So, do kids even like this show?

so, do kids even like this show?

I want to go on adventure with Brambe and Prohias

Nah. I work as a school teacher for fifth graders, and most kids don't even really watch TV anymore, it's all vidya and youtube.

Watching cartoons past, like, nine years old is seen as something to be embarrassed about because cartoons aren't cool or edgy or for teens. Kids love shit for teens, more of them are into anime. It's why stuff like family guy actually has a target audience of children, and why it's still on the air, south park too. There's actually a pretty big audience of kids who want to be treated like adults.

>kids who want to be treated like adults but without any adult responsibilities
Sounds like half of Sup Forums.
Fucking NEETs.

You're actually not even wrong.

The schoolwork for middle school I'd so lax compared to what it used to be thst students might as well be neets. That get to browse their phones all day.

Fun fact, most kids are fucking ridiculously conservative since a lot of parents now are old hippies. It's like teaching a class that's the fucking cast for king of the hill.

It's gonna get real interesting ten years from now.

I remember reading an article about how the newest generation is more conservative than the baby boomers. Stuff will get interesting quick.

>the newest generation is more conservative than the baby boomers
I'm not sure I buy that. But I guess when things go too far left or right, people try to overcompensate. And kids try to set themselves apart from their parents' generation.

I imagine they get tired of libtard BS they hear all day and defy their parents. Makes me wonder if in another 15-20 things will turn around again and we just have rotating generations of conservative and democratic youths.

Never seen it myself either so I'm not so sure.

I think it's 3rd or 4th most watched, so yes.

No, believe me, they're really getting to that point.

Kids unironically call out jews all the fucking time now, I have a colleague that teaches history and she literally can't get through a class without the entire class noticing Jewish author names in the books and asking "but WHY did the nazis do all that stuff to the jews?"

All that tranny kid stuff is kind of a myth, kids today are simultaneously kind of gay as fuck and homophobe as fuck, it's actually really weird to watch. Like, they do fruity shit all the time like mock kiss eachother but then call everyone faggot that should get gassed.

Even the girls are getting in on it and regularly complain about sjws and feminists and how "they're ruining it for the rest of us".

And as far as racism goes, oddly enough it's the Hispanic kids that start shit, but I have noticed white kids taking more pride in their whiteness. Black kids are pretty ambivalent about the whole thing.

It's fucking weird, man, I went through a couple of generations of kids and got to see them go from kinda liberal leaning punks to full on post Weimer republic nazi kids.

>we just have rotating generations of conservative and democratic youths.
... we do. We've had multiple generations that have confirmed this to be the case. Everything is cyclical.

I feel like these cartoon channels are mainly watched by late teens and early 20 year olds who grew out of this phase, and thier siblings.

This might be a case of too small a sample size. You'd be shocked how much kids differ from one city to the next.

True enough. I've heard horror stories about inner city schools, and I work in a more suburban area.

So its consitently a pattern of democratic and republican back and forth? I wonder what causes these sort of things.

I mean current age adults (18-24) are super liberal for the most part. It's weird to imagine it going the other way.

yeah
its not like when i was a kid in the 80s and we only had cartoons in the early morning, right after school around 3-5pm and saturday mornings.

once CN got out of its ALL WE HAVE IS HANNA BARBARRA SHIT phase into the late 90s is when we started to get cartoons, ACTUAL new cartoons.

now anyone can go to calarts, make a sameface cartoon with WACKY and put it on CN or online on YT.

though, i remember when NG was the only place to really see new animated shit almost daily.

Being fed up with things being one way. Overcompensation. The two-party system only really accounting for two options.

It's not weird, they're just repeating shit they heard on the internet.

Cunt's sake you can hear how much of that shit sounds like pol.

>I mean current age adults (18-24) are super liberal for the most part. It's weird to imagine it going the other way.
It's cyclical but it's all moving in a certain direction.

Conservatives now are less conservative than twenty years ago. Conservatives twenty years ago are less conservative than forty years ago. The same can't be said about liberals being less liberal going backwards.

It's not even a good show. It's barely watchable because of the waifus, and even then it's not something I seek out but just don't change the channel for.

