You are now in charge to create a smash hit new HBO exclusive. The budget will not be an issue BUT it must be guaranteed great ratings and Emmy awards

Shoot.

A book-accurate Dark Tower show.

Actually make that Fincher version of Utopia they abandoned.

Blood Meridian mini series. That was easy

It's a show about how certain actors are primarily known for very particular roles that they used to play, like JLD as Elaine in Seinfeld, and how they struggle to find work or be recognized beyond that role.

FIGURE IT OUT URSELF SNEAKY HBO JEWS

Early Byzantine Empire drama set mostly in Constantinople focusing on the religious reformations in Christianity, but with plotlines about priests sneaking out to bang prostitutes and a gay one to make it palatable for HBO

...

I like this.

The Dark Tower series
DUNE series
The Foundation Series

Literally that's all you need.

>HBO = corrupt
>Ratings = fake
>Emmys = fake & corrupt

Fuck off

>arguing about the gender of angels while getting raped by Muslims

>based in world war two
>world where the confederates won
>about the north and the south burying the hatchet to go kick some nazis around
>main characters are FDR(president of the united states), huey long(president of the confederate states),random british journalist, random german diplomat

Industrial era England period piece about a variety of people representing all different walks, who's lives are intertwined.

At the end of each episode the TV audience votes on a pivotal outcome for the next episode.

>it must be guaranteed great ratings and Emmy awards
It's about an edgy antihero with dodgy morals and each episode has an orgy scene

Should fit right in with the rest of HBO's programming

miniseries about HBO executive who uses online cambodian agricultural forum to seek out new ideas. series is an anthology, with each episode focusing on a new idea. first few episodes trick viewer into thinking it's a generic procedural drama, but over the course of these "unique" episodes, some threads of similarities between these seemingly unrelated plots start to become more and more apparent.

I'll give you two...

1. A three-part mini-series on "Operation Mincemeat"

Background:

(True story). Prior to the invasion of Sicily, the allies wanted to fool the germans into thinking the attack was going to be somewhere else.

So they created an elaborate hoax involving a dead body, forged documents, and dumping the body into the sea where they knew it would drift into german control.

2. A 12-episode mini-series on the murder of William Desmond Taylor

Background:

(True story). It's the morning of February 2nd 1922. Police are called and told that William Desmond Taylor, famous hollywood director is dead.

When they arrive, they find an employee of the studio burning documents in the fireplace, a famous actress going through the drawers, and people walking out carrying boxes.

The body is laid out on the floor. A man identifying himself as a doctor says that taylor died of a stomach ulcer. The doctor leaves, and everyone else now walking out the door agree that he had been complaining about pain, had taken time off, was taking medicine.

Everyone now gone, the coroners office lift the body. That's when they discover the bullet hole in his back.

several more seasons of deadwood

"Y The Last Man" spread out over three (maybe four? I don't know) seasons.

Something with hookers, a character whose dialogue mostly consists of the word "cocks", tangled family drama, organized crime, Aidan Gillen, with some occasional ultraviolence to keep younger audiences hooked.

Neo-nazi anti-environmentalist warmonger US President has been elected. Earth's natural resources have been depleted due to the resurgence of fossil fuels consumption. White nationalist militias have overtaken the US, enslaving minorities. Climate change ravages the world. Nuclear war breaks out between US/North Korea+China.

A new Space Race emerges. A (((diverse))) small team of scientists and engineers from US, China, and Russia commit treason behind their governments' backs and collaborate to evacuate to Mars to create a new Earth.

A series or miniseries of Teddy Roosvelts life up unitl he becomes vice president

Kek yeah, I honestly don't know much about the history but it seems like an interesting setting. I just have a few characters I think would be interesting, like a patrician family that had to flee Rome and is settling into a mansion in Constantinople, a thief who followed them there because he has a vendetta and wants to kill one of them, and some priests in a monastery who struggle with religious doubt, etc. Basically Rome meets The Young Pope since it's HBO. Plus, if I didn't have to worry about budget, I'd include savage Muslim invaders if that's true to the time period.

>Confederacy

Sorry, you committed a hate crime upon the entertainment community, and you are now blacklisted from anything but a Kevin Sorbo film.

Thats why a major storyline for the confederacy should be crazy racist vs everyone else
I would imagine the KKK would be gigantic especially with hitler around
And huey long wasn't really that racist

Wait a sec-it sounds like you work at HBO...

Mass Effect series

The Witcher ser-

Oh wait nevermind, Netflix took it

Maybe a way ti trigger this conflict would be huey beinging a black man into his cabnit?
His cabnit is half rascist(with 2/3s being KKK memebers) and the other half is either lightly rascist or doesn't care
This leads to political unrest in the CSA and gives them something to do for a bit
Should end with the KKK getting gimped but still being arourounde CSA political storyline should be more getting over the mistakes of the past even if its just a little bit
Also im thinking about whether i want the military campaigns to be a thing
If i have multiple seasons, i start a mini storyline of patton and macarthur dickwaving and one uping each other in their individual campaigns

Adult Live Action Sci-Fi in the spirit of Rick and Morty
Way too slow to get great ratings

what is birdman?

