The policy was implemented by the school principal (not an ethnic dane) and most people expressed support for the policy.
They did it with the sole purpose of combating white flight, essentially every year for the last 10 years the demographic of the freshmen has shifted approximately 10 percent point. so in 2007 it was 25%, then it was 35 % and so on until where they are now at 80%. The sole idea is to avoid the remaining Danish students to apply to another school.
this is the first criticism I have heard of the policies, beside a concern about an educational A and B team - since Danish students on average are several grades beyond non-ethnic danes.

When you register you children for secondary schools in Germany the parents usually ask for their children to be placed with the same people in one class again as they had before so the class could stick together. That's how some of the guys from my town went through their whole school life together and I also did for my last school.
Nowadays this organization is a bit more funny. My sister in law started to organize a calls in that way herself for her children. She went to the kindergarten, talked to other parents and asked them about joining in one class. So they all go register their children at school and then say that they would like their kid A to be with kid B and so. This made the rounds so successfully that there was suddenly a rush an her from parents who wanted in on that list.
Fortunately there aren't even that much foreign pupils at the local elementary school they send their kids to, but I am still split over this list since they let two pairs of parents in who I know are green party because they helped placate for elections in our town and also invited the local candidate to talks. Usually I would agree for every Franconian and German to stick together, but I would have enjoyed it much more if they had told those parents that the list was already full but that their kid could now enjoy diversity!
Not only being a foreign majority sponsored by your parents but also one that beats and harasses you nonstop. There are schools in Berlin that are pure war zones where two German kids for example have to go to a class filled with Turks. It's pure hell and good outlook to how they are going to treat us once they reach enough numbers anywhere else.
