Who did it better?
Who did it better?
Fury road. By a mile.
mad max, fantastic
Two films that are very different.
Mad Max is just an adrenaline rush, but Bladerunner was a masterpiece.
Blade Runner easily
>fury road obviously
>i love tom hardy
>its not meant to be a story
>the sand and fire looks cool
>based george miller!!!
>thatsbait.gif
Blade Runner 2049
Blade Runner by a kilometer
2049
Fury Road is awful
Both were great. Mad max felt a bit more reddit with the whole giant guitar thing though but still a fun watch.
don't forget 'muh stronk charlize #yesallwomen'
More like kinometer
KEk
Both are beautiful on their own.
Mad Max is high-octane fast pased ride with obvious visuals and next to none plot.
Blade Runner is outstanding 3 hour trip into the future with amazing visuals, but not so obvious to viewer, more focused about controversial plot.
Both 8/10 for me, and they both are far ends of each other preferences.
Did what better? Fury Road was a fun movie and 2049 an interesting one
Hey guys who did it better rollercoaster or music album
Fury Road is more remarkable because it was directed by the same guy who did the original.
Can you imagine what kind of disgusting shitpile BR2049 would have turned out to be if it was still directed by Ridley Scott?
>Hey guys who did it better rollercoaster or music album
terrible analogy
reported
Mad Max was more of a soft reboot. You could watch it with no knowledge of any of the past ones, that was all Mad Max sequels have done desu
Haha make a better one then. You got my point anyway
Both had rushed third acts, but mad Max's felt less rushed
This. 2049 was just as dishonest as TFA.
i actually quite like that analogy. the rollercoaster implies a fast paced action film while the music album implies something more atmospheric and conceptual
Both were GOAT tier sequels, Blade runner 2049 felt a lot more ambitious, but also not quite as drum tight as fury road. Both are modern classics desu.
Mad Max Fury Road:
>terrible cinematography
>no character development
>the "main character" says literally 3 lines
>the only interesting character sacrifices himself for the womyn we know nothing about
>unnecessary abortion scene
>filters - the movie
>fantasy-tier post-apocalypse, which looks retarded compared to the previous entries which were grounded in reality
>cannot hear a word Immortan is saying
>reddit-tier antics like "WITNESS ME"
>Valhalla is spelled with a W in the movie
>pointless CGI sandstorm that looked terrible
>obvious scenes that were meant to "pop out" for 3D viewers
>Immortan sacrifices his entire operation to acquire 4 women
>night scenes all have that terrible blue filter
I could go on...
Blade Runner > Feminist road
I think what he meant was that he thought it was pretty pseudo intellectual, but thanks anyway user
Blade Runner 2047 was a better story but Mad Max: Fury Road was more entertaining. They both have very different qualities and I liked both of them very much.
Blade runner fans are suffering from Star Wars syndrome. The movie was better than average, but nothing more. A rating between 70-80 would suffice. Mad max was great (85-90).
>tfw I love both of them
It's a good feel. Imusually pirate shit but I'd consider owning these on Blu-ray some day when im not such a poorfag.
Blade Runner 2049.
Fury Road is a decent spectacle but any discussion of it's themes inevitably comes down to it's mildly retarded plot.
BR2049 extrapolates on the original Blade Runner's themes while also, separately and intertwined, dealing with fullblown identity crises facing modern men. It does this despite all Hollywood conventions to the contrary.
Did what better?
I haven't seen 2049 yet but here's nothing remarkable about fury road besides the practical effects
Same guy.
Narrative felt weak in blade runner. Biblical connections (eh, alright), philosophical questions you'd find in an introductory class (muh freewill, muh individuality and autonomy, muh AI debate, muh qualia), and i found the cinematography disappointing (overbearing cuts + long(ish) movie = weird temporal dichotomy). The aesthetic itself was wonderful though.
Blade Runner is a modern masterpiece that'll still be watched a generation from now.
It's questionable if Fury Road will even be remembered in another five years considering how much dumb CGI shit escapades is being pumped out right now.
Blade Runner is the real masterpiece.
Fury Road is overrated.
Mad Max is a feminist power fantasy.
Blade Runner 2049 is hated by women.
I liked both, I feel like Blade Runner 2049 was the better movie, re-watching it tomorrow to make a final verdict, Fury Road was amazing the first time and then slowly become just an alright flick.
I thought Mad Max was boring as hell.
>We have to drive in this direction for X reason
>1 hour desert car chase
>didn't find what we wanted, now we have to drive back!
>1 hour desert car chase
>good guys win
>fin
I was falling asleep in the last 3rd. My eyes were glued to the screen for all of BR, it had me drawn in the entire film
Fury Road, no contest
Blade Runner was really good, but Fury Road blew me the fuck away.
>implying Mad Max [Max is useless edition] is anything than garbage.
OP pls.
>TFA
Overrated by plebs
>2049
Underrated by plebs
Better sequel to a beloved cult classic?
Blade runner. Not even close.
Fury road was fucking sweet and pretty faithful to the originals don’t get me wrong but it was basically a roided out popcorn action flick. 2049 was a damn near perfect sequel in all regards to the original.
BR2049 would have been a masterpiece if Ridley Scott directed.
