it's complete and utter shit, isn't it?

Nah it's pretty good. The slow-burn pacing makes it very absorptive.

yes just like your life you dumb frogposter

It's beautiful visually, but the story is pretty shit

>It's beautiful visually, but the story is pretty shit
>good old shock and awe
I see...

no, it's better than the first

the movie could have been cut in half and you woudlnt have missed anything

Anyone who is thinking about seeing this movie should see it in IMAX not for the visuals but for the sound

That's a ridiculous thing to say.

it honestly made me eyes water

Nope, it remains faithful to the original while evolving the dystopian world further into the future in a believable way. On the technical level it's a masterpiece, the acting is great, the writing is subtle and meaningful, the action is kept at a perfect amount and it's very hard to think of any way to make this movie better.

But that's just my opinion

The first one wasn’t particularly good outside of effects, sound design and rutger hauer

No it isn't you dumb Froggy.

That's a ridiculous thing to say.

Yes people on Sup Forums like it so you are obligated to think it’s shit before you even see it

Can't wait for the HD rip so I can make muh grids. It was beautiful ese

It is unironically this years pleb filter, much more so than Dunkirk

well the protagonist wasn't a cardboard box

It's for people who thought the original was "too subtle" or "ambiguous".
I've actually seen people on Sup Forums say that of the original.

My thoughts exactly.

No, it's actually kino

...

It's certainly a faithful sequel, people are going to be arguing about this movie for years.

Just got back from seeing it. Legitimately the best movie I've seen all year. The goose nailed it.

It's very good but the plot lacks in originality.

>faithful sequel
>"She liked him" in regards to Rachael upon meeting Deckard for the first time, despite that most certainly not being the case in the context of the original
You were right about one thing, at least.

M O T Y

>the plot lacks in originality.
>it will be lost in time
>like tears in the rain
Ohhh, I get it now!!! Soo meta.

Is this movie just Ryan Gosling walking around in different cool looking coats?

No, we also get to see Harrison Ford in a t-shirt.

What?
No I just meant the whole "unique individual who could be a new Messiah and literally BREAK society as we know it so the bad guys are after her" has been done about eighteen million times. The movie is still very good but it was a little lazy in the story department.

Great to look at.

the "bad guy" gets 4 minutes screentime and no payoff. The augmebted reality character dies without comment. And thay despite them extendimg the movie by at least 10 minutes if dialog silence. Didn't they have time or am I just a pleb? I can almost not believe that's where they want to end it.

Found the dumb pleb who didn't "get" it. The narrative was showed that you don't need to be special in order to fulfill your purpose in life. That's what truly makes us human. Watch it again shit-eater.

You can't even type correctly, of course you are a pleb.

It's okay. You're just a pleb.

I did understand your reference you fucking faggot. It was just pointless and had nothing to do with my original post.

Pretty sure the fallout of ai gf's death was pretty visible in goslings face. K didn't need to say "I am alone and sad now".

only brainlets think the story is shit.

>Villenureddit
>good
the state of this board is pretty low. Reminds me of when S5 BrBa was airing and every pleb comes out of the shadows to sing and dance about their little shit show.

>all this shilling

Execution matters more than originality

>muh walmart shirt meme
he lived alone with a dog on an abandoned hotel/casino, setting up traps and preparing for any intruders that would fuck his shit up, what kind of clothes would you want him to wear?

You go ahead and spout buzzwords all you want, but Villeneuve never made a single bad film.

Sorry I hurt your feelings, but it is a pretty shit story.

It wasn't a criticism. Calm the fuck down, sperg.

Who implanted the memory and why?

>Starts to backpedal soon as his idiocy is called out

LMAOING @ your life you disgrace.

Declares daughter, it was pure coincidence k had the memory. She puts parts of herself in her crafted memories. He wasn't born special, his actions made the difference. This was what made him human.

>K had the memory
>wasn't born special
hmm

Nah, it's great.

Yes and you can tell by this reddit tourists use of a general

The people praising it don't even watch actual film

bubble girl designed the memory based on her own

I'm glad you could enjoy it, but I couldn't.
I liked a lot of ideas it had, and I saw what it was going for, it just didn't quite hit the mark for me.

And he got the memory that let him find her.
That's pretty goddamn special.

>Anyone who doesn't agree with my choice of films is a redditor and stupid.

