I don't care that Marvel's films are too quippy sometimes. The movies always entertain me overall. I don't hate DC's output but the Marvel films are easier to share with my nephews.
I used to be a rabid continuity and characterfag. Now I realize it's pointless and most cape characters ran their course before I was born in stories that I've hardly touched. Now I prefer to simply delineate between writers and enjoy the stories for what they are instead of obsessing over how they fit together.

Star Vs does what Steven Universe wants to do better in almost every way. Yet SU is more popular because of lesbians and non-step anime/Nintendo references. It caters to such an easy-to-grab crowd and has such inadequate writing and direction it's infuriating people consider it one of the best cartoons airing.
That's the thing, he should stick to Crime Noir books like Daredevil, Alias, Moon Knight. Anything else and he shits the bed hard.
What gets me is that SU started off well enough (Coming of age story, young boy learning about his powers, etc) But then they tried to add some LGBT/SJW garbage into the show and it's characters.
And I would've been cool with the LGBT stuff if it weren't so shoehorned.

Both Marvel Studios and the DCEU have entertaining films that I enjoy watching despite one or two major flaws that irritate me slightly when re-watching.
I always feel like I'm wasting money on single issues - like an intense worry to quite the hobby, but then I remember any issues I find lackluster I can give away to friends, coworkers, and relatives who enjoy them and discuss comics with me as a result.
I shit on Marvel a lot nowadays. I don't even want to, but I hate what they're putting out and I want their writers and editors to get cleaned out a fair amount before I get back into it.
I loved Mark Waid's Daredevil but it might be the last thing I'll ever buy from him.

The Star Wars prequels and TFA were both highly enjoyable. Kyle Katarn is still the second best Jedi after Luke. Always though Han Solo was overrated. Rey being hyper competent was great, because I'm tired of whiny protagonists who fuck everything up for the sake of being "relatable" or "realistic".

my country is dying. It all begins with the prices of air time in this country. Did you know that dancing baby Pepsi commercial during the Superbowl years and years ago cost nearly 2 million dollars to air? Air time isn't cheap, not even on the radio does it come cheap. Because of this, politicians need LOTS of money to afford to get their name out to the public.
Why? because nobody will vote for anyone who they first meet by reading their name on the ballot. "Who is that?" is the worst possible reaction a politician can face from a voter.
So the politicians turned to the corporations, deals were made and money exchanged hands. Politicians got elected using that same corporate money to do it. Laws were written favoring corporations. Now its gotten to the point where you could drive an army through the loopholes in the tax code. In fact it's rather common for the CEO of a corporation to pay less in taxes than his own secretary.
I'm not trying to condemn them, I'm just explaining how it came to happen.
The real danger comes from how deeply we seem to believe in capitalism and how infallible we seem to think it is. Is it the greatest form of economic management? Yes, but it is not perfect. By letting corporations gain control of this country we have set up a horrifying situation. Sooner or later if we don't reform this country, another World War will start.
And the US, with its arsenal of nuclear missiles, will turn its sight on any and all countries that did not embrace capitalism as we did.
Why?
Because their longer lives, happier citizenry, better health, lower individual debt and lower national debt prove the lie in our form of unrestrained capitalism.
And if there's one thing those that corporations cannot stand, its someone who one ups them without using the same tactics they did.
I don't believe it will happen in our lifetimes, but our grandchildren and great grandchildren will likely hate us for our inaction today.
