Who/what is the best horror movie icon or character/monster design?

Who/what is the best horror movie icon or character/monster design?

Freddy

Just in terms of terrifying aesthetics alone - maybe Leatherface?

it's definitely between slashers

Nightmares are not slashers, I wouldn't even say TCM is a slasher

Who is the Guy beneath Ghostface and above Leatherface supposed to be?

He's definitely my favorite.

Whatever you value most yourself. I think both visual design and personality are just as important as each other.

>fucking Dexter is in picture
>The Tall Man isn't
I fucking hate modern "horror" fans.

Anything in the overall general horror genre.

Obviously the Thing, everything else is just dudes in costumes

Do you like Freddy's Revenge? So many people hate it but I think it has the best score and is slightly better than Dream Warriors.

You're talking about either Rick from TWD or one of the aliens from They Live.

The first movie is the only one I've seen recently enough to remember properly. The rest I haven't seen in an incredibly long time. I really want to though.
Technically I saw the remake but that piece of shit doesn't count.

>Who/what is the best horror movie icon or character/monster design?
Plebs

Xenomorph, no contest.

>inb4 butt hurt about the later films

>Rick from TWD
him, didn't see it at first

No Ash 0/10

You should. 5 and 6 are meh but 2, 3 , 4 and New Nightmare are awesome. And yes the 2010 one is awful. It has its moments and is a good story but holy shit the nostalgia spoonfeeding and cgi are horrible.

>One of the aliens from They Live
>or Rick from the Walking Dead

>No The Tall Man

Pleb

WHEN?

This. More specifically, Frankenstein.

...

Best? Dunno.
But I can tell you which one is the most fuckable.

Perfection.

Ones that stand out to me

Freddy
Jason
The Thing
Leatherface

I'd have to pick Freddy though, guy was on another level

/ourguy/ the creeper

Only the first movie though

What movie?

Little Shop of Horrors & Predator

You serious? I feel bad posting the alien without his mask on. The reveal is genuinely one of the great moments in monster movie history.

fbpb, freddy is 11/10 design for a horror villain

Who's that guy?

Some Dutchman.

why are there 2 leatherfaces?
whos the guy below scream and who are the 3 guys (jacket man, screaming man and skeleton man) below exorcist girl?
who are the 2 weirdos to the left of reanimator?

Boris Karloff Frankenstein's monster.
Bela Lugosi Dracula.

More modern, probably Freddy, Leatherface, Hannibal Lecter, Michael Myers, the Alien

>I don't watch movies

Agreed.

Though I've always had a thing for The Creature from the Black Lagoon... That and Clint Eastwood as a dipshit labtech in the sequel was an unexpected laugh.

Thanks for clarifying that bro.

>Hannibal Lecter
Much as he's a memorable character, I wouldn't say 'Anthony Hopkins in a jumpsuit' is exactly the most inspired design.
Karloff Frankenstein/the Alien are definitely best though.

Not to mention Hopkins us the 3rd best Lector, behind Cox and Mads.

>Frankenstein
Frankenstein's monster*

I was thinking more design of the mask

Him, in the mask, in the jumpsuit is instantly iconic though. Everyone would recognise that mask by itself, whereas something like Freddy's hat or claws or Michael Myers' mask and jump suot aren't as well known as you'd think

rebbit

>Freddy's hat or claws or Michael Myers' mask and jump suot aren't as well known as you'd think

Also that fag from the rob zombie movies

Dylan Husonna VonBitch

>Sid Haig
>"that far from Rob Zombie movies"
Again, I hate modern "horror" fans.

Mads' Lecter is not as good as Hopkins'.

I agree with that. With the exception of his scrotum face and claw glove, nothing about his design is noteworthy on its own. But they're still immediately recognizable as Freddy's.

That's not Mindy Clarke in Return of the Living Dead III

Strangely enough I've always considered the striped sweater and the hat to be the most recognisable part of Freddy's design.

Julius Benedict.

But we can agree that Cox was the best?

Yeah, they definitely are definitively Freddy. They seem completely out of place and they really don't match at all, it's kind of jarring to think about. It's a dorky sweater, if someone were just wearing a red and green striped sweater I'd think "What a loser." He doesn't NEED to wear a badass leather jacket or straps all over or anything like that.

I would have to have seen more, he was a little too underplayed.

>No pinhead
DROPPED

>below exorcist girl
Ash from Evil Dead
Dad from the Fathers Day segment of Creepshow
not sure about the other one

>left of Reanimator
I think the bottom one might be Castle Freak. The other one might be the bike guy from Mouth of Madness

>under Exorcist girl
>Ash
that's American Werewolf in London you fucking imbecile

Lower left of Herbert West is Chop-Top from Texas Chainsaw 2

i was about 13 when the ring came out on VHS, that was the scariest for me

before that, the scariest for me was the vampires from dusk till dawn, i think i was about 8-10 not sure when i saw that, anyway watched that with my friend late at night when i was sleeping over, he already fell asleep and we didnt know it was a horror, just thought we were seeing some sexy boobies, i literally had nightmares from that for a few days, i turned off the movie after the first big vampire scene and couldnt sleep all night

I feel like rewatching TCM II.

Love that movie.

Grand Poohbah

yeh the creeper is pretty good design

>Look what you did to my Sonny Bono wig!

Pazuzu in the exorcist, the only 'scary' movie that can still give me the neck hair standing feel

Jason. His hockey mask is always used in pop culture

that and pic related for some reason
