Nihilist western

Watched this and sicario. Both were good, sicario a bit more complex, hohw more about being fucked in life and only having family, but both have a similar mood. Bleak, lost, driven by one thing, no happy ending type shit. Lost of shots of the desert. I love it. No country for old men of course qualifies. Got any recs?

The Shooting (1966) is exactly what you need to watch. Early Jack Nicholson kino, it's great.

Unforgiven I'd say.
>it's got nothing to do with deserve

That is a straight up flick tho.

>we all have it coming, kid

Fun fact: both were written by the same guy.
Check out his latest movie Wind River. Takes place in the snow on an Indian reservation

This. Also this:

The Proposition. One of my favorite movies of the 00's.

man this movie gave me some good feels

>"Innocent? Innocent of what?"

no just a good screen writer and hopefully a director

I never made it through HoHW (bored me), but Sicario was quite good. If you want a real classic western, "Hombre" is hard to beat.

AI, the wrestler, burn after reading ,maybe

boy, you'd think there were ten of me

I don't feel at home in this world anymore

Is Jeff Bridges typecasted as the texan sheriff guy now?.
He has done the same thing for like 3 movies.

Also am sorry OP but besides True Grit i can't find more movies like those.
You best hope is old westerns.

Third for The Shooting. It's exactly what you want.
