Routinely throughout the we are shown that your first impression of someone is wrong.

The show opens and closes on a monologue about "what does someone who would grafitti dicks look like?" and the point of that monologue is to say whatever you're thinking you're wrong.

That brings us to Ming. He's the only member of the morning show 9 with no alibi (Christa's alibi is called into question but I believe that's a red herring and she was just fucking her boyfriend and told her parents she was getting CPR certification and her boyfriend whipped up a certificate to show to her parents) but no one cares because "Dude, it's Ming". He is dismissed as a suspect because because he's too nice of a guy, he wouldn't do something like that. And, for some reason, no one ever changes their opinion on Ming once evidence of a difference in character is shown.

At nana's party we see Ming chug at least 9 beers, get wasted, take off his shirt, and yell "fuck the police" when the cops arrive. It shows that the guy you thought you knew has another side and every other time that happens they look into (e.g. Trimboli being a liar or Shaprio being a schemer) but they don't take another look at Ming. He already been dismissed as a suspect.

Consider though he no alibi, he had access to the security cameras, he was at the party where the spray can was. In fact in the video of the last known location of the spray can, as the cops arrive, who is right there shouting "fuck the police" at the last known location of the can? Ming.

But there's no motive, right? Well I'm at post length limit so give me a minute.

In the video's of nana's party we get a pretty clear accounting of ming's night. He is given beer after beer for the amusement of his classmates even though he had never drank before. Mostly that's what we see Ming doing, drinking, being given adderal, yelling at cops, but we see him one other time. One of the clips of the wayback boys talking on the couch gives a direct view to the upstairs before Gabbi's boyfriend went up there to get a towel. Upstairs is empty except for one guy. Ming. He's just sitting there, alone, staring straight ahead. Trying to get away from the party, from the chaos. Exactly how he looked when the food fight erupted. Disgusted at his classmates just waiting for it to be done. At some point though Ming gets dragged downstairs and made to drink beers for the amusement of his classmates again.

I believe in this moment Ming had enough of it. He didn't like his fellow classmates, they didn't respect him. They just saw as some funny foreign kid that they could make dance for their amusement. Ming likes order, he's canadian and he cleaned up after the food fight for fucks sake, but these kids just like chaos.

So in effort to tell his fellow students to go fuck themselves ming spray painted the dicks in the hopes that it would get prom cancelled and the fellow students would lose the thing they cared about most.

Ming drew the dicks. Ming deleted the footage. He did it all because what you think you know about someone is always wrong.

They theorized it but it didn't have to be. The two times the said it was a two man job was because Christa had a broken leg (which she might have been lying about as the boot she's wearing switches legs) so she couldn't have done the cars in the time needed so her boyfriend would have had to have been involved and when they thought Dylan was working with his girlfriend to get revenge on the gym teacher which was proven false. No reason it had to involve to people. Plenty of time for one person to do it all.

That's a pretty great theory, I think I'll belive in this now, poor Ming. It's kinda weird he was able to consume so much alcohol and drugs. I know that you can drink like crazy your first time, but he's small, thin AND Asian

Yeah I thought that for a minute too but we see Sam draw the first half of a dick when they're timing if Dylan could've done it and it looks a little different to the dicks on the cars. Also he had no way to get the spray can as he wasn't at the party. Also why would he help out with making the documentary looking for the real culprit?