If a loser like me can barely watch it why would kids?

This thread is actually better than expected.

It would be a lot better if each episode was thirty minutes instead of fifteen. The pacing is way too fast.

We're completely off-topic with a side of political circlejerking so...

I don't know maybe we shouldn't set our expectations so low.

What are the ratings like? Post some Tvbythenumbers posts.

>Nah. I work as a school teacher for fifth graders, and most kids don't even really watch TV anymore, it's all vidya and youtube.

This is correct. My cousin in 6, and she watches TV but she gets a lot of her media from online. Cordcutting is going to boom in the next 5 years or so unless Cable/Satellite decides to cut down the channels and either...

1. Make cable affordable and less insane to pay for. In my household my dad pays $130 every month for Dish Network. The tv is either on CN, HGTV, CNN, or ESPN. Paying $130 for 3 channels is sheer insanity.

2. Add 'a la carte' options and allow users to pay for specific channels that they want to view instead of giving you "5000+ AMAZING CHANNELS~~!! XDDD", when realistically most people care about at most 20 channels.

However the rest of the shit you posted is kinda true as well. Kids don't really want media that talks down to them. A big reason why I watched Toonami and loved the fuck out of TOM was because he talked like a normal person and the atmosphere was dark and felt more mature. Kids do want to be treated like adults and its pretty insulting to give them a bunch of stuff that treats them like they are mentally handicapped/braindead.

You think they're going to usher in a new world order of white power? All the kids I know love Trump and don't go a day without telling black kids their shitskins

I feel like Im watching live-action Sup Forums sometimes whenever I pop into a school to help with art

I can't wait for Cable companies to be forced to make a dramatic change in service. Unfortunately, them also being most peoples' internet providers grants them significant power towards forcing package deals for the best value, keeping their Television departments above water.

Christ, poor black kids.

Nobody deserves to actually have the internet speak in shitposts at them in real life.

>Conservatives now are less conservative than twenty years ago
lol wat

That's some really revisionist history, user. Over here in reality the right wing has pushed farther to the right reaching out to extremists while the left has become centrist.

Conservatives nowadays practically jerk off homosexuals off and at worst try to not sell them a cake. They talk a big game about racism but pussy out of actually going out and hanging them like in the sixties.

You're high on your own hype. Then again, so were the liberals eight years ago. Just another demonstrations of a cycle. They're just not perfectly parallel.

Pretty much this.

I was watching an eight and ten year old yesterday and they were literally watching a video called '20 strange beds you wouldn't believe exist' and some videos by some youtube celebrity.

A lot of kids I've talked with still watch anime though.

>the right has become more centrist
This is demonstrably false. Look at economic and social policies enacted by Republicans just 20 years ago compared to their policies now.

>the left has jumped off into the progressive deep-end
Again: demonstrably false. Their economic and social policies have moved dramatically to the center, away from heavy spending and higher taxes and more towards the garbage neoliberalism that used to mainly be a republican mindset.

In the next twenty, thirty years I wouldn't be surprised if we actually started seeing more race wars or even a few extinctions of a few races too.

Kids are tired of hearing they need to treat others equally and all that other crap; they want to be rebellious and to the extreme too. I'm a 90's kid and the extreme was watching Dragon Ball Z and Powerpuff Girls, not making sure someone else felt like absolute shit.

Keynesian economics is not marxism.

Why is everyone a retard except me

>In the next twenty, thirty years I wouldn't be surprised if we actually started seeing more race wars or even a few extinctions of a few races too.
How lucky for us that you've climbed out of the gene pool.

>in middle school 16 years ago
>tell kid that bullies me it's good his dad is dead
>he cries
>I realize he's a human being like me and not a monster
>I feel bad and apologize
>we become friends and I learn not to be an asshole because it feels bad

>in middle school now
>post on kid that bullies me's facebook page that it's good his dad is dead
>laugh and go on with my day

Social Media was a mistake

>In the next twenty, thirty years I wouldn't be surprised if we actually started seeing more race wars or even a few extinctions of a few races too.
ok

>Social Media was a mistake

This, it is the proverbial technology Man Was Not Ready For.

