alright my favorite terminator not directed by james cameron

>t-x
Fucking kek

Is the soundtrack good?
The only really worthwhile thing about the original bladreunner was its soundtrack

zimmer horns.

no vangelis at all

Nooo...

>What the hell did i just watch?
Best movie of the year so far and better than anything Disney has made since the 1980s

no.

they actually got to even make zimmer bland

They should've used the guy from Sicario

>no vangelis at all
thank god

I almost cried in the end where Goose is laying on the snow bleeding.

no vangelis until the last 5 min of the film

Really? All Im hearing are glowing reviews from what few have seen it, so much so that they are saying its a modern classic. What was wrong with it? The director has done great things in the past why is this one the average one? Dont tell me its another one of those
>"its the best movie ever made! "
>its forgotten in a month and noone talks about it or remembers it

That's what you get for trusting reviewers that praise movies like wonder woman and civil war

OP's just a contrarian, usual Sup Forums

It was really quite alright, it's astounding this film even got made, a 2:45 hour film with tons of CG and zero normie appeal. Genuinely felt sad when they killed his VR waifu, the twists were decent too.

It's gonna bomb in America, it has no action just like the original. Americans are gonna hate this movie.

Glossy.
Also contrived, bleak and without charm, almost devoid of ideas and not confident in the few it does play around with, leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination. My biggest gripe, however, is that it leaves the existentialism of the first in favor of an essentialist outlook which is completely uninteresting and oddly dated in a time when A.I. is a very hot topic. The political dimension of the story is force-fed to us and then left in the dust.

Lifeless. That’s the word I’m looking for.

OP is just baiting or trying too hard, the movie was pretty good.

Honestly just fucking ignore Sup Forums, go and see it and form your own opinion. Sup Forums will try to poison your enjoyment of anything remotely popular.

It's good, it's not better than the original and it never would have been. It tackles different issues, I can see people being mad that it expanded a cinematic universe that was ehanced by it's vague nature and frankly Deckard DID feel shoehorned in but yeah, it didn't offend me and Blade Runner has been my favourite film for twenty years.

It was far better than the original though.

What you got is what I was expecting. I'll wait until I can pirate it.

>I guess in the end we were all the bladerunner 2049.
Christ you guys, I didn't think it was possible to make a movie this bad

It's exactly like that like every other highly praised movie that's been put out since 2013. Remember the shills want to encourage the plebs sensibility on this board because it makes their job easier. They want "dude everyone get hyped for the latest movie, ha ha I love fun popcorn times aren't movies fun and comfy. you booked your tickets yet? Look at the rotten tomatoes score! Oh, you didn't like it? Well that's okay, everyone is entitled to their opinion" reddit environment. Real Sup Forums rage against this drift towards hugbox on a daily basis. Cinema should be a slaughter house. This is a medium of suffering in the name of authenticity and the board should refect that. This isn't 'fun times "film buff" clubhouse'.

Holy mother of fucking CRINGE

Except this isn't just another shat out Disney blockbuster, it was clearly trying to balance being a marketable film and one 'we' would enjoy. I reccomend you pirate it, see, guess that's one way to confirm I'm not a shill.

Y O U

I watched it today and pretty much agree with everything he said. prefer it to the original especially after cinemasins revealed how much of a hack Ridley was, not even meme criticisms

The guy you're quoting is a shill himself though, notice how you'll never see these kind of posts in threads about Disney movies (Marvel and nu Star Wars flicks mainly), despite being much more reddit friendly movies. Look at the post/IP ratio too, there are only like 4 disney shills on Sup Forums, these threads always get to 2x ratio by the 30 or 40 post

>The guy you're quoting is a shill himself though, notice how you'll never see these kind of posts in threads about Disney movies
that's korinefag you newfag. he use to spam this shit about guardians of the galaxy all the time

No

The film was pure kino and if you don't get that you're a brainlet.

>prefers it to the original

cinema is dead.

fucking kys you pleb

Excellent film, the last half of the film was pure kino. Film felt a bit too short though.

2H 45m~ feels too short? Maybe you were just enjoying it so much that you lost track of time, that happens.

It was the weakest part of it, Zimmer is a hack. The only good parts of the soundtrack are the callbacks.

music was utterly forgettable

pretty much retarded he only need to pick a prophet5 and wank it

...

It's Blade Runner for the Millenial generation.

The ideia that we are all somehow special, and that we're all meant for greater and bigger things. Joi is a wonderful, caring loving entity, but she's also a manufactured product created to instill self-worth into lonely depressed men. To egg them into thinking they can be bigger than they are.

I specially love the scene near the ending with the Joi billboard. That's Joe realising that his sense of self, and identity, was falsely created by himself when he fell in love with an artificial product whose entire purpose was to tell him what he wanted to hear. And she did her job perfectly, so he decides to do his too

Was anyone else distracted by the fact JOI stands for Jerk Off Instructions and it's a type of porn readily available on Youtube?
Personally I wasn't, I really wanted a Joi girlfriend even though I have a fiancee

wait I thought THAT was exactly what they were referencing.. am I mistaken?

No it stands for Juicy Orifice Intelligence

hi matt

if you think this movie was lifeless you are severly autistic and should seek counsel

purposive lifelessness imo, and a condemnation of our existence, much like the original was of the 80s

The movie works: core story is clear and executed in a way that makes sense. It's not perfect and it's questionable if most of the scenes had to be that long but if you are on Sup Forums there is no reason to not see it.

can someone tell me how good is the cyberpunk?
im only going to watch it for that

>how good is the cyberpunk?
Are you aware how dumb you sound?

Yup, pretty much reminded of this being Tron Legacy to Blade Runner's Tron. Martin Sheen was a more entertaining villain though, even the soundtrack was better with Daft Punk orchestra edition. Zimmer was beyond shit.

this, fuck peoples thinking this has a deep soul in it, it's just a hack like Nolan do everytime, good cinematography doesn't make good story . nothing abstract and mysterious here like the original, just millenials "deep movies" pandering

>good cinematography doesn't make good story
Good cinematography is exactly that, you utterly ignorant brainless fucking casual.
"Good cinematography" is not empty pretty pictures, it's using the visual narrative to tell the story through the visuals (and sound), like it should be told in a visual medium like film.

>Finished watching it maybe an hour ago
its good, ask me specifics, dont want to type walls of text

good cinematography make good movies, not good story, but a best, good storytelling . Blade Runner 2048 is a good movie with a weak story and a lack of soul, it is a carefully engineered narrative puzzle, and its power dissipates as the pieces snap into place. As sumptuous and surprising as it is from one scene to the next, it lacks the creative excess, the intriguing opacity and the haunting residue of its predecessor. .

I actually find the story of the new one far more intriguing and fleshed out than the original, especially in the romance sub plot.
