Villains For Hire Storytime

Welcome back, Anons! Yesterday we read various tie-ins to Spider-Island. Today, we're going to finish DnA's Heroes for Hire story, with Villains For Hire!

>Daimon Hellstrom
>Looks hot in leather pants

I guess we know what Misty's type is.

And continuing the trend of "opening each issue with Misty's lips"

There's probably a few who can manage that, mostly Spider-Man villains.

Doctor Octopus?

...

Nope, Stilt-Man!

So was that "Black Panther as Daredevil" stint any good?

...

And on this page, Sup Forums get triggered.

Uh, so Stilt-Man sometimes has normal-length legs that stretch to Stilt-Man length? That's actually pretty neat.

...

Are there Giraffe in Wakanda?

>underground in New York

So, odds of the Mole Man showing up?

Yep, Mole Man's involved.

This was before Bendis's last New Avengers arc, so before he was killed by Voodoo.

So when did Daimon get rid of the cape, and stick with just leather pants?

And a random Harry Potter reference too.

Why does this guy have a Crossbone's mask on his forehead?

>all the characters beforehand were listed as "assets"
>Misty is listed as "threat"

I feel like Bendis has done so much harm to the Marvel continuity. Why did they even do the "Dr. Strange looses the Sorcerer Supreme"? Voodoo held the title for like, what, three issues then died? And he Turned Hellstorm heel.

And suddenly, a scene switch...

And re-introducing Headhunter, an obscure waifu from Byrne's Namor run.

>And he Turned Hellstorm heel.
I hate Bendis but Ellis turned him edglord heel in the 90's.

Voodoo got a series as Sorcerer Supreme. Also, Hellstrom wasn't a "heel" so much as an edgy anti-hero.

This was before Shocker ended up joining the Thunderbolts, as you can tell from his belt.

Believe it or not, this mini and her bit in Namor are Headhunter's ONLY appearances in Marvel.

...

We really needed a whole page for this.

This character never appears outside of this series.

...

...

shame. I dig the design.

Before you ask, this character hasn't appeared since either.

>bullet through the head

No wonder we never find out who this character is.

>Headhunter is somehow able to resist Killgrave's powers

I guess we can blame it on her mutant powers being similiar, but in general, this shouldn't be a thing.

>Scourge working for villains

Before you ask, the fact that this doesn't make sense is a plot point.

She doesn't swear quite as much as her Ultimate counterpart.

Oh hey, it's been a while since we saw Nightshade.

Nope, looks like Death Stalker is still alive.

If you remember anything about Nightshade, this shouldn't be a surprise.

...

>"You're a Headhunter. Headhunt."

Remember, she doesn't JUST take off heads, she also was a big time Wall Street woman.

...

Now I'm sure you're wondering what any of this shit has to do with us, right? Well...

DUN DUN DUN!

...

That has got to be a weird fight to watch.

>"Stilt-Girl."
>"Stilt-MAN. Dammit!"
>"The female version? I thought she was a joke!"

Yes, we're getting the top two panels reprinted in the bottom two panels in the screens.

You'll remember this guy from a few days ago.

Given that we get a reunion with Cage and Shocker post-Cagebolts in Superior Foes, I may just take a few days after to post THAT series.

Killgrave, does that skintight costume LOOK like it has any pockets?

...

Shocker looks like he is in NO mood for anyone's shit.

>dontmocktheshocker.jpg

And somehow, Headhunter lasts longer in a fight than the long-time supervillain.

Hi user, how are you today?
JIBUN WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Dammit I'm still too hyped.

I guess after she got Imperius Rex'd, she's still got a lot of money to literally toss around.

I actually had to look that up. Man, I haven't thought about that series since it was first airing.

So basically this entire mini only works because he's telling the truth about not using his powers.

...

...

So we're basically halfway into this series, and Misty is barely involved.

>"We shut down Heroes for Hire. Called it a day."

To my knowledge, we never actually see that.

...

>"If you won't listen to me, maybe you'll listen to Danny and Luke."
>"Don't you DARE take this to them."

This is basically the only reference to the two of them.

Oh snap!

...

...

I feel like half of Bombshell's appearances in this series have at least one ass-shot on the page.

... So does anyone EVER get massive bags of hamburgers like that in real life?

...

...

Why would Monster show up against Misty, when he KNOWS he'd just turn into a baby again?

I was wrong, no butt-shot for Bombshell this time.

Deathstalker here is, like, really OP. She's got Kitty's phasing powers (and tech destroying), and in case she DOESN'T phase through an attack, she's basically immortal.

...

Man, she REALLY wants to be Stilt-Man. Not even Lady Stilt-Man, just the regular Stilt-Man.

...

...

>they all IMMEDIATELY change sides when they find out they're getting played
>except Crossfire, who gets shot

...

I feel like Misty gets at least one new trick every series.

>flash bangs on someone with nightvision

Would that even work? I know someone said that the "turn the light on someone with night vision" from Daredevil wouldn't work.

...

So what is the, fourth time her bionic arm's been ripped off?

Yup. Nice art too

That doesn't seem like something T'challa would even bring up

It feels wrong to see The Purple Man not wearing a purple suit.

I do enjoy how EVERY issue ends with a shock in the last page.

>"Proof that every character has the potential to be a great character."

You know, except Colleen Wing, right?

Yeah, but I imagine it seems like a breath of fresh air after years of Hudlin.

>"My mutant power blocks his control!"

And based on that line about how Puppet Master's powers trump Purple Man, I guess that explains how she's immune to his powers.

Where the hell was she hiding those knives?!

>Misty can reattach her own bionic arm

Huh, that's a neat trick.

...

>"Look at me. At my eyes!"

It's probably been a while, so you don't remember, but Headhunter can control people that look in their eyes (with a few odd exceptions like Namor's Hybrid Atlantean eyes), although her glasses can block it.
