only thing that went wrong was that you weren't swallowed instead

>wallance
lmao

>Visual looks worse than the original, everything is blurry and dark

How I know you havent seen the original.

When K’s encounter with Ford’s Deckard finally occurs, Villeneuve forfeits the emotional power of the parent-child reunion one expects for a series of ridiculous last-minute hazards. This ending is cheap. When a subsidiary character announces, “There’s a bit of every artist in their work,” it doesn’t justify Villeneuve selling out his usual grasp toward profundity.
(The subplot of an underground revolution led by Hiam Abbass as a one-eyed radical evokes Incendies, but it’s a frustrating distraction.)

Because Villeneuve has submitted to Scott’s director’s-cut pseudo-profundity, he loses the chance to make Blade Runner 2049 mean something in the current moral upheaval, in which dystopia and the distance between humans and apparatchiks are everyday realities. Ultimately, Villeneuve’s sequel is more ultra-hack Scott than visionary Wong. Blade Runner’s awesomeness is gone.

you sound mentally challenged user

>>Visual looks worse than the original, everything is blurry and dark
Different, not really worse.
>>dumb plot with the resistance army inserted near the end of the film and never mentioned again
Yeah, kinda.
>>Wallance's motivation was dumb and never resolved
? It was clearly stated he wanted to retrieve the son of Rachel as he was the key to replicant able to reproduce.
>>soundtrack is the reused OG blade Runner motif with heavy BRRRRMPPPPPPPPP remixed with
Lie.
>>the tranquil atmosphere is replaced with loud bombastic CGI explosions
Yeah, different atmo' doesn't make it bad.
>>the dirty, drenched environment of the original somehow become clean and sleek
Yeah, doesn't make it bad.
>>shit villains
meh
>>zero ambiguity
meh

It's a different movie, not a copy of the original, get over it or go back to watching the first Blade Runner.

Fuck off retard. Never post again

>everything is blurry and dark
>the dirty, drenched environment of the original somehow become clean and sleek
Maybe, just maybe, that's the fucking point of the new one?
Christ these post are getting more braindead with every passing day

btw the first Blade Runner is still better, but it does not make 2049 a bad movie.

>low effort thread

How I know you havent seen the original.

There's more women browsing Sup Forums than I usually thought

Did you even watch it?

>I WANT THE NEW ONE TO BE EXACTLY AS THE ORIGINAL
Just stop embarassing yourself.

this

This film was undeniably beautiful. However I felt the story and some of the performances lacking.

Somehow the 15 minute anime did a better job of investing me in the characters due to its simple and focused narrative. Somehow the anime score is better than the live action movie.

youtube.com/watch?v=rrZk9sSgRyQ

Is that why you like it? Because you're completely underexposed to cinema outside popnerd culture media?

Twice, actually

isn't this because of the blackout? nothing to do with the original.

not OP but I did, and they're agreeable points

the music was especially irritating

zimmer is starting to genuinely piss me off

comparing the two doesn't work. one movie is at a different time of day, and it's 30 years into the future, when climate change and pollution have gotten worse.

Jesus Christ just stop

>comparing the two doesn't work.
fuck off

The blackout happened like 20 years ago, it got nothing to do with the shitty CG

>Now The Dust Has Settled, Do We Know What Went Wrong?
You became a cringe contrarian and I didn't read the rest of your post

Yeah, I was thinking this also. With Watanabe's shirt you feel everything; the stakes, the sacrifice, the tone.

When I was watching 2049 I was thinking Trixie didn't die for this shit future. And that's incredible that I'm more attached to the two characters In the anime short than I am in a 3 hour sequel.

>Waaahhh it isn't exactly he same as the original so it's bad
Fuck off

Remember when you constantly spammed that Sup Forums would be blown out by armond white liking it? What happened, shill?

It's an shitty excuse made up to match with the shitty CGI, the new one got clear sky snow scene but it's still looks like a lazy simplistic shit compared to the old one

user, you're talking like the new one should look exactly the same as the original. Are you aware how retarded that is?
You think Deakins wouldn't shoot on film on the same camera with the same exact setup if he wanted for it to look exactly the same?

I bet you would then make this same exact thread "WAAAH IT'S EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL WAAAAH"

Me too. The score was really hit or miss with zimmers loud batman esque track in the first 15 minutes when we head back to the city being the worst offender.

I would really like to hear Johanssons original score.

Giving a shit what a contrarian nigger thinks
Oh am I laffin

Remember how long and detailed the down town scene in the movie was? In the new one it's obviously in a set with only a few extras

Oh now that he doesn't agree with you and your pleb flick?

>shitty CGI
user most of the film is entirely practical, that's where the majority of the budget went to because Villeneuve hates working with green screen or CGI unless he absolutely has to.
And the CGI used (for example Sean Young) is completely seamless and spot on.

yeah i was thinking this. The brothel was also just ridiculous and unrealistic. Why were people eating sandwiches right next to it? what the fuck?

Crying: the movie

>heavy BRRRRMPPPPPPPPP
I hate it

That's the entire point, the new one is showing the bleak empty sterile future that is in contrast with the dense, dirty and cluttered setting of the original, but you are so fucking retarded that you think that the point that the sequel is not a rehash of the original is some kind of argument.
You're embarassing yourself with each and every post.

