Part 6 is the best. But the whole thing needs more Trent Reznor.
So I'm at the last episode right now and boy things aren't looking great. We still win though, right guys?
>no spoilers
bruh
kek
very good
i was hoping for less trent. i cringed when I heard The Mark Has Been Made
Musgrave steals the show, great documentary overall. It blows Burns WWII documentary out of the water.
If I had one criticism, it would be that, at times, the documentary doesn't get deep enough. I was also sort of hoping for some more pre-French Occupation Indo-Chinese history in the first episode. But Burns covers the entire war brilliantly as a whole, which more than makes up for the few shortcomings. I imagine that many high schools and colleges will start showing clips of this documentary in the future.
It didn't focus enough on actual combat and battles.
I agree. If you watch his docu on Prohibition he digs a lot deeper into underlying causes and such. I wanted to know more pre-American history. I also wanted to know more about things like CIA, Air America, MACV-SOG, LRRP's, the Riverine units, Montagnards, heroin trade, South Korean and ANZAC involvment. It was like Prohibition quenched my thirst whilst the Vietnam War made me thirsty for more knowledge, no pun.
>please no spoilers
We win the war.

Hmm...
That south Vietnamese aristocrat girl they interviewed a lot was the top qt in the whole series by miles. Though there were more than I was expecting since the men are hideous
which episode?
Musgrave stole the show. I also kinda liked the black guy with the bow tie. McPeak was cool too
Right, they "won" then tortured the country for 15 years before collapsing. The US cause was good, South Vietnam just didn't come together into a viable country like South Korea did. There were some strategic mistakes the US made too that they didn't make in Korea, I give Eisenhower and his administration credit for that. But the will of the people who lived there is what it came down to. Bummer all around
...
I'm halfway through and she has been in each so far iirc. There are some good young pictures of her in #5 I think
Ho was ourguy, the hardliners forced him into irrelevancy and used his legend for propaganda purposes once he died, renaming saigon is case in point
communism never existed
she was nuts and then she gargled mine
>
>15 years before collapsing
I just looked this up and it doesn't seem to be right, I'm not sure where I got it from. not done with the series yet They definitely chilled out and switched basically to market socialism toward the end of the 20th century though
Duong Van Mai Elliott is her name
I think it should be available on ANY heterosexual streaming service. I feel shitty pirating it, but I'm not about to give money to the rest of PBS's shitty programming
>muh action