Nope, it's one of the handful of movies that will be remembered after the year. It's a great film that really expands on the scope of the original. Most of the actors deliver great performances, aside from Leto who is absolutely awful. The visuals are a big step-up from the first film and the film is very well-shot.

But I thought she was locked in that room her whole life

It was literally her job to make memories.

I saw what it was going for as well, and it hit the mark so perfectly, that Villeneuve syncs the fucking sound effect for you at the end so that you would definitively get it.

I don't see how the film could have hit the mark any more than that.

I think she said since she was 8 years old.
Obviously she lived in an orphanage and was exposed to shit tons of pathogens, so the bubble is probably just a way for her not to get killed.

youtube.com/watch?v=u8OeVZRQnSM

Agreed

Lots of them have the memory, the prostatute recognises the horse from hers. K is special because of what he does not because of being born.

I just watched the original last night. Ford was the most boring character in the entire movie. I was honestly surprised how little he acted and how much he just stood around

He was pretty much the audience surrogate.
The only reason they brought him back is because he's Harrison Ford.

Can we all appreciate that K not only got to fuck his waifu, but he essentially cucked her?

why did bubble girl make a false memory for robots that was literally true in every detail? i know they waved it off saying "oh there's a piece of the creator in every memory they create" but that's not the same as literally placing the exact location where you hid a toy horse as a kid. was she a hack?

They brought him back to extend the meaning of the first film, and affirm the primacy of the background central narrative.

The movie would not have worked without him.

What you think about him being in every film, and sequel and the way he acts is absolutely irrelevant to anything. You have to own your own subjective demons.

He actually deepened his relationship with her by fucking her in physical form.

Simply the idea that he would not have sex with anyone unless they were her means she's the one he loves. It's not his or her fault she does not have what he needs to feel like a human (you got the fucking point of the whole thing, right?)

If anything, it's the rebel prostitute that's the cucked one.

>going out of the theater
>hyping up this movie for almost a year and it lived up to every expectation
>have nothing to look forward to

i just can't find many reasons to live right now, you guys

Well I mean she got to feel what it was like being another woman fucking her dude

>Without comment
Feel like we watched different films m8

I haven't enjoyed a movie that much in awhile.

They had to give her something to do.
They're fucking slaves anyways, who cares what the memories are going to be.

what do you call that collar?

Were you expecting a final battle with Wallace?

Goose feathers

The high-functioning autist's security blanket

Leto was brilliant in the role.

>same scores
>same plebs praising it
>same disgusting nutv meme praise
>same general type threads
Holy fuck it really is this generations TFA and real Sup Forums won't be able to have its own threads for months

...

I remember reading somewhere that Wallace was originally intended to be played by David Bowie, do you guys think that wpuld have taken away from the movie?

Avatar 2.

Why do you think Leto was awful?

David Bowie playing Wallace would've been way less cringey.
Leto takes his roles too seriously, and tries to pull of a Daniel Day Lewis performance without any of the talent of pulling it off.
Bowie would've come off like he was Tyrell 2.0, a genius but an ego that puts everyone in danger.

So whose memories were implanted into real human bean?
Why's Dekard such a dick, he saw that "Joe" was shot but didn't actually tended his wounds?

The hologram sex scene is absolutely amazing.

I was blown away by that.

It was different

Deckard is just a dick.

The girl who made the memories was the actual replicant child, the daughter of Deckard and Rachael.

My open question to anyone else is, does the girl actually have an immune system disease or was that just a fabrication so she would be hidden and safe?

It was a front, to keep her safe.

>holy shit all these brainlets
Now I know why people started to leave before it was over.
Fucking dimwitted fuckers.

Deckard's daughter.

Deckard sucks at everything except nuclear beekeeping.

Didn't he rape rachel in the first one?

No, you stupid frog, it's one of the best movies this year, if not THE best

I wasn't a fan of the tone in his voice really. It reminded me a lot of Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith, except not even half as good.

Maybe saying his acting was completely awful is a mistake; the body language in the scene where he executes the failed replicant was really powerful.

It was a fabrication.

So why didn't she say to him that she has exactly the same fucking memories?

I don't get why she didn't tell K that was her memory when he showed it to her?

Wasn't the memory of her working in the factory and throwing the horse into a furnace her own experience? By that logic I think the bubble is just a ruse.
