Same time when the middle east becomes a successful, prosperous land.
So never.

Never.

As soon as india.

here it is, I think you may appreciate this: *pic*

> while you're looking at this listen to this beautiful song: youtube.com/watch?v=1rYb8oSrgJ0

When its people stop expecting politician A, politician B, God, military, batman, ... to save them.

>brazil
>superpower
pick one

I'd say only if some disaster happened that wiped out most of the major political parties and like 70% of the population (mostly niggers) and forced the people to band together and actually take advantage of the immense natural resources the country has.

Otherwise we are just heading down the path to continue to be a less-shitty Africa

this is the last year of crisis: *pic* (the most recent forecast for 2017 is 1% ;))
>youtube.com/watch?v=CYE4aGQJ5kg

>when they quit being lazy and corrupt.

quem de voces vota PT? jajajaja

Once people here realize that what makes a good country is a good citizen, not a good politician

you should read more news and less mangas harumi-chan

Assuming the price of fossil fuels increases in the coming decades, Brazil will be in good shape because of its hydroelectric resources. They've also got a lot of natural resources, which is why their economy is mostly exports.

I'm not sure they can really rise to "superpower" very quickly because their government has rampant corruption, to the point where it has become part of their culture. Many affluent brazilians are leaving the country because they simply can't deal with the government's incompetence, resulting in major brain-drain to Europe and the USA.

It is illegal to not vote in Brazil. As a result, most of the time the largest and poorest group of people vote in the government that will provide the most public benefits. The politicians proceed to be incredibly corrupt and squander the nation's resources, and forms a major class division between rich and poor.

Brazil is also incredibly large. There are serious regional rivalries that prevent them from having any true national identity. Interestingly, they do not have a huge problem with race, even though there were many black and Caribbean slaves during Portuguese Empire days. Blacks and whites have mixed enough that there isn't the same kind of race divide you see in the USA.

Assuming Brazil can solve their corruption problem, maintain their white collar workers, and unify in a constructive way, I see them becoming the leader among a struggling South America.

>Once people here realize that what makes a good country is a good citizen, not a good politician

We have neither of those huefriend.

then 3 years from now it turns shit again.
Every single "brazilian miracle" and "brazil is rising " and "brazil gon be a supapowar" moment ends in a shitty economy in 20 years max. We even manage to lose the boom due to the chinese commodities boom
>resources
>Venezuela
you're assuming our government (because it will likely not be the people, with state run companies and all) can run shit

I invite any Brazilians to correct me if I'm wrong, this is just a burger's perspective.

The very, VERY distant future. Ever seen planet of the apes?

When they start speaking a civilized Germanic language.

>a civilized Germanic language.

Allahu Akbar!!!

>Interestingly, they do not have a huge problem with race, even though there were many black and Caribbean slaves during Portuguese Empire days.

That's the only thing I see that's good about Brazil and is probably unique in the whole world, everyone is friend to everyone.

After the extermination of the leftist scum that undermine our country.

show me your data or your boobs
>both are valid arguments

>youtube.com/watch?v=BNjdJtbpS8w

we are already the leader among a struggling South America
We have a bigger economy than all the spanish speaking countries around us combined

I'de say the part about not having any real national identity is false, read brazilian nationalism from the XIXth century and how Brazil is, quite frankly, less diverse regionally than the US (the fact we are very centralized in the federal government, and our national news media dominates state-level ones contribute to this), and I'd add that it's not just poor people voting dumbly, the worst kind of voters here are young, wealthy, self-entitled experts in universities and the media who act like they live in europe and vote for the same lib policies that fail everywhere, like being soft on crime (no gun rights, max 30 years in jail, if you "behave" you can get out after 1/3 of your penalty, 10% of murders solved, judges have a jurisprudence of "guaranteeism" that basically guarantees no thug is left behind when he can find an excuse to not be punished, etc), major welfare, government-run pensions, etc, with the difference that we're a third-world country filled with crime so these things actually wreck everything more than there (now we're below replacement level and getting old and with a broken pension system without even being rich, and with crime as f). On polls it shows consistently that poor people believe liberal bs like "the cause of crime is poverty/unequality" and "arresting criminals doesn't reduce crime" less than entitled fucks, but they're also support paternalist economics more (but everyone supports it here).

Othrwse you're basically right, the government tries to stoke class hatred, and since the 2000s racial hatred as well, and they like the fact people have no idea how government works to just lie lie lie all the time, and many times the media jst doesn't give af and helps

Other problems are infrastructure (generally poor, and poorly integrated from place to place, basically the coast and mainly the southeast is better off -still shit tho- and the further in you go the worse it gets), the we only really care about executive elections

so they expect some savior president to just fix shit up while never bothering to do anything of significance (our electoral system greatly helps this btw)
well that's not exactly hard to do

You're right, you guys really do come together for the world cup hue hue

basically the 80s, the early 2000s and some earlier periods when we grow a little, every foreign journalist acts as if we're gonna be a power, then we fuck up, don't fix anything we should, like infrastructure and economic/labour/financial policies, and just lose our opportunity.
I think we're better than we were then, and can fight these problems better now, since we had some good (if few) changes there, but I'm not that hopeful we'll actually fix the problems we haven't fixed for 200 years (and if you read parliamentary discussions in the empire's period, you can see them saying "we need to fix" many of the things we still say we need to fix today)

trolling and hueing is the brazilian way

no boobs then, I suppose ¬¬

You're going to hate me for this, but I'd argue that Argentina is getting along better in terms of standard of living and not having horrible crime.

Can't beat Brazilian women though

Only manboobs mr XyPficDx, you wouldn't like them.
Don't forget, all we need is people to go full retarda again and elect some PSOL retard in 2018 for all of our stability to go away

>average 85 IQ nationwide
>crooks rule the country
>too many niggers, faggots and overall leftists alive
>not a single guy to start up right wing death squads
NEVER EVER

Brazil would need a (competent) emperor/dictator to even have a chance of becoming a superpower.

As long as there's democracy favela niggers are just going to keep voting for more socialism.

Once they get rid of their brown people.

'Brazil is the country of the future... and always will be.' - Charles de Gaulle

Sorry Brazil bros.

>Just hosted the Olympics so there will be an inevitable recession since Brazil is not a first world cunt
