to be Ghostbusters Reboot Part 2. The show is going to suck, but critics will be afraid to be too harsh to it for social fears, and the show runners are going to use diversity as a shield against criticism. This has all happened before and it will all happen again.
Were they slow?
It was the first example that came to mind, but seriously if you don't want a new race just pick a one-off from the dozens we've seen and use them. Tell me how it's any worse than Klingons AGAIN.
I just can't imagine getting this twitterpaited about a show that hasn't come out yet, it seems like you're more obsessed with identity politics than they are.
I'm watching the interviews and keeping with the updates because I'm curious. It is hard not to see what is and isn't being put to the forefront by the show creators. They have actually said they are "throwing away the legacy of Shatner and Stewart". They are focused on expanding to the "new" audience at the expense of the old one, and part of their calculation is identity politics.
t. Not even a white guy
watch the show and form your opinion on merit, instead of deciding how bad it is in advance because you live on social media.
The ability to predict the outcome of something based on information is a useful one.