Jesus Christ, can you people not go 10 minutes without talking about politics?

You can only ogle cartoon girlies for so long before people sober up a bit.

I fucked that up. I meant 10 to 20 years but you'd probably laugh at that too. Ah well.

I don't know what you guys are talking about now, but I watched this show a few weeks ago and I have not seen a show this mediocre in a long time.
So I'd be really surprised if any kids were watching this. Shit I'd be surprised if any kids would want any merch that spawns from this show.

Yeag my 13 year old brother just plays overwatch all day. He's interfering with my record a bit. I've also been getting him into jojo and one punch man.
we've always loved dragon ball tho. Main kid cartoon he would ever watch is gumball and gravity falls
you're right, as a kid I hated when they "kiddified" certain things
There Should Be A slight limit to treating kids like adults tho

Most people just never got any formal education about economics.

It's not an unboxing or minecraft video, so no they don't like it.

>gen z being raised by Sup Forums
For once I'm excited for the future

>In the next twenty, thirty years I wouldn't be surprised if we actually started seeing more race wars or even a few extinctions of a few races too.
You are the stupidest person in the world if you really think there's a race war coming.

Of course there's going to be a Race War, if not a Race War just one side thats going to wipe out the other into submission or extinction

Hell, I was never even taught logic.

An open war, in the classic sense of the word "war", is not very likely, but nobody can deny that race relations in the West have only worsened within the past few years.

You're getting old.

Interracial breeding is at an all time high. Unless you consider a race to be a bunch of butthurt rednecks that'll go on a lynching spree.

Eh... I'm not sure they have enough material each episode to make 26 minutes or whatever. I mean, the world is kinda charming in a video game sort of way, so maybe?

I just want some more Witchy Simone.

It's not that great. Pacing's too fast, humor only consists of the random shit, and the main duo looks awfully similar to Slayers but recolored (well, I'm not saying like it's a bad thing, but comparing this to Slayers their characters are similar too).

good thread

That'll slow down once the new generations become adults in a few years. We are just experiencing a glimpse of whats going to be once these kids get jobs

That's wholly unfounded. If anything your race war is just wishful thinking.

>Interracial breeding is at an all time high.
And yet racial identity is becoming more and more important. Which is how the term "of color" made a comeback in the first place.

Plus, race mixing doesn't quell racism, and in fact it can exacerbate it. Just like how in Spanish colonies there were like fifty different strata for races based on pedigree, birth location, etc.

>kids of millenials
>having jobs
funny shit, user

You think the job market for new entrants is bad now? We joke about boomers not being able to retire until 80, but millenials will never retire.

Also automation will have taken further leaps and bounds destroying any potential for mass employment

Also AI will have taken over a large portion of service sector jobs further fucking over the job market.

What jobs they might be able to get will have terrible wages because no one can find a job.

We're headed to another Grapes of Wrath situation.

The entire concept of "race war" is an invention to distract everyone from the Class War that's pretty overdue.
"Nigras stealin' muh prosperity"
"Mudslimes hatin' muh Freedumbs" (and not retaliating for the Oil Wars ravaging their homes).

>>We're headed to another Grapes of Wrath situation.
Or a Soylent Green situation.

From the episodes I watched (only saw like 6 or 7) it felt like some of the plots would have been alright if there was less focus on the characters being wacky. Feels like it's trying so hard to be funny and failing every time.

Personally I am learning Blacksmithing so I am not useless after the upcoming Apocalypse. You know, assuming I survive it.

This.

Fuck's sake, Breitbart is run by actual bankers.

>i remember when NG was the only place to really see new animated shit almost daily.
DAD'S HOME

>raised by
It's literally tweens memeing.

My parents still had dial-up AOL up until 2011 or 2012. And it's still offered. Don't expect something like Cable TV to just end. It may take risks and try to reinvent itself, but there won't be any cutting of the cord that you would recognize as an outright rejection of or dropping of cable TV as a whole. You'll probably see a shift in programming.

Where does a show like happy tree friends fit into todays world? Is it still a kind of content that could have appeal?

And freaking Donald Trump was the underdog during the elections. Let's face it, the West is irreversibly fucked up altogether.