I kind of agree, but it could be argued that it was intentional. The earth in the film has suffered a complete collapse and is basically a dying husk. Everyone that can afford to has left for the colonies.
While it probably was just that the original had more care put in, it makes sense in context of the film.

They Ripped off Binary Domain. Nice

Isn't that the fucking intention?

>mfw the shill posts for this movie made me realize that most of Sup Forums has bad taste in movies

Every specialist board is like that op. It drives you mad but stick around for the memes

yeah, this shit is obtuse bullshit, probably to make you think the movie is more authentic than it is

it sounds like they created a light room, similar to what Oblivion did, so they can film a convincing footage to how light reacts around the actor, but the finish and the hologram is most definitely CGI

Name your top 5 films

It was their intention to make the movie looks like it's filmed in a sound stage with green screen background?

Finns

I disliked the anime short as well. The characters have nothing going for them other than blabbing out cringe-worthy dialogue while following a cliche rebellion plot. Very un-Blade Runner. Music was also forgettable.

Wolfhard?

The entire time I was thinking the flat concrete set design would be more at home in a Judge Dredd movie

What's more likely user, that they just filmed Ana De Armas naked and projected it, or someone to have to recreate her entire nude body as a seamless 3D model that looks entirely real?

Exactly

>society doesn't change in 30 years!
>everyone has a perfect waifu AI and chill in their apartments all day instead of eating chinese food in the rain

But it doesn't? There is no green screen used in that scene in the new one, you're talking bullshit user.

It's not about how many people in the street, it's how artificial the street looks like in the new one.
The old one has all the ambition sounds and detailed props in every corner, the new one looks clearly a movie set with green screen.
The old one looks like the street expands on and on because it follows Deckard running around, the new one just seems like it's that one street with nothing beyond it

Hmm

how about neither of those

Damn..you really know your stuff

archive.4plebs.org/tv/search/image/aEWoGpJsHBIZTGvuRKjz4Q/
Shill doing damage control

I thought the score was great. But the big IMAX loudness might have helped that.

>Damage control
Do you even know what that is?

>it's how artificial the street looks like in the new one.
It really doesn't.

>the new one looks clearly a movie set with green screen
It really doesn't, that entire set was built from scratch, keep in mind that the budget was nearly $200 million dollars.

>the new one just seems like it's that one street with nothing beyond it
That's because there probably isn't much beyond it, considering you have home virtual waifus and nature itself is pretty much dead.

Now that i think of it, all the fucking scenes were like that, except for the CGI fly by. Piece of a sound stage and shit added in post.

they filmed her, isolated her image, put a bunch of effects on her and made her xbox huge compared to Gosling.

None of that retarded ''projecting her as you see in the movie'' and also no need to recreate her in 3d from scratch unless the actress is a prude, which she doesn't seem to be

Almost every single scene is entirely practical user.

I'd disagree. The new one has lots of detail and looked lived in. The old one did too but it also looked like it was just made up of things they props department bought that looked "futuristic". Both looked esqually great.

nice headcanon user

Was Dr. Badger's performance Oscar worthy?

Lmao

you're literally retarded

Everything you said is merely an assumption, while is an official statement that I'm sure will be shown in the behind the scenes.

Why aren't you posting your little pasta anymore shill?

"Look at me. I am the Blade Runner now."

What did he mean by this?

>>>The part where K screams for the first time

>Calls someone retarded when he just makes up shit, while saying an actual statement from the director himself is a lie
*Inhales*

>And the CGI used (for example Sean Young) is completely seamless and spot on.

This. I didn't even know she was CGI'd until I read afterward. I genuinely thought it was an actress with an uncanny likeness touched up with a little CGI.

you are genuinely stupid as fuck if you think that scene was real

he says "the impact of the light is real" which is what they used to construct the final image with, not that they filmed a holographic image with technology that is non-existant

yes

What went wrong?

Where did I say or even imply they used a holographic image? Did you even read what it says in the picture?
They filmed her and then projected the filmed footage of her there, so the final result is all in camera.
Are you just mentally challenged?

a replicant revolution, a massive black out, all of nature ded, long lifespan for replicant, huge titty AI waifus

"I know these are real..."

people are literally all eating outside at night in one scene

>Where did I say or even imply they used a holographic image?
>They filmed her and then projected the filmed footage of her there

what did he mean by this?

DAH

those are just poor street scum that can't afford to have a digital waifu

>no Watanabe 13-episodes BR/cyberpunk full series
fuck

I thought that the whole scene was a commentary on using CGI.

"She's not real".

A holographic image implies that it is 3D, while this was just a projected 2D image.

I agree with you, the score and empty city was a let down for me, cause that was one of the most enjoyable things in the original, I don't think the movie is bad but it was lacking in immersion.

told you since the beginning jared leto would fuck it up

>I love you.
Y-You don't have to say that.
>I know. .

Was it true love? Does it even matter?

I had a mad boner at that scene.
Something just gets me with the demon eyes

Armond didn't like it? Well that's it, KINO confirmed

>3 results
damn disney shills really are desperate today

But if he did like it then it would have been kino right, shill?

Why are you making shit up?
That's not how it went at all

And obviously she genuinely loved him, as much as her AI would allow, which i feel was real.

She would do everything she could for him, even hire a prostitute so they can finally have sex. And it was real because she would get emotional and upset

I guess it was going to be kino anyway since the moment the movie was great
