was this scene after he got his nose sliced up from that switchblade? I have a very similar one from around the same year, always thought that was cool.

...

never understood why that journalist decided to have sex with him. seemed like an unnecessary add on for his character that came out of left field

Probably just trying to put a solution to his journey for sex since the first girl friendzoned him and used him to buy her cigarettes.

...

>a western with sea

Marlon Brando is a genius.

>perfect
>they speak english

this is close

Grazi Signore

Inherent Vice
Fire Walk With Me
The Tree of Life
Citizen Kane
The Seventh Seal

Watch out There's at least 2 patricians in this thread

...

Shaun of The Dead is way better in every way. Did they ever make that Zombieland show or was it just forgotten about?

La La Land

THIS
that's the only thing that holds the movie from 9.5 to 10/10

I remember some females getting freaked out by this
typical man using his position to "rape" a vulnerable girl

the fact that they were puppets and the were fucking really activated their almonds

It's *good* but:
>Don't worry about it Jack, it's Chinatown
Come on. I shut it off like a minute later.

cause it was over?

The whole bit about the diner not serving mexicans then Rock Hudson fighting the owner really wasn't needed imo but otherwise 10/10. Thought it was ironic when Rock Hudson called his grandson a little wetback after getting home from the fight.

...

Same, what a piece of shit literally saying the title of the movie then cutting to credits. Wish I walked out earlier when they talked about the "Chinatown incident" earlier because how much I cringed.

...

...

>Don't worry about it Jack
lol

Humphrey Bogart has such a consistent career but this was mu favorite performance.

...

this movie was too real for me

one of the most realistic sex scenes in film and they pulled it off with puppets

>Don't worry about it Jack
How could you forget the line?

Movie?

Zombieland is fucking great...

Until they get to Bill Murray's house. Then it gets stupid.

this has the kookie music from futurama opening in it(or something very close)
really spooked me

Paths of Glory
WW1 Kino from Krubrick

paths of glory

war movie but it was shot weirdly and it feels like your in the war yourself

...

...

>shooting a deadmans eyes out to cuck him out of a spirital afterlife

I don't think I'll ever see such another film that can affect me as much as this.

This was pretty racy for the 50s.
>"what the hell do ya think happened to her? Ya want me to paint ya a picture!"

I hate Robert Deniro now but back then he was fucking great.

>Taxi Driver
>Deer Hunter
>Godfather 2
>Raging Bull

>fire walk with me
You mean twin peaks with all the good parts edited out?

Fuck Canada

...

...

It's like he stuck his head in a microwave for too long. Either that, or he just hates making movies

Nothing will ever match the atmosphere of when Bill first arrives at the manor

...

total recall is kino

a perfectly simple movie were every set up has a pay off

...

The cossacks did nothing wrong.

I mean the terrifying movie about one of the most tragic characters to be fleshed out on film, with an ending more emotional than any other part of twin peaks combined

...

Objectively his worst movie.
Was so heavily edited it shouldn't even have his name on it.
FMJ or get out kid.

fmj was like his second worst movie

as soon as fatty kills himself the movie drops

barry lyndon & sparticus are his consistent movies

what about dr strangelove tho? or the shining?

What about Clockwork Orange?

Not even close.
Dt. Strangelove and FMJ are national treasures.
FMJ never drops, if you felt nothing you obviously have never had a bond like they had in the movie.

Clockwork or Shining is babies first Kubrick,

strangelove is in a very weird place for me

it was original a comedy but it since practically came true (the white house didnt have a warroom but now it does)

also normies won't appreciate a near 1 hour and 20 min set up for the cripple stands up joke

clockwork orange is still too "out there" for normies only a smug IRL shit poster would get it

sparticus was long but it didn't really suffer from pacing

it is the most easist for normies to get

almost all of verhoven's movie's have that infinite rewatchability factor.

...

Agreed. Puts you in their shoes, makes you incredibly afraid of death

When I first saw this, I was blown away at the balls on van sant for making it without searching for motivations or explanations. It's really an incredible, if disturbing, film.

Hot Fuzz and The World's End were better than Shaun of the Dead. Watched Shaun of the Dead maybe twice. Zombieland closer to a dozen times.

...

No irony. Fucking genius movie.

The Road Warrior. Not a wasted moment.

>le ordinary day
>except not LOL
I can already tell it is pure kino

This movie was incredible. It was gritty, and it was fucking real. I agree that it was gutsy as shit to release it 3 or 4 years after Columbine.

The Apartment
The Third Man
Le Samourai

Not saying its my favorite, but I would consider it a "perfect" film from an objective standpoint. Whether you "like" it is a different matter.

Kaufman's weakest Imo

I would probably say the same about Michael Haneke's funny games (USA),
maybe even for triumph of the will too

we're agreed that this is the apotheosis of Hong Kong kung fu movies though, right?

I disagree, it gets major point for originality compared to adaption of a pre-existing work. The meta of an actor, playing a contemporary version of himself as a subject of the plot and namesake is how you do "meta" well.

Its the film Schenectady Memeyork wishes it could be.

Why do you think there's a bandage over his nose if it hasn't been sliced up?
To answer your question, yes.

meh tbqh

not even Kubrick's best.

I don't really see SNY as trying to do the same thing as Being John Malkovich. Though I agree its how to do meta well. Personally though I found Adaptation more compelling and another instance of well done meta

pleb

FMJ? really? Did you just watch it for the first time recently or something? It's nowhere near close to his other movies. It's normie tier, you're pleb as fuck, faggot.

Close to perfect, that's for damn sure

Anyways here's my pick

Fantastic movie

perfection

yeah fuck it I was right after all in watched this scene youtube.com/watch?v=AIyrd6G2790 and it is pure cringe. terrible acting, nothing good about it. what a shitty movie. if it wasnt about an edgy topic like school shooting nobody would give a shit

pumped up kicks remix videos are much better

Says the guy who doesn't think FWWM is good

...

How can such a small movie be so perfect?
I thought it was a meme when I saw the reviews for it but this film is the most perfect theater adaptation to film ever made.

horrible design though
just not asthetic pleasing

great story and plenty of feels but I think the characters could have been rendered better

not saying its his best
but it is executed perfectly

but then again it is stanley

I'm so happy this finally got a blu ray release, 10/10 film to watch on a cold winter's day.
Also the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

>The World's End
>better than Shaun of the Dead

It's alright but it's no where near perfect or even great. It's full of hammy acting that just detracts way too much from the movie. The direction of the movie itself is okay but borderline mediocre.

so you're saying you didn't watch the movie and instead chose to watch a clip of the last (not even) 15 min? Did you also do this with schindler's list and gafaw that "nobody would even care if this weren't a holocaust movie"
Did you do this before watching citizen kane and surmise that its also about "some fatass bitching that he didn't get to keep his sled"

Im genuinely curious if you enjoy ruining your filmic experiences like that.

> The direction of the movie itself is okay but borderline mediocre.

you really are a pleb

>films that are actually perfect
>posts a 90 minute Twinkies™ commercial with Zombies

>schindler's list
>citizen kane
shitty movies too

naah I dont watch trash. forgive me for hurting your feelings

the movies I personally like I saw just very short clips and immediately knew Id like them. judging a book by its cover actually works
