>would [video game] make a good movie?
the answer is always no

>the most normie, overrated empty do-nothing video game ever made into a good movie

lol

No. Would thousands and thousands of people go see it anyway because it's one of the most circlejerked about games of all time? Yes.

Idris as Wander

no, you would have to cram a fuck ton of world building. and this game has no dialogue.

Yes, but only if Rob Schneider plays his wacky wisecracking sidekick.

Very lovecraftian looking. Del Toro should direct.

No, structurally it's more suited to a video game.

But a film adapatation of The Last Guardian would work pretty well, and you could incorporate elements of Shadow of the Colossus if you wanted.

Not if it's directed by JJ Abrams

Skyrim?

No should just give it to the anime studio for Attack on Titan

What if Rob Schneider played a wisecracking Dormin?

i relentlessly think it would relentlessly make a relentlessly enjoyable movie

> *could* it make a good film?
Yes

> would it make a good film
No, almost certainly not. In order to be good it would need a large budget and state of the arts effects. It would also need to be a borderline experimental art film.

It would never get funded, and even if it did mass audiences would hate it. But in the right hands it could theoretically work.

You fuckers live in a cave or what? They are making a SotC movie and the director is the guy who directed IT.
This board has to be the worst in terms of cinema knowledge/tastes, at least we got the memes

How would each director handle it?

>Yasujirō Ozu
>Leaves out the giants
nuttin personnel

It would be absolutely amazing if given to a competent director, and if said director was given artistic freedom. The problem is that this movie, if made well, will either be a flop, or a production studio will force them to change it.

It would be an incredible movie if it was done with virtually no dialogue, save for a few key flashbacks for whatever minimal backstory Wander needs. Complete silence as he travels to take on the 6 or so colossi they choose to put in the movie. But movies free of dialogue tend not to do well.

Wrong, game has dialogue. Just not much

fpbp

Not really. The entire point of the game is that you're holding onto R1 for most of it. Then you have to let go in the end. That's why this game is 10/10. It uses gameplay to affect story and theme.
It would be completely lost in a film, and you would have to think of something else. And at that point, you can do that with any game.

pure kino if done like right. This already captured elements of it.
