i have friends who have taught in chicago public schools, you can get fired for pretty much anything, especially talking back to young black adolescents in your own classroom, and they go through teachers very quickly. it seems these parents only care about their childs academic experience when their pride is observably injured in some way, as they will go out of their way to do things like this but not be strict with their children about finishing homework or studying.
