Why does Sup Forums want this to fail?

Why does Sup Forums want this to fail?

Because it looks try-hard as fuck.

because nobody asked for a sequel/reboot

cash grab shit

Sup Forums is a progressive board and the movie is not diverse enough

Because Villeneuve is a pretentious hack. It's reddit scifi literally. Who wants to watch cyber leaf?

It's only capeshit wankers who want it to fail, they're afraid studios leave colorful capeshit for neo noir sci-fi

This a capeshit enthusiast board. Get that shit outta here.

...

Why does this poster look so much more generic and dull than this one even though they’re almost exactly the same?

Is it the background?

Sup Forums is usually dead wrong about everything though.

>GotG is gonna flop!
>IT is gonna flop!

You will all be proven wrong faggots.
I went to an advanced screening and it's better than the original, way less pretentious but just if not more beautiful.

>inb4 film is not a visual medium contrarianism

Your one has the atari background and is saturated

Because it is an unnecessary sequel to a classic movie.

Ridley Scott already shat all over Alien, now he's trying to do the same with Blade Runner.

>ooohh blade runner is BACK AND BOOMING BABY look at this awesome trailer
>*BRRRWOOOOMMMMM*
>HARRISON FORD IS *BACK* IN HIS ALL-NEW AMAZING ATTIRE
>*BRRWOWOOOOMMR*
>ACTOR JARED LETO IS: l-look at me guys, I'm acting
>*DU DU BRWRWOOOOOMM*
>DO YOU REMEMBER Blade Runner© (5-Disc Ultimate Collector’s Edition)™ ?
>WELL YOU'RE GONNA LOVE THIS AMAZING AWESOME SEQUEL
>product not yet rated

>way less pretentious
You’re not doing this movie any favors. That just means it’s easier to digest.

The pretentiousness of that shit worked, gave depth and meaning to what could have just been future-noir.

That doesn't explain anything about how it's tryhard.

>Sicario
>Prisoners
>Enemy
>Incendies
Yh he's a hack alright

Can you elaborate?

I guess.

The fact that it doesn’t look like a YA cover probably helps too.

Because Rutger Hauer was the best part of the original.

He already did that by implying Deckard is a replicant.

Disney smear campaign in action.

God the opinion of he original flip flops on this board so much. Depending on the OP opinion you guys just switch to be contrarian I've seen people arguing the first was way too pretentious and let he movie down and now you're saying it's a positive.

>Pretentious
>Positive
What the fuck has this board turned into

Yeah, user, the board has gone bad. It's time for you to stop browsing Sup Forums.

Sup Forums wants everything new to fail.

Ridley is only a producer on this, so maybe it won't be tainted.

According to the interviews, Ridley Scott came up with the story.

>zimmer

This, too many nostalgiafags here.

holy fuck this can't be true

he can't be trusted with telling a story anymore

I think it looks okay.

*Braces for downvotes*

I see his general point: the fact that the movie is pandering to a nostalgic crowd to gain (((brownie))) points so they can sell more shit.

I feel like that’s not taking into account the director’s track record though. He’s made consistently strong, thought-provoking films that somehow manage to also be crowd pleasers. In a way, that’s PERFECT for a Blade Runner reboot.

Studio doesn’t want to take a risk but big nigga Blockbusters have been going down the toilet? Try making a blockbuster out of an art-house vision of the future.

harrison ford also said it's the best script he ever read

isn't he contractually obligated to?

No he just needs to turn up for a paycheck. He went out of his way to say this

They're making a new Blade Runner
>Ugh, it will be shi-

Oh wait, Villeneuve is directing, he has a solid track record
>Nu-uh Villeneuve is now a hack despite a flawless track record

Oh damn it looks like Deakins is doing the cinematography. Surely things are looking up now?
>Nu-uh, Deakins is now a hack fuck his vast experience and skill!

Ok, it's R-rated and has an almost 3 hour run-time. Surely this means they are letting Villeneuve control of the film?
>NO IT'S ALL TEH MARKETING

Ok they also have Zimmer on board, the writer from the original film and more and more talent keeps getting added
>They don't count stooooop

Early word on the street is that the film is really good
>LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU

Yeah, only capeshitters want ANOTHER reboot/decades later continuation of a classic film
