How come y'all never talk about Transparent on this board? Too triggering for /ppl/ users? Probably one my favorite shows in the last couple of years.

most people dont know amazon video exists and those who do probably wouldn't jump on half their originals cause they look like shit.

i don't like how liberal they are with sex cause i get none!

t. Trump supporter

No one will ever know if it's good since amazon doesn't know how to market their shows.

Is it good? It doesn't look good

Just doesn't seem like something I could get into. Also it makes me sad to see what Gabby Hoffman morphed into.

I love Transparent!

This desu.

post them saggy Alia Webms

I think it will be literally impossible to discuss here without spergging tards going on about cultural marxism and or jews and or trump and or gay bathrooms. But let's see.
It looks funny but it's not a subject I have a lot of interest in.

Notice the only people being derogatory here are the people who like the show....

First season was good. Didn't watch anything after that though.

Everything about it is amazing, if you don't mind the story revolving around a bunch of bourgeois, liberal cunts.

What's amazing about it?

Saw the 1st season , was ok i guess but i didn't care what would happen to any of the characters. Good performances though. Featuring : gay, lesbian, trans,by ,asexual, straight ?,lizard people and all 65890 other clasic "genders" .

Is it a reality show about the Masons?

Everyone's just tired of not being able to discuss certain topics here without the wall of predictable crap, but maybe I'm wrong. Will check back in a while and find out.

Sounds like you're one of the few people here interested in discussing it so don't be surprised if the thread dies between now and then

It made me feel legit sad for trans people because Tambor is quite based and made the character relatable to me. Not much happens, but it's well acted and pretty funny sometimes.

My question is basically at what point is something no longer considered a mental illness, is it just when enough people feel that way? I've been thinking about that specifically because I genuinely hate being alive and I'm still considered depressed because society doesn't allow people to feel that way without classifying them as sick.

The performances are all really good and the production too. Some of the storylines are tiresome but the ones that aren't, like Josh and Colton, Ali gets a FtM boyfriend, Maura at the TERF festival, the flashbacks, etc. make up for it mostly. And stuff like Shelly singing Alanis Morissette, it sounds like a turd but it was great.

literally every character is a kike: the series

Sooooo.. is it funny and that's what excuses the more insufferable parts? You make it sound like it has to apologise for itself a lot to make itself worth it.

Op here.

Love the show, and it's even better because I feel like Sup Forumstard special snowflakes would sperg out over it.

It was da jewsssssssss!!!!

Thanks OP, definitely was looking for something productive to do this weekend. I'll start by watching a show about mentally ill homosexuals. I'm sure the characters are both interesting and relatable.

Tbh it is more of a drama with funny moments than a comedy show. If you can at least find the relationship drama bullshit watchable, which I do, then you will like it, otherwise...

>The series depicts several Jewish characters and deals with spiritually and culturally Jewish themes. Jill Soloway, the series' primary creator, is Jewish and uses Rabbi Susan Goldberg of Wilshire Boulevard Temple as a consultant for the show. They also seek advice from Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie of New York, describing him as "a God-optional patriarchy-toppling Jewish modern mind. There’s a mandate among religious and spiritual thinkers to be thinking about the binary, the gendered, the feminist, the goddess, and Amichai reminds me of that every day."

that sounds 100% awful, what makes it interesting and not just yet another amazon soap opera?

Alright so less Arrested Development and more Parenthood but with an exceptionally high LGBT ratio that borders on breaking reality?

God fucking dammit

4 women in the lineup of main characters? Don't even have to watch it to know its shit.

I watched the first two episodes and found all the characters except Tambor to be off-putting. I especially disliked the dirty looking sexually liberated character. Very annoying.
It seems to me it's one of those shows where every character is a bad person because "hey people are all shit don't forget it", which I don't have a problem with if the characters have depth.

The brother is too autistic. The cast is to ugly to be endearing. I had to give up on it.

...

What is this "I can't watch things without people I want to fuck in it" shit about? It seems way more common nowadays. Are you all models or massively insecure?

3 > 1 > 2

Haven't watched S4, but I'm hyped. I think it's one of the best shows on TV. Tambor is fantastic and while the kids aren't the most likeable bunch, they're very watchable.

post webm of alia shawkat's tits please

That exists?

they're out this season, only seen pics and yet to watch the episodes though.

I'm kind of like that these days. I don't really enjoy any of the tv or movies that are being made. Having fuckable characters is one of the main reasons I keep watching something. My brain is just ruined I guess

No. You're just stuck in adolescence.

what can be done about that?

Normalizing mental illnesses is dangerous.

>at what point does a flu stop being an illness? Is it when enough people feel (sic) that way?

what im trying to say here is that your post is fucking stupid even by tv standards

It's another shit degenerate show.

I thought the first season was a beautiful story about exercising and growing empathy, bearing witness to quiet suffering, and about extending love to people who need it. But the subsequent seasons are a creepy mess of SJW and Jew politics. Really hated the turn it took.

