That's how it is with most teen characters, especially at Marvel. You can't age them much without aging the rest of the characters, and they don't want to do that else they get too far from the status quo. So they either die or get forgotten.

Infinity: The Hunt, a tie-in mini with the Infinity event. Pym gets together with the other young hero academies around the world to have a friendly contest between the students. Thanos shit goes down and they have to work together. A lot of them were new characters.