I don't see how. The tits and asses & formulaic wacky swords make it seem like an Activision collectathon for 20-somethings.

>when you enter a thread for Vambre porn and it's all political discussion
I hate you fucks, all of you

So are you motherfucker.

I have 2 nieces, 8 and 10. They mainly seem to like Teen Titans Go and Gumball.

And they have no idea how terrible adulthood is. Those fucking retards are wasting away the years.

tweens are still kids. It's just interesting to see what and how they'll learn.

Parents are also progressively less and less technologically illiterate so that'll make an interesting parallel as well

t. Wagecuck

How can they not? It's John K., meet the Slayers.

>Those fucking retards are wasting away the years
How do you expect the 11-year-olds to take control of their lives and do something meaningful when most of us can't even manage to do it?

>Watching cartoons past, like, nine years old is seen as something to be embarrassed about because cartoons aren't cool or edgy or for teens
You're fucking wrong.

Look at the fanbase of MLP and Steven Universe. Adults.

Kids are being superficial if they refuse to watch cartoons.

I really want to like this because the designs are 10/10 and they arn't afraid to go off model, but the ADD pacing is killing it for me

>john k
>likable preson and/or artist

>Look at the fanbase of MLP and Steven Universe.
Wait. Are you trying to support your argument or sink it?

John K did nothing wrong

Go home John.
Nobody likes you.

>And they have no idea how terrible adulthood is
When I was a kid I entertained the thought of killing myself on a weekly basis.

Now I have a hot wife with a fat ass, a job where I make a decent amount of money that combined lets us get everything we need and most things we want, and Cable, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, a PS4, and a decent PC.

I'm a lot happier now than I was as a kid.

I do appreciate the fact they do go off model for the female characters. Morbidia makes probably the weirdest and most varied faces of anybody on the show.

She is having sex with other men and when she becomes pregnant with someone else's baby that will kill your income.

For the past decade, John K hasn't done anything at all.

>John K
Has there ever existed an individual that shat the bed harder than John K? For all of his talent and animation know-how he made damn sure to burn every bridge in the business.

Can atest to that. Work at an arcade/fun center place. Kids I've seen look at our licensed toys and unless they're insanely popular like Adventure Time then most kids will look at them and either not know what it is or know it by name alone. The only kids to enjoy care-bears, littlest pet shop, MLP, and other toys based on shows are the little 8 or younger crowd.

Meanwhile same age group and the older 9-12 year olds see our South Park large stuffed animals or our Family Guy Stewie/Brian and immediately name them off all excited.

The fuck?

>I'm a lot happier now than I was as a kid.

What a coincidence. I'm in the same boat as you. Only in reverse.

>Meanwhile same age group and the older 9-12 year olds see our South Park large stuffed animals or our Family Guy Stewie/Brian and immediately name them off all excited.
2bh i was like that too when i was their age

yeah that's pretty unusual.

I just really wish it would take a breather to establish the characters or world or something, it's so creative and the designs are so good compared to the calarts spam we've been dealing with, but it's just so breakneck.

I'm glad some people in this thread love the designs.

I personally can't stand them. But I'd rather they're appreciated by someone than appreciated by none yet still find funding just because.

Can you make swords n'stuff?

I want to believe that you believe that.

In Elysium movie the 99% of world population live with a Universal Basic Income because every job are taked by machines, meanwhile the 1% live in the moon.

~1 million views per episode

In my country, Local CN dont air MagicSword, they just put all episodes in his webpage, meanwhile Local CN just show Teen Titans Go 24/7 same that USA CN

They just look so exaggerated and goofy, Like the western equivelent of Saber Marionette.

I like the big legs and big hair.

>Nah. I work as a school teacher for fifth graders, and most kids don't even really watch TV anymore, it's all vidya and youtube.

Because modern parents drop his/her responsibilities and turn electronic devices in 24/7 nannies.
I've found, though, these kids don't should really exist. If Modern parents don't want be PARENTS, nothing good can come of it. That's the main problem in society nowadays, and is the reason we have kids acting all high and mighty and fucking shit up wherever they go.
