It's pretty good, but I felt like some of the character development for Dolarhyde was rushed.
That scene was fucking awesome, I've gotta admit.
More like CSI: The prequel
Brian Cox is an infinitely better Hannibal Lector than Anthony Hopkins, there I said it.
I think this movie really shines in the use of music. The "Strong as I Am" song that plays when Dollarhyde takes the chick to pet the tiger was excellent, then the night take down scene with the jogger.
more like michael mannhunter lmao
love ed norton but, honestly? this movie is superior even without Hopkins.
the atmosphere was as OP said, perfect
This scene gives me chills every time, one of the greatest scenes in any film in my book
music is pretty amazing
Agree. Although I also think that Mikkelsen did an amazing job portraying a different iteration of the character.
Graham's Theme is so fucking underrated.
Ummm sorry sweetie but Red Dragon is better
Yeah I would say Mads was honestly the best of the 3.
However, he had 3 seasons to flesh out a character with the excellent support of Hugh Darcy.
Cox only had fucking William Peterson, who, I think you'll admit is far from compelling.
Only plebs disagree.
They ruined Dolarhyde in Manhunter. Subsitute Ralph Fiennes and Emily Watson with more time for their character development and it would be a true 10/10.
The way the music builds up is just incredible.
In some shots it almost seems like Jack is in fear of Will as the latter channels the mind of the killer.
I've always liked how he tells Jack to call the guard in the store room before he has even fully formulated his hypothesis.
Bullshit. Noonan played and infinitely better character with actual nuance and character.
Feinnes is just hamming it up in a shitty bret ratner movie.
What song plays when the killer sees his blind GF talking to another man and he's in his van?
The editing at the shootout in the end is weird as hell. It's like these weird double smash cuts. It's really distracting.
Strong as I am
Manhunter rushes the everliving fuck out of every scene with Dolarhyde and Reba. Manhunter is for Will Graham, Red Dragon is for Dolarhyde.
Mann kinda went over the top in that sequence .
Reminds of the film Point Blank where producers had to send a shrink down to talk to the director (boorman) because the shit he was filming was nuts...then the film becomes pretty normal in the second half
It's like Mann just went fucking nuts right at the end
Great movie. One of the best thrillers out there. Hope Fincher's Mindhunter will be similar
It looks more like Zodiac, which was also great.
god the autism and I know people who still watch it
are we talking pic related or Red Dragon?
...
>Hipster: The Opinion
The scene where he walks through the murder scene at night and flips the lights on in the bedroom scared the shit out of me.
red dragons dolarhyde was alot better but i didnt like old hannibal and will. tv show was ok
No one disagrees.
>tfw this song came on the radio while driving
dope song desu
Did Mann invent kino?

This is one of my favorite themes from a movie.
>hear in a gadda da vida
>get the sudden urge to murder blind people with a shotgun
Boorman needed that guy on Zardoz.
hear in a gadda da vida
shoot up the contents of your fridge till its a jackson pollack painting
>Jack looking at him open mouthed with that "what the fuck" expression

>They ruined Dolarhyde
Nope.
Tom Noonan was the best.
this
>hear in a gadda da vida
>get high with Freddy Krueger and play vidya
>hear in a gadda da Vida
>play epic church organ solo til I pass out
>STRONG AS I AM
>YAYAYAYA
>But first, a kiss.
Is there anything more kino?
Arnie's monologue to Krom before the big standoff.
>But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
>Matthew 3:11
>Strong As I Am
Damn, you truly are my nigger!
Wish Boorman got to make his Lord of the Rings film
Pure Drugged out Nonsense
anyone notice film soundtracks aren't as memorable as they used to be? Not to say that they are bad but they seem created to be alot less "distracting" in a scene. I guess they are meant to compliment a scene and not over take it...but that means they aren't as interesting.