>max is useless
Confirmed for not having seen FR. The plot is literally "Max meets a bunch of incompetent holes and has to deal with their shitty fuckups for two hours".
Fury Road. It's not even a contest.
Blade Runner 2049 was a lackluster sequel that ruined the perfect image of the original. Fury Road was more like a "reboot" and thus doesn't ruin the originals at all. And it was a fantastic film on its own right.
>be you
>be contrarian
>don’t like something for the sake of not liking it
>try to explain it with nonsense words that have negative implications in other contexts
>turns out you don’t actually have anything real to say critically or otherwise
>be a big faggot
I had your job once. I was good at it.
Furiosa shows up Max near constantly
>Blade Runner 2049
MEDIOCRE
Fury road was fucking great
Shame capeshit babies can't enjoy it
>Defending feminist propagenda
>loses a fight to him while he's chained to an immobile body
>doesn't ride on the back of a car into a sandstorm
>doesn't kick the shit out of cunts on the back of a moving truck
>doesn't even have an actual plan, relies on Max to provide one (twice)
>big moment is "Here pass me the gun imma better shot"
>immediately upstaged by Max fucking off and creating a huge explosion coming back covered in blood
Yeah man, Furiosa is really a fucking powerhouse of a character and not a joke at all. Keep memeing that shit.
Pleas explain how 2049 ruined the “perfect” original.
Yes that perfect film that has 7 different versions.
>feminist propaganda
>le ebin retard feelsguy may may
>Yes that perfect film that has 7 different versions.
Of which is the Final Cut is the greatest, and pretty much perfect.
>Pleas explain how 2049 ruined the “perfect” original.
2049 was shit and it wasn't a different story, it was an extension of the original.
>being so assblasted by feminism you dislike anything that has a hint of feminism
>le ebin retard feelsguy may may
XD
I support feminism. Is that a crime?
Literal proof that reddit has taken over.
>all this praise for Mad Max
Absolutely fucking typical Sup Forums
You were all shitting on it when it came out, now the dust has settled and its no longer popular you all pretend that its great
Never ever change Sup Forums
David Lynch
Right, just look at Alien Covenant
Alien Covenant was a masterpiece
Only contrarians disagree.
t. r_the_donald
Definitely Fury Road. Godlike movie.
I don't support trump, though.
I always thought it was great. As a matter of fact, I saw the three Mad Max films in preparation for its release.
1. The Road Warrior & Fury Road
2. Mad Max
3. Beyond Thunderdome
>Is that a crime?
Absolutely, even the most extreme leftists can't defend modern feminism.
Not that guy but I'm just a regular feminist then. Not a "modern" one.
Fury Road is a brainless action flick done right.
2049 is a very good plot driven cyberpunk movie.
Ah, so you're a normal person then.
The Road Warrior > Fury Road ≥ Mad Max > Beyond Thunderdome
Are you a girl or a girl (male)?
I loved The Road Warrior and Fury Road, for different reasons.
Mad Max is just not as good as Furry Road IMO, it's kind of slow and not so good. Perhaps because I was really attracted to The Road Warrior, and was hoping the first film was similar to it.
Girl.
Kino: Mad Max
Film: the Road Warrior
Movie: Beyond Thunderdome
Flick: Fury Road
tits or gtfo
Both are garbage for numale video game players
The bullet that kills the tfa scum kills the same fury road and 2049 cancer
But the_donald is still reddit?
In my personal opinion, they are equals.
>philosophical questions you'd find in an introductory class (muh freewill, muh individuality and autonomy, muh AI debate, muh qualia)
Bladerunner 2049 was about fate. Obvious Oedipus symbolism. Free will/AI was a throwback sideshow so normies that only know about Oedipus from psychology101 could feel deep too.
>REEEEEEEEEEEE EVERYTHING I DON'T LIKE IS LE Sup Forums BOOGEYMAN
thanks for your input you flabby fatty
it quite literally should be
>terrible cinematography
>le simplifying the plot argument!
Lol
Blade Runner 2049, Fury Road was boring
100% correct
Please go on...stupidity like that will lend to your acidental death and that would be fun
Mad max is fun.
Blade Runner is amazing.
Yeah being useless
>but Muh sniper scene!
Max was with his trigger hand fucked up
Two very different movies, I guess you could say 2049 is "better" but its more complicated then that, I like Fury Road more but that's probably because it hits my dieselpunk niche really well.
BTFO...but What did you expect for idiots that fall to the "Fury Road is feminist"meme?pure idioticy
Sup Forums is suposed to be smarter than that
Both masterpieces of their own genre.
>Sup Forums is suposed to be smarter than that
No, it's not.
Kek
>I don’t know what sequels are
Sequel. Part of a sequence. A continuation of an original.
Also it was a totally different story. The themes may overlap and be similar, which they fucking should seeing as how it’s a god damn sequel, but the narrative vehicle for those themes was very different.
Both have completely different directions and both are on the top of their genres. Fury Road is literally the best movie involving Car Chases since Ronin and Blade Runner 2049 is in some parts better than the original in terms of pacing and is the first Sci Fi movie ever I would consider a real chance winning the Academy Award for best picture.
I haven't even seen bladerunner but bladerunner.
Mad max barely even has mad max in it
that's an ironic image