Shows like this should trigger all normal people.

>spergging tards going on about cultural marxism and or jews and or trump and or gay bathrooms
literally what you just did you spergging tard

>The series depicts several Jewish characters
what a shock.

You can have the liberal media, we'll take a majority of State houses, Governorships and all parts of the federal government.

I was try to ask why transgendered people are no longer considered mentally ill by many doctors when it used to be considered an illness by all of them. What changed?

cause surgeries make money, post surgery chemical therapy makes money, post surgery depression therapy makes money, suicide counselling makes money and so on i mean this stuff is pretty self explanatory

the classification, the fucking word, gender-dysphora is still considered an awful source of mental anxiety and a mental illness. Becoming trans-gendered is not an a mental illness itself because the illness is dysphora.

i can watch insecure and appreciate it for the kino that it is but a show about trannies is where I draw the line desu

Being Trans is a mental disorder. If you think you're a women when you have a penis you're mentally ill. If you think cutting off your dick makes you a woman then you're even more sick in the head.

Its one of the reasons why trannies shouldn't be allowed in safety sensitive jobs.

Way to not understand shit brainlet.

>What changed?
(((They))) Decided.
After trannyism it will be pedo.

All of the stuff you listed are treatments for gender dysphoria. Making it a lifestyle choice instead of a medical issue would actually take money away from those things because insurance companies and public healthcare plans wouldn't cover them and patients would have to pay out of pocket. From a money-making perspective, it would make more sense to keep it listed as a mental illness because you'd get more funding for treatments.

They still don't cover treatments for it in a lot of places in the U.S.. Trans people are considered sick and mentally ill by most people but clearly not enough for their treatments to be covered. If their condition isn't serious enough to be covered, then I guess they aren't really mentally ill.

>What changed?
Diagnosing and classifying mental illnesses is tricky and imprecise. There's a reason the DSM keeps getting revised; like all things that try to follow the scientific method, there's a process of testing and revision. Homosexuality used to be considered a mental illness. Depression used to be classified as the same thing as schizophrenia. Psychiatrists used to think having a uterus made you insane and invented orgasms to tame this impulse. For non-mental healthcare, people used to think smoking was good for the lungs and radium wasn't harmful.

If you think refinement to symptoms and diagnosis of an illness means that it's not valid, you don't know how the scientific method works.

I understand plenty it's enablers who choose to ignore the basic definition of what mental illness is.

I don't think you understand as much as you think you do. But that's just my opinion :o

>ey still don't cover treatments for it in a lot of places in the U.S.. Trans people are considered sick and mentally ill by most people but clearly not enough for their treatments to be covered. If their condition isn't serious enough to be covered, then I guess they aren't really mentally ill.
Maybe since mutilating the body is considered a "Treatment". There is not real treatment to cure someone of this mental illness. Enabling it with body mutilation is not "treatment" and it shouldn't be covered.

Gender dysphoria is still considered a mental illness, what are you talking about?

it literally is a treatment, your emotions and opinions have no place here!!

>but what about my subjective opinion on surgery
>something gets cut off omg literally brutal mutilation
Sweetie all things surgery are icky icky

This is another one of those shows that always wins awards, but I've never heard anyone talk about in public

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has them and they all stink

>After trannyism it will be pedo.
Considering the amount of Bev threads I've seen on here this will make Sup Forums very happy.

wow this low-brow shit

Science doesn't agree that body mutilation or enabling someone mental illness as being treatment.

>science
lmao okaaaay

No this is actually science and biology not tranny "Feels" nonsense. You can't change your gender it's not possible. Letting someone mutlate their bodies because they "think" they are the opposite sex should be banned.

You seem knowledgeable.

Yes it does lmao

Gender reassignment surgery plus therapy is recommended treatment

You're talking out of your ass aren't you user

Patriot is a 10/10 and absolutely the most underrated show of the decade.

Ali is definitely Sup Forums's girl, she even got BLACKED and does women's studies at university.

None of that is required to identify yourself as trans, just saying. It's just considered the popular choice

Agree. The tick is also okay, sneaky pete was okay. Those are the only ones that looked any way good that I remember.

Science isn't an entity that can agree or disagree with things. It's simply a discipline taught to students. Also the majority of clinicians responsible for studying and treating trans people all agree that transition is the best treatment available.

Enabling their mental illness would be more akin to forcing them to repress their expression, banning the body altering treatments they want and viciously punishing any deviance from gender norms. You know, something society has been doing to them for a very, very long time. Historically it's only made things worse and led to increased suicide attempt rate. Societal stigma and forced adherence to the birth sex/gender role just creates a feedback loop that exacerbates dysphoria, worsens quality of life and increases suicide risk.

Sneaky Pete was terrible, IMO. The pilot drew me in but it ran out of steam quick. Not to mention Bryan Cranston sucking his own dick every scene.

well no, it mostly did not live up to the pilot. The end of the season was good but it was very very slow going for a while.
