Which movies do you consider "masterpieces"?

Which movies do you consider "masterpieces"?

Batsman vs superman

gattaca

None because I'm not a mouthbreathing fucktard.

Good joke

You seem insecure.

And you seem stupid.

The first Matrix movie is just about as perfectly paced and written as any action movie can get.

this

Nice projection.

Probably the best movie of all time

>No you!

Stupid and lazy.

honestly No Country for Old Men was better.

lotr, theatricals

Now, listen. I'm cooperating here.

Oh shit, youre all wrong.

I enjoyed Steve Jobs and Fincher's TGWTDT

Damn good movie. But not even in the Coens' top 3.

off the top of my head
Pan's Labyrinth
Wizard of Oz
obligatory Godfather pt 2
Silence of the Lambs
The Exterminating Angel

Nah.

Okay, what film I've never fucking heard of do you consider a masterpiece?

Literally a perfect movie

I'm not the guy you replied to, but Patton was a masterpiece. One of my favorite movies.

all three movies in the cornello trilogy and high-tier coen films like no country for old men and fargo

I'm a pleb and I know it

...

I agree. Perfect sci-fi/action movie.

OP, got five masterpiece's right here!!!FACT!!!

>Apocalypse Now
>Blade Runner
Should movies that were essentially made in the editing room count?

Don't know if it already exists, but a masterpiece film would be about pedokike getting gassed.

Yeah I'm waiting for him to tell me about a film that's actually better than Fargo or Patton. Those 2 compare favorably to any movie ever made. Now if he wants to tell me pic related is better I'm willing to listen.

All movies are made in the editing room. What's your point?

...

But it's theoretically impossible to name a masterpiece you've never heard of because you will have by the time you read the post.

Mulholland Drive
Eyes Wide Shut
Breaking the Waves
Under the Skin
Boogie Nights / Magnolia

There is an exception to every rule, of course.

lolwut?
Every shot had to be very carefully planned based on edit points.
The entire film was essentially a slave to how much the reels would run and timing that with a hidden edit point. Example: when one of the characters walks "into" the camera, hiding the transition.

Rope still has cuts about every 10 minutes or so that are edited in a way that disguises them (i.e. it will zoom in on someone's coat during a cut). But yes Rope was shot more like a stage play than a movie, since it was based on a play of the same name I believe.

Negative. Give me an image and I'll reverse search it. There are plenty of movies that hold their own against those two mentioned, but none that are objectively better.

plebby list but exquisite dubs

Not so bad yourself, but you better put up a movie you like if you're gonna criticize someone else's choices.

Just love it

What are some films you suggest?

...

chungking express

its the comfiest lightning in a bottle kino ever