Rome season 3. Set in the 5th century.

A r12 part American civil war drama
focusing on a gay slave(female) and a rich northern socialite who uses her connections to bring slaves through the underground railway to New York

the twist is she brings the slaves into a life of lesbian prostitution

it will be called 20 years a (sex) slave

as they guy you are pitching to you might say

you mean we have to film a myriad of different outcomes for every ep????

get fooking out

This was an idea in curb your enthusiasm

A NEW GENERATION KILL

mafia show will old paulie as the boss and zombie chrissy

assassin's creed anthology show with three seasons, one set in the early days of the order, one set in the not too distant past, and the final season set in the present that brings the story to a close.

Something with a fuckload of Jewish people passing off as regular old whites, softcore taboo themes porn, gore, and subtle intertwining of left leaning political narratives. There. That's essentially the formula for all HBO shows

10 part Viking Berserker epic directed by Mel Gibson

no sequels, just a 10 hour masterpiece

language is Old Norse not English

Good. Pretty good. PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY GOOD

Lord of the Rings but with RAPE

WH40K film featuring Mel Gibson and Clint Eastwood. It takes 5 days to air it all, one massive fight sequence.

subtitles will be in rune form

so only true patricians will enjoy it

vietnam war mini series directed by werner herzog based on firsthand accounts of different individuals on both sides

A 'Liveship Traders' trilogy adaption. Guaranteed to make bank.

>subplot about gay side-character

It tells a story about a black strong independent woman who decides to become a guy so she goes ftm and then back to mtf.

Insert family drama and relationship drama with julie, the hot latino chick and mr.chocolate, the hot black guy who's the father of her child.

Add an evil white banker guy called John who's is trying to ruin the protagonist's life just because he can. And because he's white. John also clubs whales to death, shoots defenseless puppies and eat kittens.

this might possibly be the dullest idea i ever seen

take it to PBS

Whores! would legitimately be a success.

Live action serial experiment lain.

Donald and the Mafia
An account of Trumps early dealings with the mafia
many liberal housing co-op types and Union guys are "disappeared" by Donald and his pals as they carve up the prime real estate

it will be 99% false, just week after week of the most libelous fiction imaginable.

A television series based on the first law trilogy.

Columbo with Mark Ruffalo.

Set in the 70's, don't waste any real time continuity, treat it as canon and happening alongside the original run. Maybe some continuity nods here and there to keep the fans happy.
10 episodes a season, 70 minutes each, 90+ has always been too much for Columbo.
The rest is the same old stuff, big tv/movie actors play the killers, etc.. etc..

I guarantee that this shit gets all the Emmys on the first season.

would some eps be directed by david fincher? if so, would instawatch.

The age of exploration as seen through the eyes of a Portuguese chaplain. His countrymen bring fire and sword upon the indies in their pursuit of gold and spices, but our perspective character finds moral quandaries and challenges to his faith in God and country.

Guaranteed creative arts emmys for production design and costumes with their budget. Tons of torture and multiracial orgies.

Yes, I guess a guest director spot along the usual guest actor for the killer would be a nice addition.
Spielberg would have to direct the first episode of the series tho, for poetry

These both sound like shit ideas.

adult americanized battle royale

first few seasons is the main characters trying to survive
later seaons are them rebelling againt the government that sent them there

slamball movie with lots of thicc lesbians

a war series where we replace all of the soldiers with little girls

There was a historical fiction author, Gary Jennings, who wrote several books that could be fantastic one-season shows. Atzec is one, or the one I really think could be done right, Spangle. It was originally in 3 books, and covers a circus going from almost broke in the South US after the civil war, traveling overseas, and performing all over europe. It's got all the elements - sex, death, crime, historical people and settings, and it would be fantastic with the right cast/director.

The other would be Umberto Ecco's "Foucault's Pendulum" - a conspiracy novel that's set in Europe. The story is fantastic. Would be a great mini-series.

GREECE, from Persian war to Peloponnesian war, made by the ROME folk

>covers a circus going from almost broke in the South

you mean like the HBO series carnivale

No, the book Spangle doesn't suck. Also, that show is 100 years later, and isn't half in Europe.

Rome reboot, with each season covering a later period, stretching from the birth of Romulus and Remus to the dethronement of the last emperor.

Poorly Recorded Adventures of Lord Belvis and Madame Stone.
-story is from the perspective of the two title characters and was their direct influence on historical events (they always being key in what ends up happening)
-Lord Belvis kills Hitler, climbs out bunker window and it was said to be a suicide.
-Madame Stone screws Lee Harvey Oswald who's conflicted about something he thinks he should do and she, not paying attention, mutters "You should totally do it" before falling asleep.
-Met Elvis, sees him fall off a set of stairs out back of a concert, Belvis convinces him to take a painpill.

so......Forresst Gump with posh people?

