What excuse would weedman use to further fuck gun laws? I thought gun crime and crime in general was barely a thing in Canada.

SKS and AK are for little gooks. Mini 30 is the ultimate 7.62 to troll anti funners. It's unbannable even in Canada and Cuckifornia because it doesn't have any scary excess plastic like those other baby killers on the ban list (AR).

If Breiviking (I'm leaving that autocorrected) had got a mini 30 like he originally wanted he would have killed many more. Instead of using pussy 223 that is really only good for killing squirrels and small children.
I don't think the Breivs kill count had anything to do with the weapon he had. He was on a small camp island and his victims had nowhere to hide or escape. If I recall correctly his van bomb only killed like 2 people and the rest was just on that island.

You're not thinking this through. A 7.62 will blast much bigger holes in someone than a 223. So he could have used 2-3 rounds per person rather than 4-5 if he had used a mini 30 like he wanted. 517 survived and 66 lived through their wounds and that's almost as many as he killed so he could have potentially doubled his kill count with more stopping power.
Depends on what kind of ammo you load, what distance you're shooting from, and a whole bunch of other factors that we can't possibly surmise with any kind of accuracy.
Just because the bullet is slightly larger doesn't necessarily mean it kills better, up to a certain point. .50 BMG is obviously more effective at fucking people up than .22, but the difference between 7.62x39 and .223 is mainly going to come down to ammo type as to which is more lethal.

That tiny bullet is also traveling a hell of a lot faster and likes to shred and fragment when it hits at close range, unless you're shooting AP. It dumps a lot of energy into what it hits, and it does a lot of damage via cavitation. 7.62x39 tends to just tumble. It's a bigger round, sure. But it's a lot slower.
Yeah I understand mass x acceleration. When you do the mass x acceleration the force of 7.62 is greater. Around 400 joules greater.
I guess it is a good point that at over 200m 223 would be better because the 7.62 will have slowed down so much by then, but an intermediate cartridge that's good at long distances is kinda pointless.
