Good point. As children we weren't aware of all that shit happening.
Still, you can't deny that there's been a huge demand for 80's/90's stuff to return (Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones, Crystal Maze), and I think it does on some level have to do with nostalgia for both children who grew up in that period, as well as adults who watched it at the time. There's more rebooting going on than new concepts being created.
