Creepy movie recommendations (not necessarily "horror")

Let's recommend each other some creepy movies. Many (if not most) horror movies aren't creepy, and some movies that may not technically be considered horror are creepy as fuck. List any movies that gave you an uneasy, weird, creeped-out feeling.
>They Look Like People
>Inland Empire
>Eraserhead
>Signs
>Secret Window
>Jacob's Ladder
>The Corridor
>Lake Mungo
>The Fourth Kind
>House Hunting
>Banshee Chapter
>The Taking of Deborah Logan
>Yellowbrickroad
>The Shrine

Thought of a couple more:

>Black Swan
>The Nightmare (documentary)

>The Cell
>Enemy

Fire in the Sky
Don't Look Now
The Arrival (1996)

>Pulse (japanese version)
>Noroi
>Session 9
>Jeepers Creepers

Dead Man's Shoes
Kill List

Is that movie about minorities?

KIYOSHI KUROSAWA'S CURE

DON'T WATCH ANY TRAILERS

There's a new one. Short IMDB description sounds like it could be creepy as hell, I'm excited! Thanks!

Very good movie. Needs some paying attention like donnie darko

I already saw the twist coming early on but I was still dreading the buildup to that scene. Haven't felt the same with any other horror/thriller desu

Movies that literally made my heart sink or my stomach cave in
>The VVitch
>Mysterious Skins
>The Child I Never Was: Story of Josef Fritz
>Gacy

>>The Child I Never Was: Story of Josef Fritz
man that sounds soul-crushing, i want to be creeped out not lose my faith in humanity

Some of my favorites are french extreme films.

Martyrs is one my favs

Isn't that basically torture porn? These are supposed to be creepy movies. Is there anything actually creepy about it?

It's basically the Shota version of Lolita but the grown up kills 6 boys. I only got through 2/3s before I shut it off.

Freaks
The Wicker Man
Santa Sangre

Also lake mungo if you are into slow subtle horror.

TPT was the last film to actually make me shiver...

They Look Like People is a recent favorite of mine, OP. It's really good imo.

THE BABADOOK

Its just great

I've still never seen the whole thing, but some of that imagery is unsettling as fuck.

>the backwards walk
>the captive's rubber mask

No stop, it’s the same jump scares you have seen a hundred times before. If you want creepy kid horror just watch orphan or the omen or something like that.

All movies like insidious, the ring (US), conjuring, Annabelle etc are in this stagnate vein.

Only movie to make me shiver like I said, it’s something that sticks with you ans afterward you are checking over your shoulder.

They're still shilling They Look Like People? How long is this gonna last?

kekd audibly

yeah what a shitty list. wonderful way to start a thread

kys you're self

That movie's direction and color are strange in a bad way. It's like watching a series of tumblr gifs with shitty continuity.

I don't get the hype either. Premise wasn't executed well, fearful moments were too few and far between. I also got around to Creep the other day and thought it was only passable, besides Mark Duplass being a good actor.

I watched The Happening today. Entertaining enough, but not great.
Also, I don't know if I should blame the actors, the direction, or the casting but the acting was terribly cheesy in most scenes.

It always gives me this funny feeling of "gee, there are people in the world capable of these things". I know its a mockumentary but i never really stop and think about just how many sick fucks there are in the world

>Creep
been planning to rewatch this one as I remember I liked it

all the supernatural shit is garbage. good old monster survival is the best kind of horror

>The Arrival (1996)
brings me back. when I was still a little kid this movie really spooked me

you sound like a closet gay pedo

looks like I got the wrong Creep

youre talking about the 2014 one? only saw the trailer but it looks like complete garbage. the 2004 one is the good one

It is, but there's something else going on. I recommend a watch.

>The Arrival
I watched this with my dad and I couldn't have been older than 7. It creeped me right out.

>Dem knees bending backwards

I've only seen it that one time.

>recommending Yellowbrickroad

user please

mothman prophecies, 2001, bone collector, resurrection, barton fink

this movie is way better than most people think

Fuck normies in the ass for ruining this.

Resolution (2012)

Blatant contrarianism can't stop this movie from being good.

The Survivalist

The Eyes of My Mother

>closet
You don't deserve those dubs.

Horror is hard to recommend, well-made films aren't necessarily scary and things that scare me aren't always well-made. Most horror films entertain, interest, and maybe disgust me, but don't scare me. The last film I watched that genuinely scared me was Lake Mungo which wasn't even that good overall imo.

>what doth life?
It was the Xavier Renegade Angel origin story.

>le stoic horror fan

I'm not trying to be stoic or whatever, I am a huge pussy when it comes to jumpscares lol but when I say I was "genuinely scared" by Lake Mungo I mean I lost sleep over it.

Bug.

Horror is a broad genre, like comedy. I just use the word when defining any movie that conveys any kind of fear, paranoia or creepiness. Embrace the title you pretentious fucks

for

There is literally not a single jump scare in that entire movie

there's the scene where babadook crawls on top of the roof during the night and then jumps at the protagonist, still not a jump scare though.

>Life is Beautiful
Lees for the tension. More for the empathy.
>Room
Tension
>Gravity
Space is frightening, yo.