I always had this idea that i always wanted to see done by hbo. I thought of it before the show came out, but its supposed to be like vinyl, but instead focusing on a made up rock group that starts in the mid late 60s and then we see their career go into the 70s 80s and maybe 90s if the title character doesnt die by then.

It would have them see famous known rock stars and wed get to see the band be a part of rock historic events such as something like woodstock, or that concert the rolling stones had where hells angels beat everyone up.

so itd basically be like boardwalk empire and vinyl where it mixes made up characters with real famous people.

A political thriller about the collapse of the BCCI Bank, the worlds seventh largest bank at the time.

Goes into the money laundering in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas; BCCI's bribery of officials in most of those locations; support of terrorism, arms trafficking, and the sale of nuclear technologies; management of prostitution; the commission and facilitation of income tax evasion, smuggling, and illegal immigration; illicit purchases of banks and real estate; and a panoply of financial crimes limited only by the imagination of its officers and customers.

Thematically I would like it played out like Mann's The Insider. Protaganist is the US Customs agent who went undercover and discovered the active role the bankers played in the aforementioned crimes.

mini-series, post-apocalyptic fable about the interactions of a band of scavenger-soldiers taking refuge with a women and her young son while hiding out from the local warlord. mel gibson heads up a cast of young male actors that play the scavenger band that cover a range of character archetypes.

woman is played by patricia arquette. young boy is played by finn wolfhard.

series finale is the scavenger band defending the homestead against the warlord and his army of ravagers, all of them dying in the act one by one.

when i say heads up i mean he is the leader/father figure of the band.

HBO series based on the graphic novel 100 Bullets. It could both have mythology/conspiracy episodes, and one off "villain of the week" side stories, much like The X Files. Directed by Vince Gilligan.

Just do old mans war by John scalzi

The first season could be the boot camp training arc similar to full metal jacket and starship troopers but more over the top

yeah this

>A miniseries following Cortez in the new world. Give him a male love interest who he meets and confides with in secret, this same love interest can be the one who saves him during his siege of Tenochtitlan instead of rando natives at the orders of one of his men. If you wanted to go full tilt you could make it a historical 'alternative' series where Aztec gods are actually real and shit starts to get gradually more mystical and armageddony before the end where their own gods strike them down in a moment of pure Aztec God corrupt bloodlust and Cortez and his few men escape with the history books going on to blame disease and rape for how Spaniards could have even come close to overpowering such an extravagant and fantastical empire.

>Fall of Constantinople

>Life and Times of Olga of Kiev
A over the top retelling of the bloodthirsty yassss queen slay as she takes over for her dead husband(Igor the King) and goes on to genocide the white male tribe who did it. Get fast and loose with the historical details as you see fit for viewership. Maybe she could have secretly been a lesbian and even plotted her husbands death because he incompetent and cruel which gives cause to her adoption of christianity.

>An off the wall dark and surreal drama based on Tarrare

>A proper adaptation of Neil Gaiman's Sandman
except the fandom would fuck you over because you would hire incompetent fucks like D&D and destroy it

>Throw money at mel gibson to make his Viking movie that got blackballed cuz "pack of feral niggers"

>near direct copy of the 1997 final fantasy tactics

>Japanese internment camps
Take advantage of the political hot issue of immigration/fences/racism etc and follows the lives of several japanese families in the US as they are turned on by locals, lose everything, etc etc maybe juxtapose it with some other ethnic families or white families at the time. Make it super biased and more brutal than reality to really hammer home the point that people are watching HBO

Neil Gaiman's The Sandman

Already adapted a feature version myself, tv show would be ideal. Budget constraints are a bit of a concern but I think it could be worked around in clever ways.

Continuing on this note;

Ideally a set series, 4 or 5 seasons tops will cover basically all 75 issues and any one off's.

Have different art styles like they had different artists in some episodes, guest directors.

Sold on the experience and not MUH COMIC BOOK SHOW. Get Neil Gaiman heavily involved.

zombie apocalypse 50 years in, the world is gone, new city states rise, trains are used as transportation between cities. only direct contact infections

So you want a dumb knockoff of Fargo?

I brainstormed something similar 4 or 5 years ago, except instead of trains they'd do mass Fury Road style drives across to the next town. Lots of game of thrones esque politics between the different factions.

Might wanna wait 50 years before making it since Zombie stuff is SOOO played out sadly.

surreal anthology show like twilight zone set in one continuity universe that you world build with deep lore.

An Orwellian hellscape, different stories each episode.

It can go anywhere on its timeline too in the world.

fpbp

people seem to eat up politics shit with a bunch of characters

so i think VtMB would be the perfect setting; fantasy, bunch of clans, endless drama possibilites, an overarching main story (antediluvians waking and shit)

A tv show about shitposting on Sup Forums and Reddit.

so much this
