Here you go Kenny

letterboxd.com/sgtpepperman/

The site isn't letting me add favourites, I'll do it later.

Just made this.

Yay, it's back.

I'm going to hit 2000 films soon, lads

I added you on Skype.

Sweet I'm at lunch right now, when I get back to work we can chat.

wahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Evil Dead Trilogy from AUS on Blu-ray I already decided on the companies. 1 - Sony Pictures (Whichever one keeps the most extras since I see two different covers for it.), 2: Dead by Dawn - Universal, Army of Darkness - Madman Entertainment which is a Necronomicon Edition.

Malick movies are beautiful, but why does he have to be so pretentious?

Hasn't Malick only directed 5-6 movies?

...

Seven I think. Working on three separate projects right now.

RIP IN PIECE

Such a great movie

Point?

...

I dunno. It's the same thing that James Cameron who has a lower amount of movies compared to Ridley Scott, Alfred Hitchcock, Akira Kurosawa and Steven Spielberg.

Kenny, I added one favourite!

who is faps

>The Thing
Going to need to see some, m8.

this is the worst thing ive ever seen

What's wrong with The Thing m8?

I'm busy cybering with Fremendar now anyway.

WHAT'S UP FAPS

I like The Thing.
Just tell me some of your favorite films here.

LOL

THE THING Blu-ray is good. Only for the extras. The HD DVD kept the film grain.
I've never seen the 2011 prequel.

I added the other three.

Be gentle

I've got The Thing UK steelbook, the commentary is amazing. It's also the only steelbook I own other than Nolan's Batman Trilogy.

>La Haine
Good enough for me. Followed.
captcha: thing Japicsi

Feels good man.

Anyone else strangely attracted to Vincent Cassel?

Not really. But I like him.
What are your favorite films of this year so far?

users?

>What are your favorite films of this year so far?

Evil Dead, Only God Forgives, The Place Beyond the Pines, Side Effects, Spring Breakers... Stoker was pretty good too.

I haven't seen any of the "blockbuster" movies yet this year (Iron Man 3, Star Trek, Man of Steel etc), I'll be seeing Pacific Rim tomorrow night though which I'm looking forward to a lot.

Fast & Furious 6 was also ridiculously amazing.

>friend asks for a recommendation
>tell him Persona
>tell him it inspire Mulholland Drive
>he says "That was not a good thing to tell me. It's schlock and you know it rehashed television garbage that literally means absolutely nothing."
>mfw

You haven't seen Before Midnight yet?

Only Steelbook I have is the USA RoboCop 20th Anniversary DVD.
I really want to buy the Criterion Blu-ray of La Haine.

...

>by implication he's saying that about Based Bergman

KILL HIM

It's a great film.

It only came out on the 18th here, haven't had a chance yet.

Beautiful release from criterion.

are you kenny

Was a damn good DVD from them. I even want to see more of the films he's directed. I've already seen many where he's an actor in them.

My favorite film of this year, easily. Have you watched the previous two films?
I don't know. Am I?

Your trip is not proof enough

>Love Exposure
muh nigga

1. Upstream Color
2. Fast & Furious 6
3. Spring Breakers
4. Pain & Gain
5. Wrong

I AM NOBODY'S NIGGA

I am independent, thank you very much

I am about to post my review of Post Tenebras Lux in a few minutes. There's your proof. I will post the link to it.

Your lb name isn't Kenny though

I've only rated a few dozen movies but then I gave up on that. So now I just use the Like feature.

Exactly

this is his top 84: letterboxd.com/aseda111/list/top-films-constantly-updated/

I know. But my name is Kenny. So...

Yea I've seen the other two, I really need to check it out. I'm going on a trip for about a week in a few days, might go see it when I get back.

NO PROOF

Review is coming...

Same for no reviews. Just random shit.

letterboxd.com/aseda111/film/mindless-2013/

I think Only God Forgives, Spring Breakers, This Is the End and Star Trek Into Darkness are the only 9/10 and up films I've seen thus far this year. I liked Side Effects, Pacific Rim, Evil Dead and Place Beyond the Pines a lot but I feel they'd be more 7-8/10 for me. Hated Upstream Color; I have never felt a film to be "pretentious" and thought that was a silly adjective to describe a film with until I saw this one. Dear lord.

>star trek into darkness
>9/10
u wot m8?

>star trek 9/10

Really?

What's your account?

>This Is the End
I like very much this one.

I thought it was a clever pseudo-remake of the best Star Trek film, and it even did some things better. The only thing I would count as a fault would be to change the abrupt ending. Everything else felt like the best modern Trek Abrams could possibly make, and I appreciated it for that.

I liked Upstream Color but I'm with you a bit there. I'm sorry but I found a lot of the dialogue, especially the way it was delivered, to be just bland and enigmatic just for the sake of being enigmatic. And using Walden! Come on! :p

it seemed like a rehash of the first film

letterboxd.com/esplover/

Back when I had time to do longer reviews I did one for Into Darkness if you want to partake in it. Thought about starting to do them again but I'm experimenting with seeing if I can write better in a shorter or longer format and still get sufficient information across.

Review is here.

I am Kenny

...

The thing about UC for me is that I love cinematography. I am no film school student but I'm an English major so I took a couple film electives, so I learned a small amount on this from one professor in particular. It's easy to see UC as a visual treat to be sure, but the /lit/fag in me just can't get over the abstract gelatinous narrative filled with ambiguity for the sake of presenting itself as profound or otherwise unique. It'd be different if I could gleam some kind of message from it, but nope. I got nothing. 3deep5me.

...Not really, at least not to me. I thought it was a logical continuation. You don't have to go through each character's origins or motivations, as they were previously established, and the film uses rules established in the first film such as Abrams' version of Spock's human "emotional" side and a good developmental arc for supporting characters such as Scotty and Sulu.

We all are.

...

...

Ha! Yea UC's a 101 on digital photography and the jump cuts really let Carruth make it pretty X999. And... yes as for the narrative the puzzle piece presentation frankly kind of bored me. Again I liked it but I will never embrace it.
